Almost our whole family came to stay at this cabin, some came early, some later and all had a wonderful time, taking lots of daytrips and relaxing with cookouts in the evenings. The younger generation played in the creek, trying to get across and back over the stones, playing in the clear waters and not having to be afraid of alligators....like one encounters here in Florida. We had comfortable beds, enough blankets for the delightfully cool nights, and lots of hot water for all the showers. We thorouthly enjoyed ourselves.

Its a small nice cabin. Everything is good but the bed is too soft. Brian is great! He is the maintenance guy.

The log cabin was great after we got in and settled down. For it to be built in 1929, it was in excellent shape. It was a great quiet get away from home. I would recommend anyone to stay. We stayed in cabin 19, two bedrooms, full kitchen and a nice porch. My mom and aunt loved it. The attendant brought us rocking chairs. Anyone will love this neatly tucked cabin in the woods. I will be back. The prices are good. Margie

Your reservation process was horrible...even you believe I rented one of your properties. I also thought I had after submitting all the informaiton, including credit card number. Weeks later (and hardly any choices remaining) I was told no, I had not rented it, I only gave all the information to someone in the office to start the process. Well, by then, very few properties were available and I ended up renting a beautiful cabin from another, responsible vendor. Customer service was no help at all...not even willing to compromise on another property for a similar rate. Very disappointing. I've successfully used Vacation Home Rentals in the past, but don't think I would do so again. Bad experience all around.

We stayed at the Bears Den for three nights while in Maggie Valley. The house has room for 8 people, 6 was in our group. Is very clean and has a washer and dryer. Located close to shops and places to eat. Our next trip to this area will include a stay at the Bears Den.

This was a nice cabin overall. There were a few things that were broken ( the outdoor swing, and there was a note left that the satellite and DVR downstairs were not working - although I didn't actually try these). I would have rated this property much higher, except that things were not very clean when we arrived. The toilets had not been scrubbed, there was hair left in the showers, and the bathroom sinks looked like they had just been wiped, not really cleaned. There was food residue on the placemats and a buildup of crumbs/food on the backs of the chairs. Cleaning up after someone else was NOT how I wanted to start my vacation. With all of that being said, the cabin was in a nice location and the bedrooms were very nice. We had two families staying and there was plenty of room for everyone.

It Was A Very Relaxing And Enjoyable Stay. The View Was Breath Taking. We Watched The Cows, Wild Trukeys And The Birds, Which Was Very Relaxing.the Cabin Was Very Nicely Decorated And Clean. All The Conviences Of Home. Ref. Wiht Ice Maker And Dishwasher. The Kitchen Was Very Furnished For All The Cooking. We Left On Tues. And The Dump Fill Was Closed So We Did Have A Problem Wiht The Trash. If It Could Be Left In The Trash Cans Outside Would Have Been Very Nice. Would Definitey Stay Again.

We Had A Lovely Month At The Bears Den In Maggie Valley, N. C. The House Was So Cozy And Complete And Well Situated For Company With Their Own Little Area Downstairs. Was Very Easy Dealing With The Owner, Ken Hardy, And It Was Beginning To Feel Like Home Being There. Do Get Off The Main Road In Maggie Valley. We Found Wonderful Areas Like Homes, Resorts, Elk, The Country Club, The Ski Area And A Wonderful Horse Ranch That We Hope To Take Our Grandson To Next Summer Called The Cataloochee Ranch. A Lot Of Hidden Treasures. We Would Not Hesitate Going There Again. Dick And Linda Shanahan

This was a great place for our children and grandchildren to meet to have some family time. The house was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably. The shaded deck was our favorite hangout place. The house stayed comfortably cool with nothing but open windows and ceiling fans. The area gave lots of opportunity for exploration and privacy. The gated community was well kept and we felt completely safe. We hope to make this a yearly (or more often) tradition at the Bears Den.

We had 4 couples and this cabin was great. We drove our Corvettes and this cabin is perfect for Vettes as all of the roads are paved. The community is quiet and the area very beautiful. The large deck was a perfect place for us to have breakfast in the mornings and hang out, having fun in the evenings. We will be recommending this cabin to our friends.

This was by far the BEST vacation we have ever had! The cabin had a warm cozy homey feel to it. It was stocked up with eveything you could think of and the owner was incredibly nice and helpful. The cabin's located in a gorgeous gated area, it sits on a fantastic mountain top with mountain views all around and I just cant express how wonderful this trip was for me and my family! Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with my family. :-)

A great place to stay! The house is spacious and nicely furnished. My husband loved sitting in the huge comfy chair and watching the big screen TV. My favorite part was sitting in the rocking chair listening to the birds singing and the sounds of the creek. Thanks Ken for sharing your home with us, and for quickly responding to our inquiries while we were there.

We reserved the property and paid the deposit 2 1/2 months before our planned vacation. When we contacted the owner to find out about paying the balance and where to pick up the key, we were told he'd rented to someone else. He hadn't written down our reservation on his calender because he didn't have a rental agreement from us - only he never sent us one to fill out and return. So even though we reserved it 2 1/2 months in advance with a deposit, we were told 6 days before we were supposed to be there that it was unavailable. He did refund our deposit plus the paypal fees and apologized. But we didn't have anywhere to stay at that point.

We really enjoyed the place. Everything was set for our relaxation. The beds were comfortable. The area and view was beautiful. Now that we enjoyed the place, were thinking of coming there again next year. Thank you for making the cabin feel like our own home.

We really enjoyed our experience at this cabin. The layout of the cabin is great and view from the deck and/or the balcony is terrific. The quiet, the trees and the mountain air are a wonderful combination. The cabin is everything that Ken says it is. I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks so much Ken! Your place was awesome. Our family of six loved your home and the location was just what we were looking for. Everything in your home was first class and we had everything we needed. Thanks for your responsiveness to any questions we had. It was like having a vacation host at our service the way you answered questions about places to go or see. Thanks for even taking care of us when our truck broke down for a day! I'm sure we will be back in the future.

This well layed out home made our visit absolutely wonderful. It made it easy for us to enjoy the home as a group and also had places to go for privacy. The setting around the home is so peaceful we really enjoyed the patio for socializing and eating. Your home couldn't have been more centrally located. Close to Asheville, Cherokee casinos and Waynesville. In case no one has told you the trout fishing nearby is out of this world and the motorcycle museum is wonderful. Thank goodness your drive is paved. It made handling our motorcycles very easy. We'll be back.

We had the great opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Maggie, and in doing so, got to see the full range of Fall colors. The cabin is very wooded, so Fall is right outside your front door. The cabin was great, very spacious, roomy, warm, and quite comfortable. it is a short walk down the hill to the heart of Maggie, and there are lots of walks you can take right out the front door, one to the best waterfall in all of Maggie Valley...a hidden gem.

We have stayed at the Bears Den on two occasions and everything was great. The home is very clean and well maintained. Our kids loved playing down by the stream and enjoyed the mountains. Making arrangements to stay was very easy and the owner is very accomodating The subdivision is gated and is very guiet. A great place to relax and unwind. We are planning to go back this summer as we have only been for Thanksgiving. I promise you will not be dissapointed.

I have stayed at this property many times over the last 2 years. The home is spacious, very warm/homey, and has been completed refreshed, inside and out. The decks outside are a great place to spend the cool summer evenings. The home is about a 1 mile walk from the center of Maggie Valley, and offers an ideal location. The home is in a gated community, which is nice, with many areas right around the cabin to walk/hike. No driving necessary - you can get a great workout, and enjoy some nice excursions right out the front door.
