Description of the Long Beach Island vacation home rental
Long Beach Island is a family vacationland, rated in the top 5 of a National Travel Magazine's Best Beaches in the US. LBI is six miles from the mainland via the causeway.
If you are looking for a great vacation rental or offseason week(end) to get away with your family or friends...this is it! Our high season weeks begin on Saturday. Low season & offseason begins on Friday. We may even have offseason midweeks available. This smokefree, centrally air-conditioned, beachfront home has beach access and is five steps from a brilliant white beach that Long Beach Island is known for. Pamper yourself in this enchanting LBI oceanfront duplex on one of the wider & less crowded beaches on the island and enjoy all the amenities you would expect in a well equipped beach house.
This bright and comfortable three bedroom 1.5 bath duplex is elegantly decorated and furnished for beachfront enjoyment with lots of seashore accessories.
There is a large, sun-drenched living room with a newer blue microfiber sofa(queen sleeper), loveseat and oversized chair, picture windows on three sides with ocean views, 32" premium cable TV,VCR/DVD,wireless cable internet, premium stereo and ceiling fan.
There is a large, private deck facing the ocean for dining, sunbathing, and magnificent sunrises. The spacious decks have two chaises, outdoor pub height bar or aluminum dining table, six-eight chairs, and newer Weber propane grill on both decks. The lower unit deck also has a full size lifeguard chair. We even include beach chairs & badges.
The upper unit deck has breathtaking ocean and coastline views. There are partial views from the lower unit. You have a private beach path and can see the Atlantic City lights at night from the beach. The setting is private with the closest public access & life guard station is 100 feet away.
There are two master bedrooms, one with a queen(with high end mattress) and 1/2 bath, one with a sumptuous king. The MBR's have cable TV/DVD. The third bedroom has a pair of twin beds & TV. The bedrooms have ceiling fans. Both units sleep six to eight. The bedrooms all have ocean views, ceiling fans and have seashore themes. The full bathroom has a shower over tub combination decorated with seashore decor and bright colors.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a separate icemaker, microwave, coffee & smoothie maker, toaster, ceiling fan and a dining table that seats eight. Open the sliding doors off the deck or large glider windows throughout the home and enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean surf.
There is an outside hot & cold shower for each unit and parking for two-three cars for each unit. We even have room for one boat for each unit. We are directly on the beach. Just walk a few feet over the dune.
Forty five minutes from Atlantic City, 2 hours to Newark Airport and 90 minutes to Philadelphia Airport. This location offers great access to museums, performing art center, shopping, great restaurants, extraordinary kayaking, fishing, park for kids and surfing beaches.
The first floor has partial ocean views from the bedrooms, kitchen and spacious living room. The first floor is perfect for families with young children and/or grandparents and those who prefer less stairs to climb. The deck is completely fenced in, 5 footsteps from your sliding glass door to the beach, deck is partially protected from the sun by the second floor deck and there are less stairs(only 6)to climb.
This house is approx. 1.5 miles from the southern tip of the island and is less than 2 miles(a short walk or bike ride) south of Fantasy Island in Beach Haven town center.

You must be over 25 to rent. Weekend and midweek rentals may be available in Apr, early May, Oct & Nov.
In summary, we are directly on the beach, no short walk, only 5 steps. The location is private. There is no public beach path next to the property or motel next to or across the street from us. There are no homes between this house & the ocean blocking the views. We are truly oceanfront with unobstructed views to the north from the upper unit as the home to the north of us is one story. We are not a tired beach house that you may find without central air, ceiling fans, and with dark & uncomfortable furniture. The rooms are bright & airy with beach accessories & colors throughout. We include beach badges & chairs(a rarity). We have wireless internet(a rarity) & long distance phone service(a rarity). We have comfortable mattresses. We have newer propane grills on the deck. The lower unit has access from the parking level from the north & south to make checking in & out easier. We have 2 outside showers. We have parking for a total of 6 cars. We are committed to having our vacationers feel they are getting high value. We have many families/groups that return year after year.

No pets at any time and no smoking in the house. Most of the appliances and furniture are new. The home is constantly undergoing improvements to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Four beach badges are supplied. Professional, meticulous cleaning team utilized between changeovers. There are two outside showers, one is private. Pillows and bed spreads or duvet covers with mattress pads are provided. Linen & towel rental is available for an additional $120-150.

