Sweet Seclusion

This cabin was exactly what my partner and I needed to get away from the city! It had all of the amenities that we needed and allowed us to forget about our city lives for a few days. We did not have any need to go into Luray, but it was nice to know that it was close. It was also just a short distance up to Skyline Drive, which was great for a day hike. We also enjoyed being able to use the grill, the coffee in the fridge (we forgot ours), the playing cards, and the swing on the front porch. It wasn't quite as secluded away from other houses as we had hoped, so we weren't able to let our dog off leash. But there was more than enough room for the three of us and we are already planning to come back with friends!

Great family getaway. Check in/out was easy, Erik was very helpful and responsive. Very close to area attractions like the caverns. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you need except food.

We have stayed at Fox Den Cabin twice in the last few months. It is as advertised: clean, well-equipped, secluded but not remote, and peaceful. Just what the doctor ordered! Eric was very pleasant to deal with and flexible with our needs. Sitting on the porch swing watching the sunset and listening to the spring peepers with a glass of wine in hand was unbeatable. Plenty of room for two and everything you might need is either at the cabin or easily found :15 away in Luray.

My wife and I have stayed at the Fox Den four times. We make annual trips with our dog to the area and found the property after having stayed at 6 other properties and this is the best for us. It is in a lovely quiet setting, the property is always well maintained and everything in excellent working order, and is just minutes from the National Park and from Lake Arrowhead.

My husband and I recently stayed in Fox Den Cabin with our sweet pups, Seven and Sweet Pea. We so enjoyed the old fashioned warmth of the immaculate cabin, complete with a turntable and albums that we listened to each evening. Our pups loved running around the beautifully manicured yard, chasing tennis balls and exploring new sights and scents. We are still talking about the breathtaking view of the star filled sky, something we don't get to see in the city. We look forward to visiting again.

Having stayed in a number of cabins in the Luray area, we found the Fox Den Cabin to be among the best of our favorites. This well-maintained rental was neat and clean inside and out. The owners were quick to answer questions and anticipate our needs. And setting is lovely, both spacious and private--we ate many of our meals on the porch with its handy grill nearby

Much-Needed Escape

House and setting were perfect. House is well designed for family or two couples. Views from living room, porches, and covered patio are knock-outs. Stone walls the length of a football field frame you in and seem to embrace you. No sounds of car traffic, only the sounds of the birds accompany this "just right" retreat. Kitchen with seating is a nice size for 4-6, large picnic table on porch. We cooked all our meals although the nearby town of Luray has tempting eateries. Washington Post was 3 miles away in the mornings, cappucino at multiple cafes, Lake Arrowhead is quaint and alluring with all the amenities including small-mouth bass! We canoed on the Shenandoah and had fun going through Compton's rapids. Canoe livery has been there 40 years, which is how long we've been canoeing there, but this was by far the best home and setting we've found.

This was a great setting for the New Yrs weekend for my husband and I and our small kids. It is very close to downtown Luray as well as Skyline Drive. The house had all the amentities as expected and also a wonderful sliding board out back for our 2 yr old. The large yard was a big plus!! We will definitely return again.
