Description of the Luray vacation cabin rental
Our private river access is less than a mile walk from the cabin. We are also within a half an hour of many popular attractions such as canoeing or tubing on the historic Shenandoah River, hiking in the Shenandoah National Park, horseback riding, or fly-fishing on a mountain stream. You can take a drive along Skyline Drive or explore the depths of Luray Caverns, or just browse for antiques in downtown Luray. For children there is Jellystone Park with miniature golf and the Luray Reptile Center and Petting Zoo. Massanutten Ski Resort is only 45 minutes away.
The Cabin is a great base for year round activities in the mountains of Virginia. Come enjoy the privacy of your very own cabin in the woods.

Beautiful Place

Picturesque place with amazing deck looking out on the river. We brought our dogs who loved running around the property. Any gripe I might have would be with the national park itself, as Skyline Drive sort of offered the same view over and over with each lookout point. Only could do one hike, which was nothing special. I probably should see more of the park though to be fair. I lived out west for a long time as well and I am used to bigger mountains also to be fair. Wish I had spent all my time at River's nest with that in mind. Still a gorgeous area.

Bill, We are glad you enjoyed your time at the Chalet. You should definitely give the Shenandoah National Park another visit. Although our mountains are not big in size they are majestic and many of the hikes are absolutely magical. We hope you can return again and explore deeper into the Shenandoah Valley.

What a wonderful week at this cabin! We celebrated our wedding anniversary in seclusion! It was great! We had a very spring time experience... it started off hot outside and the owner of the cabin put in the AC for us. By the end of the week we needed to use the fireplace. We have been trying to figure out when we can come visit again! We loved the cabin and the area. We visited the cabins, took a drive to Monticello, went horseback riding, among other things. Thanks for having the "book" of activities available... it helped us out a lot.

The cabin was quaint and secluded. The space was comfortable and the inside was clean. The porch was dirty and loaded with dead bugs and such. We were constantly fighting off large ants in the house and a mouse got in somehow and ate our bread and left his droppings everywhere. With an occasional cleaning of the porch (dust and bugs) and spraying for ants and mice, it would be a great place to stay.

We had a wonderful weekend at the cabin. The cabin is cozy and very well maintained. We spent more time on the screened porch (hot tub, hammock, picnic table) then inside the cabin. Great place to visit with your pets. Close enough to the river for some good fishing/boating. We'll be sure to visit again.

What a beautiful house and setting. The pictures don't do it justice. Everything about this place exceeded expectations. The bedrooms are huge. We especially enjoyed the massive kitchen and screened in porch. There is a large yard with a fire pit where we made many a s'mores and gazed at constellations. THe owners even made up cookies. Already planning our trip next year!

We enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful two weeks in this spacious, well-equipped home with its fabulous views of the mountains. The screened porch was a real treat, allowing us to enjoy meals and socializing without any worries of bugs. The location between Front Royal and Luray made shopping easy and we enjoyed other day trips to nearby Shenandoah National Park and Charlottesville.

I spent a weekend for my 25th wedding anniversary and it was a perfect get away. The cabin had all of the comforts of home, was very spacious, and it was very clean. The view, hot tub, and fire place were incredible. I would love to go back and enjoy each season. I am sure that it must be spectacular in the fall. I would definitely recommend the moondance to my friends.

This cozy little mountain retreat was absolutely darling. The house itself is clean and comfortable. The outdoor fire pit is such a treat, and it's right next to the grill, which is perfect for winter or summer cooking. The best part is the hot tub, which stays sizzling even on the coldest of days, and while you are in it you can enjoy a beautiful mountain view. I can wholeheartedly recommend this cabin for the location, ammenities, and price. The only thing about it is READ the DIRECTIONS carefully!!! We got lost coming in the dark on the first night.

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for Christmas week. Just the 2 of us in this fantastic cabin fully equipped. We had to call upon the host to help us out regarding operation of the gas log fireplace and Dish Network TV. Very nice young man and his wife live close by. He showed up promptly, gave us the required assistance and took the time to suggest things to do, places to go, local restaurants, etc. Skyline Drive is a must-do. We came away from our 6 day stay rejuvenated and ready to tackle the world! Many thanks Derek and Nina.

If you are looking for a vacation rental home that offers a pet friendly, secluded cozy home, that has a awesome view of the mountains, then I have found the perfect home and location. My husband, son, dog, and myself had a wonderful week stay in this beautiful home in Rileyville, Virginia. This furnished home has a very relaxing atmosphere and only about 20 mintes from local attractions. We spent 3 days visiting some of these attractions, such as Luray Caverns, and Shenandoah National Park. The ride on Skyline Drive lets you enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains. Drive slow, there are deer roaming! If you want to really enjoy the views, a hot air ballon ride is the way to travel. This is a breath taking experience and one you will never forget. Canoeing and rafting is a fun way to view natures wildlife. Yikes-did see some snakes! The best part of the trip is relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the view of the mountains. This trip was spent-MAKING MEMORIES.
