Happy New Year!

January 11, 2015

My adult children and I rang in the New Year in this beautiful, spacious, comfortable, well equipped house. We hope to visit again next year same time. Connie and Todd were great to work with. Very responsive. Highly recommended for an enjoyable stay in southern Vermont.

Owner's reply:

Thanks very much Nancy. We enjoy sharing our home with thoughtful guests like yourselves who enjoy "Vermont-style" relaxation.

Great multiple family rental

March 5, 2014

We were 2+ families staying in this home for a long weekend. The kitchen was well supplied for all the cooking we did. Plenty of space for everyone. In fact, I think we used the living room for about 5 minutes because everyone liked the family room and kitchen. Skiing at Stratton and Magic is realistically 45 minutes away. We snow-shoed less than 10 minutes from the house at Merck.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for your kind review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your time at our home as much as we do and we hope you return to Rupert.

A relaxing vacation!

January 22, 2014

Our party of eight (2 families) spent a wonderful time in this comfortable, meticulous house, from Dec27 to Jan01. The house was equipped with everything one could possibly need, was spacious with a renovated central kitchen, two living rooms, a full bathroom, a spare room, and a laundry room downstairs. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms and a full bath. Adults favorite place to hang out was, of course, the kitchen, while the "blue/green" living room was the kids' (ages 8-12) kingdom! The temperatures were freezing the last 4 days of our stay, but the heating worked perfectly, upstairs and downstairs thermostats were adjusted accordingly so that the house felt cozy at all times. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating people, responding to every email within minutes. They welcomed us to their house with a bottle of wine and chocolates! After heading back to NY, we realized that one item was left behind. No worries! It was mailed to us promptly! For ski lovers, the house is a bit of a ride to the xc-country and downhill centers, but we didn't mind. The scenery along the roads is beautiful, peaceful and sparkly when covered in snow. Winter wonderland! We had absolutely amazing time! Thank you Todd and Connie for making our stay a wonderful one!

Owner's reply:

Thank you so much for the thoughtful and thorough review. We are very pleased to know your party enjoyed our home as much as we do.

We spent a wonderful vacation week in Rupert. The house was beautiful and so clean; you felt at home as soon as you entered. It was comfortable and cozy and easy to relax there. The owners, Connie and Todd, were so accommodating and just lovely to work with; that also made the whole experience so pleasant. We would certainly return there!

Mini Getaway

January 3, 2013

The place was amazingly clean. It has everything you need. All the spices, the utensils, the cloths, pots and pans, dish soaps, towels, sheets, etc... It was like being at home. We had 4 family with a total of 4 kids and 3 newborns and the space was perfect. My family had the master bed and we were able to add a queen air mattress without a problem. The only thing that was missing was a fireplace. =) The owner Connie was great at responding to my questions. I recommend this place to anyone that is looking to stay in Rural VT.

Owner's reply:

Thanks very much Ran. It's because of appreciative friends like you that we are happy to share our home with others.

Excellent Stay

January 6, 2011

Spent the New Year in Rupert atthis cozy, beautiful home. Plenty of Kitchen space--the "island" made for a great social area. Tons of hiking/snowshoeing in the area, even did some sledding! The home is very neat, and the owners were very helpful and left excellent directions and information. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Place

November 28, 2010

We stayed at the house for a few days in August 2010. We were a party of 4 couples and 2 babies. The house was everything we hoped for - big, pretty, comfortable, quiet, peaceful and located in a beautiful area. The neighbours are very nice and helpful (we needed some help, otherwise we wouldn't have met them at all). When we arrived we found the house to be very clean and well equipped (unlike some unpleasent experiences we had with similar rentals in the past). We cooked a lot and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. Todd and Connie were very helpful and recommended us great activities in the area.

Summer Family Vacation

August 14, 2010

We had a wonderful stay in this house, our group was a mixture of ages from 3 year old to grand parents. The house is very well set up and has been beautifully remodelled. The hosts provided some wonderful suggestions of things to do in the local area. Lake St Catherine, Emerald Lake and the mountains of Western Vermont. If you are looking for a scenic, family friendly location I highly recommend this house!

Awesome time!

October 13, 2009

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Vermont! The craftsman style home is well cared for - with period details, beautifully decorated and very clean, and right alongside that wonderful babbling brook! And the mountains all around us were ablaze with color. We especially enjoyed the old railroad turned nature trail - it was a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery. This location was well away from all the Columbus Day madness - a hidden gem - but still plenty close enough to jump into the fray when we felt like it, with Dorset a quick drive and Manchester all plenty close enough.

Our stay was a great time. The house was a beautiful place to stay for a couple of days and the house was very clean and brand new. It was quiet and relaxing when at the house. It is a short drive to the Dorset Inn, which I will add the food is amazing, and a short drive to Manchester Center.

Thank you so much for the use of your home. It's a beautiful house and we were quite comfortable there. Everyone had a fabulous ski weekend!

Wow, what a great time we had in Rupert. Your house is delightful. We so enjoyed the window seat. I had to pull Pat away from it every day and night. Doug and Michelle were a great help and also extremely gracious. We did have a wonderful week and will be in contact with you to set some dates for next year.

We absolutely loved the house and had a wonderful time! We hope to go back!
