A charming, quiet fishing village on the Baja Peninsula bordering the Sea of Cortez, the town's official slogan is "300 Years Old and Still Undiscovered."
There is plenty to do here, but not the glitz and glamour of the large Mexican resorts. Loreto is a fishing paradise for marlin, dorado, yellowtail, sailfish and the highly prized rooster fish. Whale watching is spectacular, especially when you spot the huge blue whales that make this their breeding grounds. Or go kayaking, scuba diving, golf, beachcombing, or relax and enjoy the magical mountain vistas and sunsets from your own private beach!
Loreto has a quaint downtown area with shaded plazas (clean, safe and friendly), and great, reasonable restaurants. You can boat to the nearby pristine islands of Coronado or Carmen and snorkel in the crystal-clear water or sunbathe on soft sand beaches.

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico
Hi Karen,
Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time staying at your Beach house- that is really a great place. Our kids had fun playing on the beach, and it was really nice to have a comfortable house to just “hang out”. We followed many of your comments for where to eat, and where to buy stuff. We loved Conchita’s store, and enjoyed eating at the Fish Taco Stand, La Palapa, etc. We saw lots of whales, and want to come back a little earlier in the year (maybe February) because we hear there are many more whales around then- that trip may have to wait another couple years. We also had fun staying at Bob’s house- he was a very nice host. You know how to pick your vacation home locations, Kennicott and Loreto.
Once again, thanks so much for everything.
David

Karen,
Loreto rules! We loved it and we want to go back.
Our stay at your home was awesome! The best vacation I have ever had. We rented a jeep and went up to the mission, hiked that creek up there, swam in the ocean, used neighbor's sea kayaks for free twice, (I caught a ton of fish out of the kayak and gave them to the locals), we went out with Antonio and landed 8 yellowtail about 35 to 40 pounds each (brought back 80 pounds of fillets), used the mt' bikes and biked all around town. I was swimming 12 miles out in the ocean after we caught our yellowtail. I dove, kayaked, and swam a lot. Sandie and I had the best time with each other, a real honeymoon after we renewed our wedding vows the Friday day before we left for Loreto. I want to go back for sure, maybe bring the whole family next year. How are you for booking for next year?
That Loreto Bay is just weird though. An eco-town? Where are you supposed to park your boat? Your truck? No thanks, not for me. That place is like a ghost town anyway, an empty golf course? No way.
I would like to buy a place down there really.
We made some great friends down there.

Hi Karen......Well, we made it home to Arizona today from Loreto. Had a wonderful week and will definately be going back! The guys fished 4 days with Friday being the best fishing that my husband and his buddy have ever experienced! Great, great day! We also made the trip to the Javier Mission.....amazing along with seeing whales, snorkeling etc. Your home was so comfortable and made for an awesome week. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. We enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a GREAT time.
Thanks for everything......
Jan
