This open concept waterfront with beach home has magnificent water and mountain views. It is nestled in the woods giving it the privacy needed for a peaceful vacation. The main level has a living room with cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling windows which flood the home with light and bring the outside in. There is also a massive rock fireplace perfect for cozy intimate evenings. The kitchen is large enough for multiple cooks and the breakfast bar seating is perfect for the "kibitzers". There is a dining area, den/bedroom, full bath, half bath and laundry room to complete this level. On the upper level is a very large master suite with ensuite bant that has a jetted tub double lavs and separate shower. There are 2 additional bedrooms and another full bath. The home is tastefully decorated and fully equipped awaiting the most discerning guests. Perfect for larger groups.

Take a short walk down the path and enjoy the beach. Sip your morning brew on the deck and watch the eagles soar and the sun rise on beautiful Mt. Baker.

Area Description

Lummi Island is a short 7 minute ferry ride from the mainland and 20 minutes to downtown Bellingham. The island is part of the San Juan chain and on a clear day you can actually see Vancouver Island in Canada. It is home to many artists and they open their shops to the public on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. It is a peaceful island close to the mainland but a world away. We enjoy bike riding, walking, bird watching, kayaking and boating. There are bikes to rent on the island as well as sailing trips, and kayak excursions. We also have a unique way of fishing called Reef Neting. During the month of July there is a Reef Net Festival where you can go out to the boats and see how this is done. There is also fresh salmon, spot shrimp and other fresh shell fish to purchase. The Islander grocery store has just about everything you might need. There is a Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings but a couple of the farms are open every day for fresh Organic in season produce. If you don't feel like cooking you can dine at any of our three restaurants. Canada is about 45 minutes to the north for a day trip and there are lots of golf courses in the area.

Lodging Tax: 10.5%
Deposits: Deposit is 1/2 of the rent due within 7 days of receiving the contract.
Other Fees: Cleaning Fee of $150.00 WA State Tax of 8.5% Lodging Tax of 2% Refundable Security Deposit of $700

Great house for a group, August 13, 2008

This house worked great for our multi-family engagement party. Location, layout and view were all excellent. Everything the multiple BBQs and well stocked kitchen were a plus, except the coffee maker needs to be replaced.
