Description of the Luxor vacation apartment rental
An English owned and managed oasis of epicurian delight, hidden away in a tiny alley, in the heart of Luxors bustling old town. From the terrace, we can see the Theban Hills, wherein are the Royal Tombs, the domains of Anubis, the jackal headed god of the dead. We can watch the hot air balloons looming out of the early morning mists to welcome the rising sun, which every day chases the shadows from the temples of the old gods.
We have designed our guest apartment to be the realisation of our dreams of the Arabian Nights, of Ali Baba's 40 thieves and of Aladdin, with his magic lamp.
You can come and join us, in this city which steals hearts and then, like some Genie, compels its lovers to forsake everything which has gone before.
For we are in Egypt, the real Egypt and the real Luxor........"Our Luxor".

Date: Monday, 7 September, 2009, 10:23 PM Hello Edward and Freda We had a great time in Luxor. Your apartment is fantastic, safe and very homely, as is your hospitality!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer and it cools down a little! And if I ever speak to anyone visiting Luxor, I will definitely recommend your apartment! Thanks again Robyn (& Gareth, Don and Joan) *********************************************************************************************** **************** *********************************************************** hello there freda and edward, wanted to start by saying thankyou for making my holiday the best that I have had for a very long time! have had so much fun and happiness over the past couple of weeks! have been telling my family and friends what such nice people you both are! showed my mum the leaflet of your flat and she thinks that it is absolutely beautiful. lots of love melanie xxxx ********************************************************** June 25th 2009 To Edward and Freda; and to anyone who might read this is in the days or years to come. My husband and I have been here, in this wonderful retreat - an oasis in the desert - called "Our Luxor" for just over a week now, and I can honestly say what I will miss THE MOST about Luxor is Edward, Freda, this flat - and the wonderful experiences we have had here centered around all three. You simply COULD NOT ask for a nicer place, more helpful hosts, or a better breakfast ! We have not just been looked after, but pampered ! ! ! I wouldn't trade places even with someone in a "posh" 5 * hotel - for here you are immersed in the REAL Luxor - it is literally just outside the door - but INSIDE the door lies civility, calm.... "home". Edward and Freda - we thank you, we miss you - Dear reader, I can only hope that your stay will be as pleasant as ours has been at "Our Luxor"... I feal sure it will be ! Jamie and Jeannie, Florida U.S.A. *********************************************************** 24th June 2009 I just wanted to thank you both for a very enjoyable and memorable stay last month. The apartment is indeed straight out of the Arabian Nights, the setting was just perfect being hidden away right in the heart of Luxor. Every room was so comfortable and CLEAN, and within minutes walking to Luxor Temple and the Souk and the centre of Luxor. Your apartment is evidently a labour of love and this comes across in the care attention and detail taken in furnishing every room. Nothing has been forgotten. Wonderful antique furniture, Crisp white bed linen, fresh towels, bathrobes, slippers, a lovely welcome pack, the list is endless. The most comfortable bed I have slept in for a long time, and the Dikka's (not sure of the spelling on that one) in the lounge, along with the beautiful decorations, rugs, and air conditioning is a heavenly retreat with one's book at the end of a long and hot day. Sitting on your roof terrace every morning looking out at the Theban Hills and having all the time in the world to enjoy the lovely breakfast that you prepared was just perfect. Thank you again for providing breakfasts at such short notice as I had not booked that option. Fantastic choice every morning, Crisp white table cloth, Fresh Juice, (squeezed by hand), fresh bread, jam, cheese, yoghurts, eggs any way you like them, copious amounts of tea, oh and I shouldn’t forget the wonderful falafel sandwich that Edward and I went out for one morning. You were right the best falafels in Luxor. The roof terrace is ideal any time of the day for soaking up the sights sound and smells of Luxor. The sound of the call to prayers, the hustle and bustle of the streets below. I have stayed in many of the hotels in Luxor and once inside the hotels you are anesthetised and removed from the real Luxor. The terrace allows you to enjoy the atmosphere for as long as you want too. Edward and Freda your apartment is a jewel in the crown of Luxor. Anyone who knows and loves Luxor will understand what I am saying. A real home from home in the middle of Luxor. Best wishes and take care. Hope to see you soon. Inshallah. Karen. *********************************************************************************************** ************************ Subject: Thank you! From: Veronique Date: Wednesday, 13 May, 2009, 11:54 AM Hi Edward and Freda! Daoud and I would like to thank you very much for your hospitality. It has been very nice to stay in your flat. This flat is really beautiful, very well furnished and decorated. I appreciated the nice towels and bedsheets, and really, nothing is missing ! But in Luxor, time is going too fast. It's always difficult to leave this egyptian life ! Especially for Daoud who would like to live there forever ! We do hope that everything is all right with you. Best regards, Veronica and Daoud *********************************************************************************************** ************************ Date: Thursday, 29 January, 2009, 3:36 PM Dear Freda and Edward I can't believe it's nearly February! When we got home, I fully intended to contact you straight away, and somehow Christmas intervened, and here we are very much later than planned - sorry! