New York, New York!

We spent a week visiting the great city of New York! The apartment was ideal for two couples. It is centrally located, easy access to the subway, restaurants, park, museums... We will definitely contact Elaine and Anthony once we return to the city! Anthony met us on our arrival and spent an hour giving us details to the city. He was a great help!

Amazing location and plenty of space

This was the perfect place to experience brownstone apartment living on the Upper West Side! Close to Central Park and so many great restaurants and museums! The apartment is not fancy, but it's very comfortable with plenty of linens and towels and kitchen supplies. And having two bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa was great. Tony and Elaine are very organized and give you all the info you need from where to find the key to how to run the TV and get on the wifi. We will definitely try to stay there again the next time we're in town.

Great location in NYC

We rented Anthony's apartment for our spring break vacation. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had plenty of space for us and our 2 children. It was surprisingly quiet at night and very convenient for anything you may need or want to do. Just a couple of blocks away is a great playground in Central Park and the natural history museum. Fantastic Zabar's is right there on Broadway plus all kinds of great restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Quaint clean 2 bedroom on upper West Side.

Very clean and homey. Great neighborhood. Has all the essentials. Perfect location for restaurants and bars. Easy walking to Central Park and Metro. Beware: 35 steps up to second floor apt. Definitely recommend it!

Good place for NYC

The apartment was well located, close to the subway and Midtown. Just steps from Central Park, it is both quiet and in the heart of the city. Tony was available and very helpful. A place not to miss when you want to discover NYC. The area is really nice, with lots of restaurants and shops to refuel when you want to cook your own. The apartment is spacious enough for 5, and especially clean for NYC. A real place for a very reasonable price.

Great stay

We were a family of 4 who stayed in the apartment for 10 days. Please was clean and quiet which was good. Owners easy to deal with. Originally wanted an apartment closer to Times Square but we were happy we stayed in this area. Lots of great places to eat, and only a block and a half from the Subway and around 4 subway stops to Times Square. Walking distance to Central Park. Quiet, safe neighbourhood. Did have problems with the internet which was a bit frustrating, we gave up in the end. Overall, would recommend it.

Great Apartment and Convenient Location

We stayed for 6 nights (2 Adults, 3 children ages 8, 6, and 4) for a family vacation. Getting access to the apartment was easy and we met soon after to complete the transaction. We were given total privacy during the stay but I had the feeling any problems would have been addressed right away. The apartment was clean, more spacious than I expected, and stocked with modern appliances and any kitchenware you could need. I also noted that there is a small collection of dry goods (salt, coffee, etc..) that was likely left behind by previous tenants. The TV, phone, and wireless internet worked well. The apartment is 2 blocks away from the 1 Subway and 3 blocks away from the B/C Subway. With these lines, it is very easy to access any location in the city. Zabar's is great for breakfast fare and has a superb grocery. I walked for coffee and croissants every morning to bring back to the apartment. The proximity to museums and Central Park is obvious from the location. Parking is simple if you are fine paying $35/day. There is a garage on the next block. Just pull in, give them your keys, and they give you a ticket. There is free parking on the street in front of the apartment but it is fairly difficult to get a space. Also, once you have a space, the car must be moved for street cleaning over 2 noon hours during the week (11-1230 Tues/Thurs on one side, 2 different days for the other side, indicated on signs on the street). If you manage to get a space you can do what the locals do and sit in your car, double-parked on the other side of the street waiting for the cleaner to pass and then take your spot back. Also, beware of getting pinned between tightly parked cars. If you're willing to put up with this, you can park for free. It is no problem to double park for a few minutes to unload or load your car in front of the apartment. People aren't leaving their parking spots very often. No parking 15' from hydrants, indicated by yellow paint on the curb. They must enforce this strictly, since people happily double park in the middle of the street for an hour rather than park next to a hydrant. In all, a great place to stay for a young family. Quiet building, quiet street, great location. Took me a few days to figure out the parking, but that was it.

Comfortable and close in NY

Great location and a nice apt. The local dining was absolutely wonderful and the owner very helpful with this. The nearby subway was very close, safe and convenient to most NY major sites on this line.

Location is Great

We stayed for a week on a family vacation spun off from a Carnegie Hall performance by one of our son's high school orchestra. The location is great due to being within walking distance to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, two subway lines, and Amsterdam and Broadway avenues. The apartment technically sleeps five but it is small like I am sure most apartments in the area are, and it was difficult for five to lounge around in the living room. Since so little time is spent there, however, if you are taking advantage of what New York has to offer, it does not really matter. You do not want to be the person spending every night on the couch bed, it is better to take turns. I grew up in the New York area so I was accustomed to spending time in older buildings with tiny bathrooms and heating via pipes and radiators, but it is part of the New York experience and most people I suspect will not mind.

