Perfect Family Vacation

My husband and I, along with our two sons, recently stayed at this cabin. It was absolutely wonderful. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and more. Having a 5 month old we really appreciated that it was equipped with a Pack and Play and the wagon was helpful too. Our 7 year old was in love with the pool table in the basement (he now thinks he's a pool shark). We all really enjoyed the beautiful stretch of river, the huge private property and the hot tub. The nights were breathtaking with the campfire, infinite stars and thousands of fireflies lighting up the sky. The only negative were the highly aggressive mosquitos, which I know can't be helped. We would love to come back again some day.

Beautiful Place

Unfortunately my trip was cancelled but I would like to compliment the owner of this property. My email was answered in a very timely manner and I was sent the exact information I asked for. This home is very beautiful and worth it just because of the professionalism showed by the owner. Thanks so much!!

Family Get Away

We stayed in The Bear Bluff cabin just after Christmas and loved our get away. Although, our intent was to ski, there was very little snow at that time. The cabin we well appointed and contained everything for our family trip. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had all the necessities. There was plenty to keep us occupied - ping pong, pool, board games and large selection of DVD's. We will likely return in the future.

Wonderful place with small things to improve upon

My husband and I went to Bear Bluff for our honeymoon and to celebrate the New Years. Overall we had a wonderful time at this cabin. It is a beautiful cabin in the middle of some lovely land right by the river. The place is well decorated and all the appliances you can imagine are provided without any problems. So there were no major issues with our stay and we especially loved the grill, the awesome (and very clean) hottub and really entertaining movie library. But there were little things that could be improved upon. Again these are not essential but our trip would have been perfect had we had these. 1) the cabin was not incredibly clean when we got there. It was pretty clean with nothing majorly wrong. But there were left over coffee and coffee filter in the coffee machine. The basement (game room) was covered with hundreds of dead and alive bugs. Since the cabin is in the woods this is kind of expected but a little more cleaning would have been better. Finally when we came to the cabin the water was not running. There were some issues with the filter which needed to be changed. Thankfully someone came over (at 11pm!!!) and fixed our issue, we were very grateful. 2) even though we kept the windows and the doors sealed shut the whole time tons of bugs were coming in all the time. Maybe windows can be sealed with rubber or something to prevent this. For some people this may not be a problem at all. But i have some bug issues, so it bothered me a little bit. Overall this is a lovely place we will consider coming again. The person taking care of the cabin was a very responsive and she took care of us anytime there was a problem. We had a great time at Bear Bluff...

Lovely 10th Anniversary Getaway

We spent the weekend of May 6th - 9th 2011 at Bear Bluff. The cabin is very nice. It has an open airy feeling with vaulted ceilings, comfy furniture, and is clean. The kitchen is well appointed. The fireplace was cozy and mesmerizing. Turn the direct TV flatscreen above it to a music station and enjoy. The game room downstairs was fun. There is also a washer and dryer for those staying longer. The hot tub was a relaxing way to star gaze. The selection of DVD's was filled with many favorites. We weren't able to use the canoe. We are not experienced and were told by a local that the river was a bit high and fast for our lack of experience so best to try again another time. Which we plan on. We met Sandy who maintains the property, very nice woman, and it was a pleasure corresponding with Paul the owner. We are sure to return. We have already suggested Bear Bluff to family and friends.

Great cabin!

My girlfriend and I visited the cabin to celebrate my birthday and were extremely impressed. The area is gorgeous and everything at the cabin was in perfect order for us. The hot tub and fireplace were amazing in the cold weather. We will definitely be back.

Ultimate relaxation with all the amenities

Bear Bluff is the perfect retreat - beautifully appointed, and so cozy. We've never stayed anywhere that we didn't need to worry about bringing anything with us, but everything we needed was provided for us. The property is beautiful, and the hot tub is fantastic - what an amazing way to relax and look at the millions of stars we don't get to see at home! The gaming tables in the basement were a great diversion from the many hours of cards we played at the dining room table. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely, well-equipped cabin

The cabin was clean, well-equipped, nicely furnished, and with a lot of things to keep one entertained when you were in it. The information on how to deal with everything from garbage to how to use the TV/DVD players in the cabin is thorough and well-organized. The yard is well-kept and it is a short walk to the river.

Should have stayed longer

This was a great trip. Luray had everything we needed, and our cabin was just far enough to feel like we were all alone. The place was in tip top condition, and the owner was very nice and helpful. The river at the cabin was beautiful, and there is a lake and creek a few miles away. We will return very soon, and no matter how long your stay you will wish that you had stayed longer...JM
