Our month stay at Pamela and Russ's studio was fabulous. The location is ideal in many respects: close to upcountry cool (for hubby) and beach warm (local bus for wifey). The studio is warmly decorated and has every item one needs in the kitchen. The lanai overlooks a well tended garden and a few well behaved chickens. Russ is always ready for insider tips to the real Maui which we greatly enjoyed. We couldn't think of a more pleasant stay anywhere else on Maui, especially since the husband does not relish heat and sun bleached beach...but all that is available a quick ride or bus away.

Pamela and Russ immediately met our expectations upon arrival. The accomodations were immaculate. We had instant friends in Maui and they were not only gracious but informative in helping us plan our week on the island. Makawao was in easy walking distance with quaint shops and clean restaurants supplying delicious cuisine in hometown atmosphere. Hope my Hubby willl bring me back to Pam & Russ'.
Pamela and Russ were superb hosts, they were always available when needed to answer any questions or to give advice. They were also very aware of personal space and managed to couple extremely warm, welcoming and helpful with just letting me get on with my day to day adventures which was a lovely balance. The Apartment was ideal for my needs with all the facilities that help to make a place feel like a little bit of home.. I found the location extremely good also for exploring the island as it is fairly central and in a lovely quiet but cultural part of Maui. I would certainly recommend them to anyone wanting to visit Maui as it really did help to make my stay extremely memorable, I only wish i had another week or more.. but don't we all...!! Kevin, UK
What an ideal place to call home while on vacation!!! Our wonderful hosts, Pamela and Russ, were so accommodating. They gave excellent tips on what to see and where to go and always evoked the spirit of aloha for us. The living quarters were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with plenty of cooking equipment to allow us to live as we would at home. Russ has a beautiful garden in the backyard, and he was very generous with sharing their produce. I loved that we were "up-country", living in a local neighborhood, quiet enough to hear all the birds singing, high enough to enjoy cool mornings and evenings, and central enough to visit every part of the island. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to all my friends.