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'Our Luxor'. The location is ideal - in the centre of town, and an interesting walk to wherever we wanted to go (thanks too for taking us on those amazing local buses - definitely an experience not to be missed if you want the 'real' Luxor rather than the tourist version!). We greatly appreciated the food you got in for us, though we didn't need to use very much because there are so many places to eat to try out. I particularly liked that 'Sofra' restaurant, and I'm glad you were there to take us; we possibly wouldn't have ventured in on our own, but there's nothing like local knowledge when you're on holiday. The guest apartment is lovely. I love the combination of the Egyptian furniture etc, but with all the comforts of home. And it's great knowing you're just upstairs if we had any questions. We will definitely be back! It will probably be in the autumn again, though I'm not sure of the dates yet - late October or early November, I imagine. We'll let you know as soon as possible. Thanks again for looking after us so well. Best wishes, Sue & Roy *********************************************************************************************** ************************ Subject: To: "EDWARD &FREDA -" Date: Saturday, 17 January, 2009, 11:27 AM Dear Edward & Freda, Hello from cold & wet england wishing you both a Happy new year. I am writing to you as I have friends who are planning to come to Egypt in may and they will have a few days in Cairo as they want to see the pyramids, and then catch the train to Luxor, It will be their first visit to Egypt I have told them how beautiful your flat was when I stayed there myself last summer, and so lovely to actually feel an arabian atmosphere with all the furnishings, and lovely bedroom it was a delight As you are aware I had stayed at other flats in luxor when I have been before but they were bland and definately not up to the standards that you have aspired to of cleanliness which is a relief in luxor, you made my time in luxor very happy and I am sure that you will do the same for my friends. If you have any availability would you contact me as I am sure that Terry and Anne would be happier staying with an English couple as their hosts, and I will pass the information on. Do you still do the beat the hassle tour around the town? I am sure it would also be helpful for you to make their arrangments for the Valley of the kings as it will save them alot of problems. Will May be ok temperature wise? Best wishes to you both I Look forward to hearing from you, from Lorraine *********************************************************************************************** ************************ Subject: RE: Luxor Date: Mon, 10 Mar 2008 15:54:47 +0000 From: Hilary Hi Freda and Edward, The flat was beautifully decorated, we were delighted with the Egyptian influences everywhere. It was also located well. I wanted to be in the village part rather than in the real "European" sections which would have felt like being in Europe! We were also delighted with all of your assistance; nothing appeared to be too much trouble! It was a great support while we were there and you literally couldn't have done more for us! You were very helpful in organising the restaurant for the birthday celebration and it was a huge bonus to gain all the local knowledge. It is very evident that you have a genuine interest in your guests. I miss the weather SOOOOOO much!!!!!!!! Thanks again, I will definitely recommend the flat to any friends travelling and would love to come back myself some day. Well done on a great venture! Regards, Hilary. *********************************************************************************************** ************************ To: Subject: Flat in Luxor Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 16:39:39 +0000 Dear Margarita, I was renting the flat for a few months just recently, while I was volunteering at a animal hospital in Luxor. It was just perfect in every way. Being on my own and female I thought staying in a flat on my own would be scary but staying at this flat I felt very safe, Edward and Freda where just upstairs if I needed them and I found all of the neighbours very friendly and always looking out for me. It was so nice to meet Edward and Freda, they are lovely people and they took such good care of me. The flat is very, very comfortable and spacious, a really retreat at the end of the day (everything works very well i.e. air con', hot water, shower etc). The location of the flat is also very good, central and easy to get to most places. Also the buses run right past the flat in one direction (was great for me at the end of the day) and it's just 2 min's down the road to get them going the other way. There is plenty of places very close by to get food etc. I hope you do chose to stay there as I'm sure you would really like it as I did. I have stayed in Luxor before in other places but now I wouldn't go anywhere else. Good luck with what ever you decide. Michelle
