Area Description
area of Bloomsbury in Central London. You're in the heart of London but away from the crowds. The British Museum is a 10 min walk and the Charles Dickens Museum housed in the building where he wrote Oliver Twist, is 1 minute away. London's West End with its fabulous shopping (Oxford St, Regent St), theatres, art galleries and landmarks (Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben) is close by. Covent Garden with its street theatre, opera house and shopping Piazza is an easy walk. Heading East, you can stroll around the City of London, Europe's financial centre with its famous buildings (St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin, Tower of London, Wren churches). To the South, the London Eye, Tate Modern and South Bank. For children, at the end of the street there is Coram's Fields, a delightful park with swings, slides, climbing frames, sand pit, farm animals and astro-turf football pitches. Nearest tube stations are Russell Square (6 min walk) and Chancery Lane (7).
