Description of the Luray vacation cottage rental

Beautiful and well designed one-bedroom river Cottage,
located on the legendary Shenandoah River and next to the George Washington Forest. River-front, not river access.

This cabin is fully equipped and wonderfully decorated for guests with good taste. Small enough to be cozy and large enough to be comfortable. The perfect "all-season getaway."

Settled on 3 acres of riverfront views, where you can enjoy plenty of virginia wildlife, and the peace and quiet of our beutiful natural settings. If water-sports interest you, canoeing, tubing, swimming and fishing are at your doorsteps. For those who would like to enjoy more thrilling sports, Appalachian Adventures can book a package for you.

This cabin will provide privacy, enjoy your own firepit and picnic area and for large groups, there are common large firepits and picnic areas by the riverbank.

If you are planning a romantic-getaway, this cabin is perfect for that. If fun, family and friends is what you'd prefer, we are sure that you will also be very pleased.

Area Information

Our region is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten Mountains. Luray is a small town with plenty of things to do, and it's located only 1 1/2 hours from Washington, DC.

Good quality restaurants, historical sites and breathtaking natural wonders surrounds our area.

For the enjoyment of the outdoors, Appalachian Adventures has been promoting the great outdoors since 1995. We offer plenty of water sports and mountain fun. Book a package, combine outdoor activities and lodging.

good river front cottage

Great to find a dog friendly place. He had lots of room to run around and swim in the river. It was nice to have a campfire down by the river at night.

Riverfront cottage

Very nice, comfortable clean cottage. It was big enough to accommodate my family of four plus a dog. The grassy area is big enough to run and play ball and it is right on the Shenandoah River. It is very remote, though. It is 9 miles down a country road from a major road and it takes about 30 minutes to drive to the town of Luray. A nice getaway if that's what you like. about 40 minutes to the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park.

Thank you for your comments. The cabins are located in Luray, however it is very private where the are located and is perfect we feel for a weekend, or week getaway from everything.
