Description of the London vacation apartment rental

A lower ground floor apartment in a small quaint and quiet street. Freshly decorated and traditionally dressed in keeping with the Victorian red brick tenement block.

Shared entrance hall with the owner who lives in the adjoining flat at the back of the property. EXTREMELY quiet non-smoking mature male university lecturer.

We can consider any length of time up to 3 months from September 2008. Longer term rates can be negotiated.....

Area Description

This is the West End, North of Oxford Street in a pivotal position between Oxford Circus, Warren Street and Goodge Street tubes

EVERY tube line is within walking distance of about 8 minutes

National Rail Stations Euston, Kings Cross & St Pancras are 15 minutes walk

Important Harley Street and the BBC Radio building are off nearby Regent Street. The BBC has many annexes in the area, as does University College Hospital, Westminster University, London Business School, University College London, London College of Fashion

Madonna's Marylebone and Sherlock Holmes Baker Street all border Regents Park. You can walk home from the Open Air Shakespeare Theater and London Zoo all located in Regents Park

Hyde Park is an alternative sophisticated stroll but you may prefer to go horseback riding or hire a bike!!!

Close by Charlotte Street is an extension of Soho's media film & TV world. A favourite location for road side dining it's lined with great restaurants at all price ranges.

Great Titchfield Street and Great Portland Street are rag trade areas convenient to Oxford Street full of clothing showrooms.

With the council installed bollards along the road side and the sandblasted house fronts, Hanson Street's face-lift of recent years makes it unrecognizable from the plain street it once was.

Tons of modernization mean properties in the area have become lucrative, and this quiet pocket of London has joined London's sky high rental ranks...

Two blocks from one of London's skyline landmarks The BT Tower - it will always be there to guide you home....

 Charming flat, October 30, 2007
By Lucy (Suffolk)
The flat is in a fantastic location on a quiet street and was just what we were looking for. The owner, Sue, was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay.

The location was fabulous--convenient and quiet. The furnishings were comfortable, practical and fashionable. The owner was helpful and approachable. The apartment was surprisingly spacious. The price was right. What more could you ask for?

 Outstanding!, August 31, 2007
By Joseph Maniscalco (New York, NY)
Our experience with our stay was only amplified by the flat. My wife and I have stayed in the Millenium Mayfair, Millenium Baileys and other hotels around London... they do not even come close to this flat. Extraordinary condition, size, and a top notch location. Amenities were all new. Supermarkets, shopping, restaurants, and tube stations all within a 5 minute walk. Quiet location that was perfectly suited for my family and I. The owner/landlord could not have been more helpful. She made us feel right at home. Whether you are alone or with someone, this flat will feel like your home away from home.

 Perfect Flat!, August 31, 2007
By trans-atlantic group (Swansea, UK and Seattle, WA USA)
We (two couples) let the flat in August 07 and found it perfect in terms of both location and size. The location could not be better. Quiet side street, with as little noise as is possible in central London, but within easy reach of multiple tubes and walkable to the British Library, British Museum, Soho, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Regent's Park, Camden market, and many many other places on the less-touristy itinerary. Flat felt very safe and secure as well, with friendly, quiet neighbours all around. The flat is four rooms all in a row (bedroom, living, kitchen, bath) and was certainly cozy with four, but entirely do-able and well set-up for both sleeping and eating-in. High-speed internet was lovely and the kitchen is small but completely workable. Bathroom is large by comparison and includes a washer for clothes. Plus there's a little outdoor patio that is great for hanging out clothes and provides a good deal of light into the apartment as well. Su was wonderful--meeting us early one morning to let us in and very concerned that the flat matched our particular needs--she had made sure that we had enough sheets/towels for the four of us and also tidied up the extra toilet in anticipation of four staying in the flat, which was extremely thoughtful. We were a bit nervous making the deal sight unseen and over the internet, but Su put us immediately at ease, made sure we were settled and then left us to our own devices. The apartment was exactly what we needed. We highly recommend the flat and Su--we had a great experience.

Convenient and Charming!, July 22, 2007
By A renter (New York, NY)
We came to London on a business trip and extended it into a vacation when we found this flat available. The flat is in a truly convenient location that is close to shopping, restaurants, the park (Regent Park), and if you can't walk to where you need to go, there are 3 tube stations less than 5 minutes away. The flat itself was really cute, with a mix of modern and classic furnishings that made it quite charming and livable. The bathroom and kitchen were basic, and more importantly, clean and the bedroom was cozy, although as a fair warning, it does face the street which is generally quiet, but does have some light foot and motor traffic. we were only in London for a week, but one could easily enjoy more time here. Another good feature was the friendly and accomodating owner. Some times you will find an impersonal management company or absent/careless landlord in these short term rentals, but the owner of this flat did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable. She stayed late to let us in the first night, gave us tips on shopping and restaurants, and when scent of the fresh paint became a little overwhelming she even offered to move us to her other luxury flat in Soho at no extra charge! Whether you are headed to London on business or pleasure, and want a cozy place to call home for your time there, you would do well to book here.
