Description of the Lummi Island vacation home rental

The Perfect Vacation Spot - Located off the NW corner of Washington State in the San Juan Islands this waterfront property overlooks Hales Passage, majestic Mount Baker and the Chilliwak Mountains of Canada. The home has many special touches designed by the artist owner. There are two fireplaces, cozy furnishings to complete the northwest feel and the home comes stocked with all bedding, towels, kitchen appliances and spices, flour, foil etc. We also can provide bicycles for a nominal fee. ADDITIONAL ISLAND PROPERTIES ARE AVAILABLE

Area Description

Lummi Island is the secret "GEM" of the San Juan Islands. Here you can enjoy Biking, Walking, Kyaking, Sailing Bird watching and Boating. Join Capt. Charlie for your own personalized sailing trip to the other San Juan Islands. For children ages 3 to 12 there is "Common Threads Farm" which is designed to expose children to a farm and garden natural learning environment. They come home dirty as this is a real hands on experience.

The island has two main sections. The north end which makes a circle from the ferry, around to the west side and back. This is a great biking route as you are by the water most of the time and the south end which has more hills.

Access to the island is via a car/passenger ferry from the mainland with the trip only 8 minutes and hourly plus runs from 6 am to midnight. The nearest large city is Bellingham known for its trail systems, water access, skiing at Mt. Baker and the home of Western Washington University. The cosmopolitan cities of Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. are approximately a 1 1/2hours drive.

This home is fully equiped and tastefully decorated down to the smallest detail with many of the special touches designed by the artist owner. The property comes with access to a private community beach.

Payment Options: Cashier's Check, Money Order, Personal Check
Check In: 4 p.m.
Check Out: 11 a.m.
Required Stay: Peak Season 7 nights (Friday to Friday) unless there is a last minute availability. Stays for last minute availability is 3 (three) nights / Off Season: 3 night minimum
Lodging Tax: 10.4%
Deposits: A deposit of one half of the total rental amount required within 7 days of conformation to secure reservation. Full payment plus sales tas, security deposit and cleaning fee is due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations made less than 30 (thirty) days require payment in full.
Other Fees: A security deposit of $500 for homes that rent for $1500 per week and $800 for homes $1600 per week and more. Pets require and additional security deposit of $250 and $15 per day.

A Waterfront Beauty, December 31, 2008

Upon walking into this home, you are greeted with a breathtaking view of the bay through huge, angled windows. One side has an unobstructed view of the water and the mainland shore, while the other is graced with tall pines, giving the feeling of being in a tree house. The master bedroom is lovely with a gas fireplace, lamps, candles, a very comfortable bed, and a recliner for reading. The house is decorated with the owner's beautiful pottery, from bowls and platters on the tables and walls, to mugs and bowls for use in the kitchen. You can tell this home is well loved and cared for. We spent many hours playing games, reading and eating. It felt like home away from home. We hope to return someday.
