Description of the London vacation apartment rental
Fab location in central London, very well-appointed studio has all the comforts and conveniences you require. The decor has been given special attention and the result is pleasing but not bland. Original artwork is displayed and silk scatter cushions grace the bed. A comfortable Victorian sofa adds eclectic interest to the sitting area's Turkish rug and hand-carved Moroccan side table.

Area Info
Located in Fitzrovia, just north of Oxford Street and Soho, the flat is on the first floor -- up one flight of stairs. The street is part of a charming neighborhood and historically was home to writers, artists, and statesmen. Their former residences are marked by blue plaques and on Firzroy Square you'll see the former homes of Virginia Wolf and George Bernard Shaw, among others.

Very charming neighborhood bounded by Oxford Street on the south, Tottenham Court Road on the east, Great Portland Street on the west and Euston Road on the north.

Though situated on a quiet, one-way street, the flat is just steps from shops, restaurants, pubs, and is a short walk to Oxford Street, West End theatreland, Soho, Marylebone, Bloomsbury, and Regent's Park.

Location AND Value

February 5, 2007

If you love London but dread the cost of staying there, and if you want to feel more like a local than a tourist when you're there - you will truly enjoy this flat. The location is, IMHO, perfect. The Tube (to get you anywhere), a nicely developing Tottenham Court Rd., Soho, Charlotte St., Oxford St., even Covent Garden/Leicester Sq. al close or reasonable walking distance. Plus, a nice variety of reasonable restaurants nearby. The bonus - an owner who REALLY cares about you and your satisfaction before, during, and after your stay. This is a great choice for your next "London fix."

I wouldn't stay anywhere else

I agree with the other reviews; as a traveler, it's so wonderful to have a home in the middle of London. The space is well appointed and located in a great neighborhood. It allowed me to be a bit of a tourist and walk around, yet be enough of a local to shop for groceries and relax. The owner is always available and was able to help me out from many miles away! I recommend the apt highly.

Cynthia's flat was perfect for all of my needs. All of my dealings with her from beginning to end were better than a 5 star hotel experience. She is thorough with instructions, area attractions, directions, tube and train instructions, etc. The kitchen is stocked with a real coffee pot for us westerners who like something more than an instant cup of joe. The area is adorable and the tube station (Great Portland St) is just a quick walk away. The water pressure in the shower was great and unlike a lot of showers in the UK, I was kept warm during the showering experience. All things that you would expect from the US but a commodity from the UK. The bed was extremely comfortable, there is a nice table for eating or reading the paper while having your morning cup of coffee. There is a nice private deck with a table and chairs for you to drink a glass of wine after a long day of sight seeing before dinner. The place was spotlessly clean and comes equipt with a blow dryer, an iron and ironing board, hangers, and a big fan. I will DEFINITELY be back!

This location is excellent. Much of Central London is in easy walking range. Great Portland Street and Warren Street stations are within a few hundred yards and access five tube lines between them. Groceries, restaurants and pubs are close by. And yet the place is very quiet with a neighbourhood feel. The flat is great for two people, comfortable and (unlike some) up only one flight of stairs. Like MacArthur, we shall return.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Cynthia's flat. The location is ideal particularly for access to the Victoria tube line which rockets across Central London. No issues - everything is as advertised.

Your Pied A Terre in London

Staying at this flat was a completely pleasant experience. The location could not be better, its close to everything. Having all the comforts of home; a kitchen, a comfortable bed, cable tv, even internet access in this lovely neighborhood fulfilled my fantasy of actually living in London. Cynthia makes all the arrangements effortless. I highly recommend this flat.

Live like a local in central London

March 8, 2006

For about the same price to stay in a budget hotel in a just OK or not so good location, I got this cute and charming flat in a very central part of London. - Convenient access to many tube lines and buses. - Walking distance to several major attractions i.e. British Museum, Oxford Street shopping district, Leicester Square. - Restaurants and pubs, cafes groceries, and laundromat right downstairs or blocks away. - Step in Kitchenette stocked with coffee, tea, sugar and honey. There's even a washing machine for your use. I felt right at home in this cute studio flat and would definitely recommend to a friend on a budget.

It is obvious that this review is written by a friend. Co-incidentally, I lived in the flat at the top of this building a few years ago, and whilst it's true that the location is great, THIS IS TERRIBLE VALUE for money. For half the price, you should be able to find something nuch nicer in central London. This is HIGHER than the weekly rent you would be asked for by an agent. Check Craigslist for a proper bargain. good luck.

What a great place!

If you're going to London, this flat is just the best place to stay! It's absolutely convenient (a short little walk to both the Great Portland Street and Warren Street tube stops, which basically gives you access to just about every tube line), has high speed internet (a must for someone like me who requires an internet connection for work 24/7), and is clean and supremely comfortable. The rates for the flat are a great deal, and just for the location and convenience, her price is unbeatable. There's a laundromat and dry cleaners a block away, with a grocery store down the street. I give nothing but the highest recommendation for the flat, and I know you'll enjoy the stay.
