"Bayview/Recompensa" Experience a "Down East" lifestyle getaway in our brand-new Lindhal home built in 2003 on Long Island, a short ferry ride from Portland, Maine yet light years away from the hustle and bustle of life on the mainland. Situated on five acres of pristine island waterfront property on Casco Bay... tranquility, serenity, and ultimate privacy afford you the ability to relax and experience true Maine island living at its best with close proximity to Portland you are never very far away from anything that downtown Portland has to offer.

We are accepting reservations for stays of one week or longer for the spring, summer and fall of 2010. Email or call us for additional information.

Bed Set Up: one queen, one full, two twins, and one sleep sofa.

We have two white sand uncrowded beaches for you to enjoy on the island that is two-and-one-half miles long and one-half mile wide... a general store and post office, restaurant, library, conservation trails, fishing, tennis courts, a lobster pound, and the best sunsets that you will ever see setting over Mount Washington on clear nights from our wraparound deck. Frequent ferry service from Portland gives you access to a multitude of cultural activities and anything that a large city has to offer a stone's throw away yet far removed from the bustling crowds. So come and enjoy the peace and solitude of our new island home on Casco Bay and share the romance and history of Long Island.

Our home offers ocean views from every room with panoramic views of Casco Bay and distant views of Mount Washington. So relax and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets, the lobster boats at your front door, and the tranquility of our new island home.

Other amenities include deep-water mooring for your boat, wraparound deck, close to ferry landing, distant views of Mount Washington, house sits on five acres overlooking Casco Bay, and short ferry ride from Portland.

A beautiful week, June 29, 2009

The house was great - a wall of windows faced Casco Bay. Even though we had only one sunny day it was great to be on the water. Very comfortable living space. The ferry service to Portland was good and we went to the mainland a couple of times, but we mostly enjoyed just "being". The owners were very helpful with information about the island - and the islanders were very friendly. We cooked fresh lobster from the local lobster pound for two of our evening meals - fantastic. One of my best vacations ever. Thank you to the Hebbs.

The home was as advertised. We had a wonderful week and only left the island once. The house, island, and view was just what the "doctor" ordered. Total rest and relaxation for the two of us. The amenities were there for our use and allowed us to do all of the cooking we needed or wanted to, including a couple of nights where we cooked for four. The owner was extremely nice and helpful before and during our stay. My wife and I would very much recommend this house to anyone who just wants to "get away" for a week or longer. Even the trip "to town" for a nice dinner or a little nightlife was very relaxing and enjoyable.
