Description of the Lunenburg vacation home rental

120 year old fully renovated and equipped 3 bedroom 2 bath ocean front farmhouse located five minutes drive or 10 minute walk, from the quaint UNESCO world heritage town of Lunenburg Nova Scotia. The house is south facing waterfront, on a private and tranquil 2 acre meadow with visiting deer and pheasant. Enjoy sunrise and sunset on the verandah overlooking the Bay's clear water. Five minute drive to Lunenburg’s restaurants, shops, museums and golf club. Larder stocked with complimentary wine, milk and juice, coffee, tea, cocoa, flour, sugar,brown sugar oatmeal,rice,olive oil, honey,spices. Dish soap,laundry detergent, shampoo,soap and body wash included. Beach towels, bags and mats in closet.

Area Information

Enjoy the history of the town of Lunenburg, founded in 1753. A visit to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic or a sail on Bluenose ll when in port are a must. Rent a fishing boat at the harbour 5 minutes away. Enjoy scenic drives along the coast to seaside towns such as Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay, Chester and Annapolis Royale. Sandy beaches, such as Hirtles Beach, Cresccent Beach, sailing and fishing are just a short drive from the house. Amazing scenery coupled with historic, marine and Scottish culture. Close to shopping centres and all amenities.Excellent restaurants featuring fresh seafood and many cuisines. Arts and crafts and quaint shops abound in the town and surrounding areas.

Old-time charm by the sea

Tonight is our last night at the farmhouse. We had a lovely time. We're from Vermont, which is known for it's rustic beauty. The Lunenburg farmhouse reminded me of spending time at my grandmother's in the country when I was young, berry picking, lilac bushes, sitting on the porch, surrounded by peaceful nature (but in this case on a serene ocean). A quick drive into the very center of town or about a 40 minute walk (I walked into town several times, while my parents chose the 5 minute drive) we had the best of both worlds - town when we felt like it and peaceful time on the porch, looking at deer, blue herons, red squirrels. There was an eagle nest just down the street. The house was very well appointed, completely updated and nicely furnished. We loved spending time here. We saw deer in the backyard most evenings. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Oceanfront Farmhouse

August 25, 2012

We had a great time at this farmhouse perched on a quiet ocean inlet. Just outside of town, it was great to wake up to the calm, and come home and relax. Quick drive into town for all the action we needed whether it was a quick grocery trip, or a stop at the Knot in town for a nightcap and karaoke. The house was spacious, well setup, well stocked and we were very pleased with the whole place... would love to visit it again soon.
