Description of the Lords Valley vacation home rental

This uniquely beautiful ranch-style home is luxuriously furnished with high quality mission furniture. There are hardwood floors or carpeting throughout, custom blinds and draperies and tongue-and-grove paneling. The kitchen and bathrooms have ceramic tile and Corian counters with custom oak cabinets. The kitchen has double ovens and is fully equipped. The living room has a gas fireplace. There are dimmers throughout the house, with recessed lighting. The main living area is air conditioned. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The 3 season Florida room is gigantic and is suitable for dining or just relaxing. There is a propane fueled barbeque grill on the outside deck, just waiting for your burgers.

There are 3 TV’s, stereo, VCR and DVD player and WiFi for wireless internet access. Board games are available for children and adults. The home has a game room with bar, a pool table and air hockey game. The outdoor Hot Tub is located in a secluded area in back of the house, a few feet from the screened-in porch.

The house is located on an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds including walking paths, a wishing well, a swing glider overlooking the water. The paths lead to the dock and 160 ft of shoreline! You can enjoy boating and fishing with our boat as well as the picturesque view. The large, long paved driveway will accommodate many cars. It is lined with lighting, triggered by a sensor.

Area Information

Our Poconos vacation home is in Hemlock Farms, A beautiful 4,500 acre recreational community located in northeastern Pennsylvania in the Poconos. The community has more than 700 acres of forested land and 4 lakes for fishing, swimming and boating. It has many recreational amenities including 2 outdoor Olympic sized swimming pools with bathhouses, 10 tennis courts, 2 baseball fields, ice skating, childrens playground, and more. The major facility is a Community Clubhouse that includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, kiddy pool, Jacuzzi, locker rooms, fitness center, etc. The community is gated, with a full-time security staff.

It is within walking distance to the Fawn Hill Recreation Area, which is part of the Hemlock Farms recreation facilities. This area has an Olympic sized swimming pool, playground, day camp, ball fields, fitness trail, picnic tables and more!

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

State game lands in the area are for hunting, hiking and camping and shooting. Other nearby activities include golf, horseback riding, paintball-skirmish, kayaking, miniature golf, go-karts and arena roller skating. Lake Wallenpaupak has motor boating, sailing and water skiing. There is a family fun park as well as a fun house with bumper cars, miniature golf and a spectacular array of computer and arcade games. Winter activities include skiing, ice skating, tubing, snowmobiling and cross country skating.

There are a variety of restaurants in the immediate area, as well as many more if you travel a few miles to Hawley, Honesdale, Millford and other nearby towns. There are numerous antique shops just a short distance away as well as several interesting museums. The Crossings Outlet features many discount stores with your favorite brands. Bushkill Falls (the Niagara of the Poconos) offers hiking with a spectacular view of cascading water. There is casino gambling at the Mt. Airy Lodge as well as a fabulous gourmet buffet.

Wonderful Family Vacation Home in the Poconos

July 31, 2012

Our family rented this beautiful lakefront home for a week in July (7 adults and 7 girls, ages 11 - 17). The gameroom was the perfect place for the girls to listen to music, play the Wii and watch movies - in addition to enjoying the pool table and air hockey table. The oversized dining room table allowed us to play board games or cards at night. There is a large, beautiful screened-in porch, which was perfect for coffee, reading the paper in the morning and enjoying quiet conversation. Just off the porch is an outdoor hot tub. The grounds also have a glider swing and a row boat . Within a very short walking distance is a wonderful playground and a ball diamond, which we used to play softball numerous times. The association was just putting in the finishing touches on a brand new community pool next to the playground. The kitchen is fully stocked and the home also has a large outdoor gas grill. A grocery store is only minutes away. A short drive away is an existing community pool, which has indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, sauna, hot tub and steam room. Elm Beach is on the way to the pool, but you could certainly walk to the beach from the home if you weren't carrying too much. Although we didn't discover any walking trails nearby, we did take several long walks around our part of the community. Our entire group also took a side trip to Bushkill Falls (about 40 minutes away), which was beautiful. I highly recommend it!One rainy day, the older girls went to the mall, but the drive was over an hour. Instead of the mall, my husband and I opted to take our youngest to a very cool old-fashioned theater that offers a gazillion flavors of ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, burgers, fries, etc. that you can eat in the dining area or enjoy during the movie. The theater was in Mt. Pocono (about 40 minutes away). There is also a casino in the same vicinity. I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking for a quiet get-away.