Sydney, Australia

Fantastic location, spacious, safe & warm

4 of us (incl. 2 teenagers) recently spent 6 nights. The apartment was great, finding the key and getting in was easy with clear instructions from Tony. Location fantastic, close to subways, Central Park, Museum of Natural History. Zabars is amazing and only 1.5 blocks away for great soups, easy dinners, bread, cheese and delicious coffee. The apartment was very warm, a bit too warm, but better than being cold. The bathroom is dated but reasonably clean, everything else was fine. Kitchen well stocked with essentials. We arranged late check out. Just a warning, the main bedroom does have a water pipe in it and you hear every drop of water from apartments above. Felt like a local staying there!! Much better than a hotel!

Perfect for casual business travelers

A colleague and I stayed in this apartment for a week. Our days were spent in multiple midtown meetings. It was great to escape "home" to the neighborhood at the end of the day, with plenty of grocery and restaurant options all around us. The space was very comfortable and we didn't want for anything. The only problem was some difficulty with getting one of the front door keys to work, but Tony was extremely helpful in addressing that immediately.

Wonderful Location!

We had a fantastic family vacation, which with three children under seven is no easy task! Lovely neighborhood, easy access to subway, museums and beautiful Central Park. The apartment had all we needed and was quiet and clean. Grocery stores, coffee shops and friendly yummy restaurants close by. We would stay there again on our next New York adventure. Cheers!

Outstanding Apartment in Great Location...

As part of our trip to New York for one week in September for 4 adults I decided to reserve this apartment for it's location and reviews of other visitors. The whole process of booking the apartment was a very easy process and Tony & Elaine were very helpful, informative and responsive during the booking phase. The apartment was absolutely perfect...!!!..there were four adults in our party and we had ample room and scope at the apartment. The apartment was absolutely spotless and kept in a great condition considering it's rental. The areas around the apartment were quiet and we felt very safe throughout or stay. Tony & Elaine were great with all information and even when we needed to stay on passed the check out time it was not a problem. The location was perfect with only a short 5 min walk to the 79th Street Subway Station. Lots of restaurants for breakfast and dinner within 2 min walk from the apartment. All four adults agreed that we would not stay anywhere else when visiting New York again and personally I would not stay in a hotel again. I would highly recommend anyone considering to stay in New York to stay at this apartment. It is absolutely perfect and you will not be disappointed in the slightest. Do yourself a favour and book this apartment it is perfect...Highly recommended and am definitely staying there again on my next visit...!!!..looking forward ot it...

Family Vacation in NYC!

We loved staying at this property. Tony was wonderful and answered every question we had before and during our trip. Great communication and transaction. Our family of 5 adults was very comfortable. The "queen" bed in the 1st bedroom is more like a double. Otherwise, everything was exactly as described. Lovely apartment in an excellent location. We will stay there again next time.

great apartment

Thank you very much for the use of your apartment. My family of four had a wonderful time in the city. It was very nice at the end of a long day of site seeing to come back to our "home" as opposed to a hotel room. The apartment had everything we needed to feel comfortable. We saved a little money by preparing some meals in the kitchen but certainly took advatage of the the nearby places to eat. We also took advantage of the nearby subway stations to conveniently get around the city. We would defintely stay here agian.

lovely week-end in NY

We spend a great long week-end in NY with my wife... and the apartment was big part of the success: very well situated, close to 2 metro stations, nice and safe area, close to Central Park. Perfect - we would repeat the experience tomorrow.

Great apartment

The apartment was in a great location, for new york it was on a quiet street, although it was quite compact it had everything we wanted. The restaurants round about were excellent-recommened Bistro Citron on Columbus Avenue-food fantstic. Subways only 5 min walk away which took you directly into the centre of Manhattan. Would recommened this apartment to anyone and would go back myself-my only complaint would be the seating only 1 sofa and the rest were breakfast bar chairs-after a long walk around Manhattan they were not the most comfortable place to sit.

