Beautiful beach 2 steps away!

The beach really is beautiful. The condo had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equiped. Beach towels, chairs and even a snorkel and mask to see the fish at the small reef, were available to use. We stayed only 4 days, without a car, but we were able to get around Luquillo on foot to the few restaurants, coffee shop, Amigos grocery store and kioskos. In the day a lot retirees are out for their walks. It is quiet at night, not many people are out. We were reminded twice by strangers to be careful walking about at night. We didn't see, hear or run into any problems; we were careful and but at the same time a little bit apprehensive and would have preferred the use of a car at night. All in all a really good stay. We would go back for a longer stay, but would rent a car.

A beautiful View

The aprtment was great for my family. It had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. To wake up in the morning and see the ocean was amazing. We went to Puerto Rico for a wedding and this location was perfect for it. We were close to everything. The stores and kiosks were down the street and around the corner. The rainforest (too beautiful and amazing) was very close. San Juan was only 30-35 min away. My kids loved the beach and we were there everyday, even on the wedding day! So convenient for the beach to be right across the street. The apartment had everything for the beach like chairs, toys, and came with towels. The apartment was very cozy and very easy to make ourselves at home. I would recommend it to everyone.

The property was nice, right on the beach which was great. Very active beach on the weekend. Quite with many retirees during the week. You can walk to Monserrate Beach from here (great !). Good boogie boarding on beach but not good for swimming for little ones, Monserrate is excellent for this. The apartment was well stocked and there is a great cafeteria right next to the Brass Cactus that serves great sandwiches for a very reasonable price. Good value !

Great way to spend the Winter

Our stay in Luquillo lasted 2 months - Jan & Feb of 2012. This condo, in the Arenamar Complex, was the most comfortable and convenient location that we could have imagined. The premises were clean, bright, and airy with a 170 degree view of the ocean and and palm trees. Every morning we were greeted with a tropical sunrise which warmed us as we had a coffee on the balcony! From the coffee maker in the AM to the Grill for dinner, all equipment was provided including full size refrigerator, washer/dryer (what a blessing), stove, and fully equipped utensils - plates, silverware, glasses & cups. The microwave, toaster oven, & toaster were most welcome. The beds were all equipped with new firm mattresses which made sleeping a real dream! Although the temp in Jan & Feb was in the 80's we did not need the A/C because of the wonderful breeze off the ocean all day long. Since we were there for 2 months, we met some of the neighbors - all nice people - as well as our landlord - Juan Carlos. He was very responsive and helpful with advice and a minor stove burner repair. The location made it possible for us to walk to the Amigo grocery store, Walgreens Drugs as well as at least a dozen local (very tasty) restaurants. We also walked to the Blue Flag Beach (Montserrat) and ate in the famous Kioskos that are adjacent to the beach. The flat screen TV let us look at both English and Spanish stations and the private WiFi let me use my computer with security of not being on a shared network. Overall, the stay at Juan Carlos' property could not have been more pleasant or comfortable. Even our car was secure behind security gates. We plan to return to Puerto Rico and will certainly check to be sure that there is an opening here for us to stay!

We had an excellent time in this condo. It's the perfect place when you want a get away with a beautiful beach just few steps from you! The condo has all the amenities was clean, and well maintained. I love the view from the balcony and at nights the breeze and the sound from the beach was amazing!! Also you have many places to visit like the Rain Forest El Yunque, Old San Juan; I can’t wait to go back again!

The apartment is only a few steps on the beach and has everything that one needs for a comfortable stay. I think it's especially nice for a family vacation. (It even comes with games, beach chairs, and a washer/dryer so it will save you money). There are lots of stores and restaurants nearby - probably will need a car to get around but the parking is secure. The beach gets very crowded on weekends but is virtually empty during the week. The famous kiosks are less than a mile away. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Couldn't ask for better

We stayed at a nice condo in the same area a few years ago, but this place was far superior. As previous reviewers have said, the location is incredible, and the kitchen is better outfitted than my own. The major appliances are new and of good quality, and the beds and linens top notch. This is the best possible location in all PR: don't miss the natural rock water slides near the rainforest, the Hacienda Carabali horses and ATV's, the Cabezas de San Juan nature reserve and biobay just north of Fajardo, and of course Old San Juan. Everything is within 45 minutes or less driving time. We took 2 6-year-old grandkids and saved a TON of money cooking breakfast and dinners at the apartment, and avoiding greasy restaurant food probably spared my husband a coronary. Juan Carlos and his wife Mildred are extraordinarily accommodating. The nighttime breezes blowing through the apartment and the singing frogs are a lovely memory. Use bug repellent on the beach if sand mites find you delicious.

The apartment is close to the best beach in PR. It was modest, clean and had basically everything we needed. Whatever went wrong was fixed immediately so I would have to say that the service was excellent. The area is safe and beautiful.Shopping is close by and it was quiet and private. It had an excellent view of the ocean and we loved hearing the sound of the coqui every night.

Juan Carlos did a great job with the apartment - very clean and perfect location for exploring Puerto Rico. I would definitely stay here instead of San Juan - it is well worth it!!! A+ experience - great memories - great vacation place.

Nice and comfortable apartment equipped with all amenities. Close to restaurants and shopping centers. Beautiful beach with emerald green water just across the street. Just perfect. The only down side is that on weekends traffic is horrific.

It was a very nice place. Close to stores,restaurants. The beaches were awesome and so was security. We rented a car (which I recommend) to do a little sightseeing but enjoyed the beautiful beach that was right in front of the apartment.

Fabulous Apartment

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 9 nights. We loved it. Bonuses: the queen sized bed was comfortable! The sheets and towels were plentiful and high quality. The owner was responsive and met us at the airport to give us keys and directions. The beach is right there, a stones throw away. The public beach (the most beautiful in Puerto Rico according to all guide books and me!) 1/2 mile away. I have to say that Mr. Rodriguez was a pleasure to work with and that made it best of all. Great vacation

It was great having a fully furnished, comfortable affordable apartment next to the beach. The apartment was centrally located to the Fajardo ferry to Culebra and Vieques, the rainforest and San Juan. The main beach in Luquillo was beautiful. The apartment did not have A/C in the main living area, which concerned us at first, but a nice ocean breeze and the sound of coqui tree frogs made open windows a plus (The bedroom A/C's were great for comfortable sleeping). The landlord was responsible, honest, punctual and accomodating. I'm sure he'd have been fine if we had chosen to bug him more. The apartment was a short drive to restaurants and a large supermarket. We had a hard time with driving around because of poorly marked streets, and we were saved by our portable car GPS navigator. The security at the apartment was so heavy that we wondered if Luquillo was safe, but we never had a problem when we were out at stores or restaurants. Great food & people, (so-so beer) Great vacation!

Lovely apartment in a great location

Lovely little apartment right on beautiful Luquillo beach. The apartment was clean and comfortable, very nicely decorated. Just a tad small for 4 adults, perfect for a family. Quiet neighborhood. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Great seafood restaurant nearby.
