Description of the Luquillo vacation apartment rental

Truly unique oceanfront apt. with WIFI for nature lovers. Amazing waterfront walk up, near Luquillo Kiosks with breathtaking views. Near El Yunque rainforest, Balneario Monserrate public beach, Riomar Beach and Golf Resort, El Conquistador Hotel, Horseback riding, Fajardo Bioluminiscent Bay, kayaking, visit the island of Vieques and/or Culebra taking a ferry from Fajardo, and many other attractions.

Two bedroom two bathroom apartment on second floor, the best ocean view in the building. One king size bed, one queen size and two twin futons in the living room, with WIFI, cable TV in living room and master bedroom. Full kitchen with spice rack and all amenities but oven; we do have a toaster oven and a microwave. Refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, wine opener, etc.

Hear the waves break from anywhere in the condo; just go down a few steps, open the gate to the ocean and you are in paradise. Swin at your own risk, since there are no life guards. Sometimes the waves are big and they take away the beach, but you always have the public "Monserrate Beach or" Balneario de Luquillo"" a few minutes away which is calm and gorgeous all year round.

Linens, towels, beach chairs and coolers, papers (toilet, paper towel, napkins) are provided for your use.

Area Information

From the airport you go towards Fajardo, get on Route 66 to the end and take a right on Rd #3 towards Fajardo. Go straight on #3. Keep left until you reach Km. 33.4 (Rd. 193) and make a left turn (there is a sign that says Yunque Mar Beach Hotel). You drive till the end of the road 1 or 2 mins and take another left. 1 miinute later on the right hand side (ocean) you will find BELLO MAR APARTMENTS (right on the Atlantic ocean it's the last and newest walk up built in the area. It's on the same beach strip as the Yunquemar Beach Hotel.

Been in Paradise...

My first encounter with this paradise was on 2009 when writing my book, Acto Sexual. Since then, every year my ocean and sky encounter while been at Bello Mar takes place in order to keep me going. Listening to the constant sound of the ocean, been just there, been able to enjoy cruises when leaving PR and to embrace myself with pure energy in the precise location where the ocean meets the river is just magic... is PARADISE. Facilities are perfect, location near everything including designers shopping paradise are just some of the amenities I enjoy.

Nice place for a family

Edna was very gracious with us and fixed the AC unit and internet when we had problems with it. She also kindly bought a spice rack for us. She and her husband were excellent to rent from. Otherwise the place is fantastic. I did not realize how loud the ocean is so shut the windows if you want to watch a movie, because you are literally on top of the ocean. It is fantastic to sit on the porch and you are literally 15 mins from the rain forest at El Yunque. Also there is a nice beach in front of the condo most of the year although not in the winter when we went. No biggie though you can walk down the street from the condo a bit and cut through the basketball court to get to the beach and the beautiful river upstream. It flows into the sea and has a gorgeous view of El Yunque. I have even heard in other reviews of people going to the pool and cabana in the resort on the other side of the river. You are also minutes from the main beach in Luquillo and tons of great restaurants which Edna helped us with. Also check out Fajardo (Las Cabezas) which has some great restaurants and ocean views. The neighborhood is typical Puerto Rico and like other places there are walls and a security gate. We walked around and everything was fine. Overall a great stay, a beautiful bay, and attentive service. Thanks

A vacation in paradise.

A friend and I recently had the pleasure of spending two weeks in Luquillo at the Bello Mar 'Apartment of Edna Martinez. The pictures of the ocean view from the balacony don't do it justice. The ocean waves came to the property edge. We fell asleep to to sounds of the ocean. The sunrises were breathtaking as we did yoga on the spaceous balcony. AT night we gazed out to the ocean by the light of the moon. Edna made sure we had everything we needed as far as cooking , cleaning, laudry, towels,beach chairs, coolers, etc. The beds were so comfortable. The showere had ample warm water for showers.. We walked the beaches everyday enjoying day after day of wam and sunny weather.We were very pleased with our stay and look forward to another visit. Luquillo is a quiet, lovely vacation destination. The local kioskos provided temtpig delicious local foods at reasonable prices. Try the mufungo with creole sause with rice and plantain cups filled with crab. Vacationing in Luquillo at Ednas' lovely beachfront apartment was one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy the beauty of the ocean and Puerto Rico. Pass up the hectic crowded city of San Juan and relax at beautiful Bello Mar Apartments. Not having a car proved to be no problem as we could walk nearly everywhere. When a car was needed local taxis were prompt and reasonable. We did take advantage of several tours to the rain forest and Old San Juan offered by the nearby Rio Mar Resort. We discovered a small convienient store a block away from our apt. that offered warm breads delivered daily for breakfast. A small local resturant had tasty breakfasts, lunches, and dinners where we met many friendly locals. The mufungo is so good! I fell in love with the fried plantains and the Mahi-mahi . At the nearby beach we rented a lawn chair for $1 for the day, enjoyed shish-kabobs of plaintains and chicken with pina coladas in coconut shells. We feel in love with our 'home away from home" in Luquillo. You will ,too. Our hostess, Edna was very helpful giving lots of information to make our trip a wonderful time. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, clean with the best view of the ocean anyone could want!. Our two weeks went much too fast.