Great Location

We found the apartment to be situated in the perfect location; easy to access all points of interest on foot or on the excellent public transport system. The apartment itself, though small, was clean, warm and contained everything we required. We met the owners briefly but were assured that we could call them at any time if there were problems - there were none. We were there during snow storms and cold winds and still had a great time - it must be lovely when all the parks around are green. One tip - we did not use the expensive parking garages close to the apartment but found that by parking further north on the west side, we could get a much better deal.

George Bart

Great Location in upper west side

West 80th street is a great location- near museums, central park and Broadway, and in an area where there are always taxis available, and the subway is only 3 blocks away. The kitchen was well stocked with staples (we ate breakfast in) and Zabars was just down the block for anything else. The apartmaent was comfortable for the four of us, although the rooms were smaller than we expected. While the main bedroom was comfortable with an ample chest of drawers, the second bedroom seemed barely large enough for the queen size bed. There was no drawer space at all. The apartment contained ample linens, and was very clean. All-in-all, we'd certainly consider it for future trips.

4 Nights in Manhattan

The apartment was great once we had manhandled two suitcases up two flights of stairs. The entrance to the building the foyer and stairwell didn't do justice to the quality of the apartment so it was a huge relief upon opening the door and seeing a modern inviting interior with excellent conveniences and appliances. Very compact but had everything you could want. We were also pleased with the location, central to everything a very good area and the information provided extremely helpful. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely go there again.

Perfect place to stay

Our party of four stayed for a week in NYC. The apt is comfortable and very roomy, especially compared with std hotel rooms in NYC. Elaine and Tony are absolutely kind hosts and help wherever they can - they let us stay longer on our departure day due to late flights of ours. The apt is located in a quiet street, there are two subway stations within 5 minutes walking distance - you'll be downtown and back in no time! In the neighborhood you'll find a lot of good restaurants - the "Nice Matin" on Amsterdam&79th has good breakfast and lunch specials, and you can meet popular actresses there - in our case Kyra Sedgewick ;-) as well as grocery stores and shopping amenities. Central Park and Riverside Park are close for taking a quick stroll. We'll definitely stay again, and we can highly recommend this apt.

Nice and recommendable apartment in NYC

My friens, my husband, my son(2 years) and I spent 9 days in NYC. The apartment´s location is fantastic this area is very quiet but at the same time with a lot of restaurants and interesting shops. Also is near to Central Park and museums and near subway stops. Apartment was well equipped, very clean and the owners were very kind. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to spend their holidays in NYC. Thank you and I wish see you soon.

Austin, Tx

Great Location; Nice Apartment

This is very nice apartment in a wonderful, safe, energetic area of the Upper West Side. The location cannot be beat -- close to the Park, AMNH and other popular venues. Shopping, transporation and restaurants of all types are close-by and accessible. (I appreciated ESSENTIALS PLUS on Broadway near 81st -- a small store front opens to a cavernous drugstore/small foodstore/ice cream shop/candy store with a huge TOYSTORE upstairs, complete with a train table for young kids our kids LOVED IT. Prices reasonable too. Then walk up a few blocks for street venders selling nice fresh veggies/fruit.) The apartment itself is quite comfortable, with an excellent small kitchen and eating area and comfortable rooms with AC. The bathroom is quite small and not quite up to the standards of the balance of the apartment, but certainly nothing problematic. Tony and Elaine remained in e-mail contact prior to arrival and then phone contact -- very thoughtful [let us check in 1 hr early]. Enjoy!

Very Nice Apartment

This was our fifth time back to NYC, but the first time we rented an apartment. We enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the fact that there were three air conditioners to keep us cool for when we arrived back at the apartment.Location was excellent. Your only a block away from the American Museum of Natural History. There are also dozens of street side restuarants in the area. You are only a block and a half from a subway east or west. That is very important to us. We would not hesitate in recommendinding this location to anyone.

A good place to be

We loved the appartement. We were there with a family, two girls 16 and 17 years old. We saw everything you have to see in NYC, especially the shops. Nice environment, close to Central Park (sports for the parents) and Amsterdam Av and Broadway with a lot of shops for the girls, open until late in the evening. We were gald that there was airco and fan in each room because it was hot, and that it worked!

Summer in the City

As a former New Yorker on a visit with my daughters and grandchildren, we found the apartment spacious, close to everything. Being a native I enjoyed the STOOP, really felt like we were part of the neighborhood, surrounding neighborhood was lovely, at 70, I felt comfortable being out and about on my own, The third floor took some getting use to for this septuagenarian. Would definitely return and opt for the first floor, highly recommend this apartment, a positive experience and like Mac Arthur I will return. Thanks Elaine & Tony, it lived up to the advertisement. Great location, lovely little apartment

My mother, daughter and I found this apartment very comfortable and we enjoyed being on a quiet, safe, lovely street close to museums, Central Park, metro, good restaurants and gourmet grocery stores. The kitchen was well-equipped, there were plenty of towels and linens, and communication with the property owners was very easy and dependable. Take note that the apartment is up two steep flights of stairs. Be ready and able to haul luggage and yourselves up and down!