What a great place! We loved everything about it. The house was exactly as the pictures showed it and the description matched exactly what we got! Our kids are ages 1, 2 and 7, and we loved the direct access to the beach with no steps.
The house was comfortable and roomy, with all the needed amenties and my husband loved the ice maker!!
The adminstration of the lease and keys was very timely, as was the return of our security deposit. John even called to welcome us the day of our arrival.
We make frequent trips to LBI and loved the quiet location of the house. We will certainly keep it in mind for future rentals.

09/27/06 Positive We had a wonderful time! We had both units so all the family members and friends could have a bedroom. There was plenty of kitchen space to go around, and the living rooms were bright with very comfortable and clean furniture. After decades on LBI, the family no longer has a beach house, so this was our place to have a surprise 40th birthday celebration. The views were spectacular, weather was mostly beautiful, and we were so close to the ocean we felt like we were on the beach while sitting up on the deck. We took extra chairs for the deck but didn't need them, nor did we need extra pots and pans...the kitchen was very well equiped! We'll hope to be back to this house next year...especially now that the birthday girl has been spoiled with the oceanfront views!

09/26/06 Positive The house was great, and it was nice to be right on the beach. Accomodations were bright, with enough room for a family of 5 to spread out (kids ages are 9,11,13). The weather was spotty when we were there, but the accomodations kept us going, and it was great to be on the beach right when the weather turned in our favor. I now have some new decorating ideas! John & Diane have done a nice job with the house, and are easy owners to work with.

09/07/06 Positive This was our 2nd year renting the shore house from John and Linda, and I have to say this year was better than last. They continue upgrade the house and facilities from additional TV's, new beds to internet access. While John is the official maintenance man, Linda is the family decorator has done a great job making it feel like home not just a "shore house". As I noted last year being right on the beach is fantastic. Our grandchildren just love walking out the back door onto the beach.
Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to have a wonderful time on LBI and John and Linda can count us in again next summer.

08/05/06 Positive Having grown up vacationing in Holgate at LBI, I wanted to take my sister and mother for a vacation down memory lane. Little did I know that I would accidentally fall upon the EXACT house we had rented some 15 plus years ago! After speaking with John and reminiscing about the orange furniture that used to be in the dark wood living room, he told me that I would be pleasantly surprised by the changes! Boy, was he right! When we pulled up to the house, in mid-June, we felt a familiar pang for a place that held so many great memories. When we walked in the door we couldn't believe the bright beachy living area with comfy blue furniture and white walls. How much things had changed, for the better, and yet still felt the same. Luckily for us, one of the changes was having central air! Memories of box fans and kicking off sheets ran through our heads, but were quickly doused when we realized there were even ceiling fans to make the evenings pleasant. The weather cooperated with us that we spent almost every night with the windows wide open, allowing us to hear the ocean waves while we slept. There is nothing like it!! What a treat to spend another vacation in what felt like a home away from home to us, at our favorite place--LBI!! Thanks for the great opportunity to walk down memory lane. We will truly never forget it!

07/26/06 Positive My husband and I and our 13,18,23 year old daughters and her boyfriend stayed on the first floor july 15-22. When we walked in I couldn't believe how nice the place was decorated and the furniture was so nice and comfortable. Usually when you stay somewhere the furniture is not that good. In this house everything was thought out by the homeowners. There were Tv's dvd players and even a stereo. The beds were so nice to sleep in. Being right on the beach was the best for us, we went out and when someone got hungary they just walked up and the rest could stay. My kids had a great time we felt so at home there. Talking to John on the phone it seemed that I had known him, he was very friendly and caring about your stay. I really want to come back next year this was the best house I have ever stayed in and I have told people about it. thanks so much Diane and John for making out vacation so enjoyable and so at home.

07/03/06 Positive We stayed around the 3rd week in June on the second floor and had a great time. We took our son, 1 year old, to the beach for the first time with my brother and his family (they have a 3 year old) and everyone enjoyed it. The 2nd floor was spacious enough for all of us and the deck and view is amazing. Our son goes to bed early, by 7pm, so we spent many evenings on the deck watching the ocean. It was also great being so close to the beach with the small children. John called to check on us when we arrived and shortly afterwards the air conditioning was having problems, we called John and it was addressed immediately. We have spent many vacations on LBI but never rented a house so close to the beach, we loved it and would recommend it again. Also, we rented a crib from Jobes,now the Boardwalk, on Johns recommendation and they were great. We plan on renting again in the future.

