Description of the Majahual vacation villa rental

PLEASE NOTE - THE VILLA IS A DUPLEX HOME - TWO COMPLETE TWO BEDROOM HOMES WITH A CENTRAL COURTYARD AND TERRACE AREA IN THE MIDDLE. MY WIFE AN I NORMALLY LIVE IN ONE UNIT AND RENT THE OTHER, HOWEVER, - OPTIONAL PRICING FOR 3 AND 4 BEDROOM USAGE IS AVAILABLE. PRICING SHOWN IS FOR ONE UNIT

Casa Que Canta (The House that Sings) is a duplex home built in traditional Spanish style with a central courtyard and large 2nd level terrace facing the ocean. The Villa is basically two complete homes with living room, dining room, and kitchen that can be rented individually or together for very large groups. There are a total of 4 bedrooms in the villa and the cost of the rental varies with the number of bedrooms required for your group - they may be rented individually or in combination for up to 14 adults. We also offer all inclusive packages - meals prepared by our on site cook. Sandra does a great job and the food is excellent. For those that like to fish we also provide guide fishing for both offshore game fish and fly fishing in the Bay of Chetumal and nearby lakes. Fishing is excellent and Carlos are head guide is thought by most everyone to be the best on the coast. The listed price is for one complete side with two bedrooms. The villa is a private home located 5 miles north of Majahual Mexico. The beaches are powder white coral sand protected by a coral reef just 250 yards off shore. Ideal for swimming and sun bathing. Area is know for world class snorkeling and diving. Reef in front of the property has a large number of beautiful corral heads if you take the time to find them. Snorkeling and dive trips also available in nearby Majahual. There are many restaurants, fun shops, and great Mayan ruins near by. You will not find a better or more private home anywhere in the area. We would love to meet you. Joe & Maureen

Area Information

The area is rich in Mayan culture and history. Nearby ruins of Chachoben are a must visit along with Kohunlich and Dzibenache if you have time. Lake Bacalar and the old Spanish fort also make a great day trip. The area is also rich in Cenotes some of which are almost too beautiful to describe. Hidden Worlds Cenote has been featured on a National Geographic special. Bone fishing, Tarpon fishing, and Permit are all available in the area - we are told it is a world class location for these top three fly fishing species.
Majahual itself is a fast growing Mexican fishing village with many good restaurants and nice shops. Very busy on cruise ship days, but extremely quiet in between. Beaches are wonderful. A recent new attraction is a Jungle Zip line tour just outside of Bacalar (one hour away). We have done this with friends and it is a great family excursion. The tour is extremely safe and suitable for both adults and children.

Best 40th birthday ever

April 27, 2012

We were blown away by the beauty of the villa! Absolutely gorgeous. The owner, Joe, was friendly and helpful, and the caretakers Sandra, Emanuel, and Melvin were truly like family by the time we left. We spent our days and nights laying on the beautiful private beach, eating Sandra's incredible food, touring ancient ruins, and drinking way too much tequila. I would definitely recommend this to large groups and families! -Delaney Daughtry & crew

We had an incredible stay here at Casa Que Canta. This home truly sings.Everything has exceeded our expectations. Our new friends Joe & Maureen are gracious hosts and we grew during our stay to become true friends. They are real people and I will miss sipping Tequila with Joe. We love everything about our stay here and can't wait to return. Thank you for everything.
Love - your drinking buddy - Gary.
P.S. We need to hunt for Lobster again when we come down next year - it was great fun.

What an amazing trip! After this laid back pace of life I am not looking forwad to going back to Iowa and the "real world". Our bellies are stuffed with fresh caught lobster ... Our neighbor literally walked out of the ocean with his snorkel mask and lobsters still wriggling to swell us the day's catch. All you can eat for $12 U.S. per person!!! Joe and Maureen are simply awesome... they gave us hints to navigate the area and were always ready to chat or disappear to make it seem llike the whole jhouse was to ourselves. The snorkeling was jaw-dropping. It was my first experience and I now believe I'm ruined for life. Ester and Santiago were the kindest, friendliest faces to wake up to or say "buenos noches!" at night. I will miss this little paradise much, Muchas Gracias for this once in a lifetime trip!!!

We had an amazing time here. The house is absolutely beautiful and the beach is great too!! Very relaxing and secluded. We can not give enough gratitude toward Santiago and Ester. They were very helpful and very considerate. We thank them so much. The view is tremendously gorgeous and we will definitelybe coming here again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:What are the favorite things are guest find to do at our villa?
A:Snorkeling and diving usually rate number one on the fun list. Reef along the coast is beautiful - easily accessible. 2nd most popular activity is visiting Bacalar and Cenote Azul on the Lake of the Seven colors. This side trip can be combined with 3-4 hours at Chacchoben Mayan ruins. Great day and not expensive.
Q:Why do guest pick us and come back for repeat visits?
A:Arriving guests always tell us the same thing - the photos don't do our villa justice. Our rental is a home - not just a rental. The level of detail and quality of the accomadations are 2nd to none. And when our guests leave we are told that they love the level of service provided. Our caretakers get consistent 5 star ratings.
Q:Do you offer meals at the villa?
A:Although we have a large and fully equipped kitchen in each home we have discovered that many guests really prefer the advantages of an "all inclusive" concept. So we began offering meals two years ago. This has proven to be a great success as Sandra is a great cook and our meal packages cost less than eating out in t own.
