Description of the Lummi Island vacation cottage rental

The Beachcomber is a bright and charming cottage situated on the southwest side of Lummi Island. Panoramic views of Legoe Bay and the outer San Juans are breathtaking and the private no-bank beach is perfect for launching your kayak.

This home features new and tasteful furnishings, high quality mattresses and linens, as well as a propane fireplace, large front deck, an outdoor gas grill and fire pit.

The cottage is private and immaculate and caters to children as well as pets. Some wonderful guest services are available including mountain bike rentals, interim housekeeping, in-house massage.

Area Description

Lummi Island is unique in its close proximity to the mainland and the fact that it is served by its own vehicle ferry. The ferry makes the 10 minute crossing at least one an hour from 6 am to midnight each and every day.

You will be able to enjoy the treasures of island life, as well as mainland exploration. Day trips to the cities of Vancouver, BC Canada or Seattle, WA are perfectly within reason, as is hiking Mt. Baker, Whale Watching and visiting some of the other San Juan Islands.

Required Stay: Minimum Rate: 3 Nights
Lodging Tax: 10.4% Sales Tax
Deposits: All rentals are subject to a $500 security deposit regardless of the length of stay.
Other Fees: Rates are based upon an occupancy of 4 (including pets) Additional occupants are charged at the rate of $15 per night. A housekeeping fee of $75 applies. LATE CHECKOUT available when possible!

If the weather was any better we couldn't believe it! Beautiful sunny days, warm afternoons, calm waters in the morning. Two former park rangers, one who is now retired :), LOVED EVERY MINUTE! Mt. Baker, the beach combing, taking a tour of Lummi Island... reading, walking, relaxing and playing with our Laboradors. It doesn't get much better than this. We will be back! Thanks much for such a wonderful, nicely decorated and very comfortable place to stay. Oh and recommended read while you're here: Shared Heritage-A History of Lummi Island.

Had a lovely relaxing time in such a beautiful location We found the house to be extremely comfortable and very peaceful. Enjoyed watching the Blue Heron, a beautiful pair of Kingfishers and the Seals.

We are a long way from home but couldn't hope to stay in a more perfect place. Hope we'll come back one day!

We were blessed with some of the most beautiful days of summer (90 deg). What a treat to be on the waterfront and still wear shorts and a t-shirt. :) Last nights whipped up winds captivated our attention as we watched the anchored sailboats dance on the waves!

Upon our return from Bellingham, we were surprised upon entry by a feathered friend that had likely found it's way indoors via a small opening in the bathroom window!! I was glad I had brought my "friends" with me or who knows what antics may have taken place!
