Description of the Luray vacation cabin rental

The Alcoa cabin,or "Big Al" as some guests are now calling it, is a Daniel Boone Log Home design located at Stanley,VA, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This cabin sleeps 2-8 guests, and has become a great family cabin with a fully equipped kitchen. Towels and linens are provided with no extra charge. The cabins has three bedrooms with rustic log queen beds and two bathrooms. Cathedral ceilings in the living room and kitchen/dining areas. This cabin is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway, honeymoon or family vacation. Enjoy relaxing in the hot tub looking up at the stars or sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, (the firewood is provided). Watch a DVD or VCR movie or satellite TV by the peaceful ambiance of the electric fireplace.There is a charcoal grill, picnic table and log swing by the back deck.

Enjoy looking at the 2 acre pond from the front porch rocking in the rocking chairs or sitting at the table enjoying a cup of coffee or beverage of your choice! Go on down to the pond for some fishing. There are bass,catfish and perch. Catch and release only. Pack a picnic basket and enjoy a picnic at the picnic shelter. Very relaxing looking out over the lake.

Many guests are returning guests and say "put me down for next year!" Or "we were there a few months ago and would lke to visit again."

We are 10 miles from Luray,VA 22851. Luray Caverns,Luray Petting Zoo,Luray Greenway,Restaurants,Antique Shops. Shenandoah National Park Headquarters is 15 miles. Horseback riding and canoeing.

3 miles from horseback riding.

2 miles from with public swimming and picnic area and volleyball net and swings.

2 miles from Wisteria Winery

On site there is a 2 acre pond for fishing and play area and picnic pavillion.

Doggie Fun

My wife and I and a copule of friends, along with our two dogs, stayed in this cabin for long weekends in February 2012 and 2013. The cleanliness was excellent and the cabin was well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing country weekend, including a hot tub on the rear deck. We really enjoyed the outdoor firepit and letting the dogs run out all of their energy on the spacious lot. The hiking trails were nice and were enjoyed by us and dogs alike. We have been campers for several years and refer to this cabin as like camping but being able to sleep and shower indoors. Highly recommended.

This is the second year we have stayed at this cabin. It feels like home now. We really enjoyed ourselves. The beds are comfy, the showers are nice, and we REALLY loved the hot tub! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home!