Would stay here again...

The location was wonderful -- just a few blocks from Central Park with easy access to several subway lines. Less than a block away from restaurants of all different types. The owners were very helpful and flexible. After spending several minutes helping us understand the food and shopping options nearby -- he called us back to give us an address of something he didn't know off the top of his head. The apartment was clean and comfortable for our group of five -- with the climb to the 3rd floor after a long day being the only challenge. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Perfect location!

My husband and I were in unit 3A for 14 days. The location is perfect - two blocks from Central Park, two blocks from the subway and near tons of shops and restaurants. The apt is well-equipped with plenty of towels, sheets, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, anything that you would need for a long stay. I think one reviewer mentioned no A/C, but there is A/C throughout (they were installed during our 3rd day). Elaine and Anthony were great to work with. I would definitely recommend this property.

Spring TIme in New York

My wife and I spent 10 days in NYC with our two young sons. We were visiting relatives who live on the Upper West Side, so this played a large part in our choosing this particular apartment. Having said this, I would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to spend their holiday/vacation in NYC. The apartment's location is fantastic - right beside American Museum of Natural History and Central Park. Lots of great restaurants and amenities in walking distance on Columbus/Amsterdam Avenues and Broadway. Also good downtown Subway links for tourists who want to fit in all the sightseeing. Apartment was well equipped and the owners were quick to sort out an initial problem we had with an electrical socket! We plan to rent this apartment again when we are next in NYC as it was ideal. However, due to the lack of A/C we would probably not choose to stay here during the summer months. Thank you. See you next time!

Convenient apartment

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Although it is rather small, there was adequate space for two couples. Linen and towels were plentiful and of good quality. Apartment was clean and well-equipped and everything worked perfectly. We thought that it was good value given the location. A whole clutch of museums was within easy walking distance, as was Central Park. Excellent shopping and eating possibilities were nearby, and we still rave about Zabars.

Hamburg, GERMANY

Totally recommendable!

We stayed in the Apt. 2A for 12 days and totally loved it! We travelled together with my parents and the smaller bedroom was big enough to put up a portable crib for our toddler (almost 2). The Master Bedroom was "so far away" that the baby did not wake up my parents. Towels and sheets were clean and plenty. The owner came by regularly and after we asked her to turn down the heating a little it was done almost immediatly the same day. The Apt. is in perfect walking distance to Fairway (grocery store). A great place to order in chinese food is Ollie's at Broadway, btwn 67th & 68th Street. We would totally stay there again when travelling to NYC.

Pleasant & Quiet

We (4) stayed here for a week and were pleasantly surprised by both the appt. and neighbourhood. Recommend the appt. for a small family. Close to many deli's and stores (google Zabars), unmissable museum at the end of the street (AMNH), subway one block away, you'll be in Times Square in minutes.

Great Location

A couple of my girlfriends and I stayed here and loved it!! The location was great, close enough to walk to Time Square and 5th Ave and most importantly, a safe neighborhood. We would stay here again if back in the area.

Great location!

My family stayed at the apartment over the Christmas holiday - it is a lovely apartment and is in a great spot. A great place to stay !

This place is great. This is also a perfect location to stay with kids, close to Central Park and the AMNH. Kitchen appliances, TV, internet, bathroom, everything was working perfect. Linens provided were of good quality and the owner checked regularly if everything was in good order. Communication about renting this place with the owner was fast and easy and she always answered our questions properly. Very convenient to travel with the subway, starting at 81st street or 79th street, we didn't even use a car. We enjoyed traveling with the subway to crowded places like Times Square, Macy's, Century 21, Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building, etc... but we also enjoyed the Riverside Park and all the nice places to eat at Amsterdam Avenue, Columbus Avenue and Broadway in Upper West on walking distance. All in all: a great place to stay ! Ask the owner for our e-mail address, we're happy to give more info on request.

family weekend in the city

Excellent location and great value compared to staying at a hotel. Very close to Museum of Natural History, and Central Park. Nice quiet residential street. Would definitely recommend it to others.