07/02/06 Positive Hi John -- We rented the top unit the 2nd week in June '06 and had a great time. The weather was wonderful, the place was very fresh and breezy. All of the TV's were quite an asset since we had members of 3 different families with different tastes. I just love the ice maker and the outdoor bar. We brought a tiki umbrella to dress it up. It was very clean and comfortable and hearing the waves all day and night was very relaxing. My nieces from N.M. loved it also. They don't get to the ocean very often, even though one wants to be a marine biologist. Thank you so much for a very memorable time and it was very kind of you to call us our first night to make sure everything was okay. Oh and the washer and dryer are the most quiet and efficient I have used. A great asset to have it on the living level. Thank you again.

06/26/06 Positive My Family stayed in the Upper Level at John and Diane's wonderful Beach House for 8 days the first week of June. This Ocean Front has all the comforts of home, from all the cooking utensals you could think of, to a gas grill on the deck, to a TV and DVD in every room. The home is tastefully decorated, comfortable, and very clean. If you're up for awesome views of the ocean from your deck and most every window in the house, and the soothing sound of the surf breaking yards from your doorstep, the Turcott's home is where you'll find it. The added convenience of the wireless network allowed us to stay an extended time because I was able to manage my workplace responsibilities directly from the deck overlooking the ocean, nice touch, John. My son and his friend were up at 8am skimboarding in the low tide and I was able to watch them from the kitchen table (Beach access is direcly behind the house). I really hated to leave this wonderful Ocean Front. John checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable and shared some beach house lore, this is a terrific owner who is always taking suggestions and making improvments. We will be renting from these wonderful owners again this fall.

06/16/06 Positive I stayed in the lower level of the beach house unit with 5 other adults, and our vacation stay was like an unreal dream! The rental is very well taken care of, clean, cozy, nicely decorated, very inviting, and fully accomodating. I must say that it is a largely significant difference to have stayed at a rental on the oceanfront. Most importantly, John was the most hospitable, accomodating, sincere rentor I have ever met- he was like the "cake icing" to our ever so pleasant stay. I wish every rentor cared about their tenants and rentals as much as John did. I would most definately reccommend this beach house rental to anyone (but with hesitancy, in fear that this comment may potentially over-book his rental to the point that I wouldn't be able to book for next season!)

Our vacations at Diane & John Turcott's vacation home over the past two years have been the most enjoyable, comfortable, as well as being "just like home" but better. 04/29/06 Positive April 2006 I had a wonderful time at this great beach house. Every gismo you could want is there for you. I've never rented a home SO CLOSE to the crashing surf. I felt like I was at the helm of an ocean liner (without the sea sickness) Off season the home was warm and cozy inside, I was often the only person walking the beach. The land lord was kind and a joy to deal with.

We are the couple that was with the wedding group the third week of April 2006.
We couldn't have had a better time; the weather was great, what more could we have asked for. Everything was great, the house, the view, and the sounds of the ocean.
We would recommend your place to anyone and everyone.
Just to let you know, I left our key with the young ladies that rented the place after us so they could have 2 keys they took over from us on Friday the 21 of April.

As you know we are expecting our second child and travel would be impossible for the time frame we planned. I am due only 2 weeks after we are booked with you!!! 01/18/2006 Wonderful relaxing place to spend Thanksgiving with the family! We rented both the upstairs and downstairs and were very pleasantly surprised with the decorating and special touches! The furniture was very comfortable! The weather could have cooperated a little better, but it was November! Great being able to look out over the ocean and to be so close! are big enough to give a pleasing panoramic view
of the ocean. The owner was a pleasure to deal
with, and quickly responded to any questions. The
furniture is very comfortable and looks new. Each
bedroom had 2 new, white dressers so there was
plenty of room for storing clothes. The kitchen
table was nice and big with plenty of room for 8
people. Lots of new appliances in kitchen, and a
very cool outdoor bar for the deck. Would definitely
stay here again.
05/14/2005 We enjoyed our stay so much....the view over breakfast, is spectacular.Dolphins swimming by every morning to give us our own nature show.
The house is decorated in blues and white, clean and unpretentious, and best of all right on the beach.
It's close enough to Beach Haven to have access when you want to, and quiet when you don't. We stayed on the second floor and I would recommend it to anyone.

07/11/2005 We had a great time at LBI and John and Diane have really made the house a nice place to stay. The house really looks just like the pictures on the website. We stayed on the 1st floor and it was terrific being able to just walk out the back door onto the deck and to walk just a few steps to the beach with my grandchildren. John even stopped by during the week to make sure everything was OK. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to spend some fun time "on the beach".
