Just a few minutes from Maggie Valley and a short distance to downtown Waynesville. Easily accessible to the Cataloochee entrance of the Great Smokies National Park where you will be able to view Elk in their natural habitat! You'll be close to I-40, and near recreational activities including: golf courses, mini-golf and speedway, tennis, hiking, fishing, or skiing, snowboarding or horseback riding at Cataloochee Resort. Also in the area: wind tunneling, excellent dining and shopping, gem mining, Soco Gardens Zoo, and the Stompin' Ground (clogging). Many great day trips are available in under an hour's drive. Cherokee Indian Reservation has a museum, native craft cooperative, dramatic presentation, and gambling casino. While the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests offer challenges for the serious hiker, Nantahala white water rafting or tubing offers cool fun for the thrill seeker. Culture-loving visitors will enjoy the Biltmore Estate & Winery and art gallery.
