Area Information
You can ride the narrow gauge Durango-Silverton Railroad, hike or bike in the San Juan National Forest and car tour the San Juan Skyway. And there is great fishing in Jackson Lake and the Mancos and Dolores rivers.

Web had a great time at the Shalako House. The was plenty of room for a family of ten and plenty of linens and towels, etc. The owners Laird and Claudia were very accomadating and even took my kids on horseback rides on one of the days. Mesa Verde is very close and Durango is a short day-trip. If you are looking for the qiuntessential Southwest Colorado vacation home, this is the place! Did I mention the Hot Tub on the stream?
