Pleasant stay
November 4, 2012
We enjoed our holiday in NY and this appartment at Upper West side. Neighbourhood is beautiful and safe. The appartment is just enough room for a family of 5. The other bedroom is tiny. The kitchen and all the equipment in it were fine. We had little problems with the keys in the appartment - the lockbox system was totally unfamiliar to us europeans. Be careful with the bedroom and toilet locks ! Anyway we enjoyed our stay very much, had some nice dinners in the neighbourhood (for ex Mughai) and the appartment is also very handy for subway and Central Park.

We had a wonderful time
June 2, 2010
This appartment is perfectly located near central park in the upper west. We spent 1 week as a family of five people in this quiet appartment. A stay in NYC can be very busy and exhausting. Here we could relax and rejuvenate. Mr Hom took great care of us.

A great apartment
April 23, 2010
An ideal location, the property is very clean, and well maintained. 2 adults and 3 children stayed comfortably. The pictures online capture it perfectly. 1 block from Central Park. Lots of cutlery, dishes, cups, pots, towels, soap, paper towels etc. A coffeemaker if you do not want to go to the coffee-shop on the corner.

Had a great stay in a great apartment. Anyone looking to experience a real Manahattan experience should try this apartment on W 80th Street. Very nice living room and kitchen with a super view of the street. Bedrooms & Bathroom were a bit small, but hey, who sleeps in New York!! Very clean and well maintained.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apt. It was such a nice, quiet respite after long days in the city.Tony and Elaine have thought of so many little touches to make it feel like home. Close to wonderful UWS restaurants, the subway, Central and Riverside Parks. I would deinitely stay here again!

Tony and Elaine were very communicative and prompt to answer each of our requests. The apartment is in a fabulous location with plenty of space for our 5-person family. Everything was clean and in working order. We would rent the apartment again in a heartbeat.

great apt!
May 28, 2009
Not only were the apartment and location perfect but the rentor was very accomodating and helpful. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and safe, and only two blocks from the Museum of Natural History, and three blocks from Central Park, and Zabars. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay. There were even maps, menus, and guide books in the apartment. About a block from the apartment are all kinds of restaraunts (for a relaxed burger and beer visit St. James Gate--nice waitstaff too). The subway lines (A,B, and C or 1, 2) are within a couple blocks in either direction. This is an easy place from which to navigate the city. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.

We stayed here as a family for our son's graduation from Columbia. Nice quite street (by NYC standards), close to subway and central park. Would recommend, and would stay there again.

I've rented other apts in NY and this has been the best by far. Great location on UWS. I agree with last review that there definetly need to be towel hooks in the bathroom, but that's about it. Nicely decorated & really comfortable beds...even the pullout couch(some rentals have such "rental" furniture.) Have already recommended it to friends. Owners very accomodating. Great deal! If you're trying to decide between this and another apartment.... RENT THIS PLACE!! PS...I recommend Cafe Lalo on 83rd & Amsterdam. It's a cute place that was in "You've Got Mail"

We enjoyed our week in NYC with our two teenage kids! The apartment was comfortable and clean, and perfectly located for a genuine New York experience (much better than staying in a hotel). We found the space a little tight (esp. the bathroom), but managed. I would suggest installing towel hooks on the wall outside the bathroom for towels to dry. We felt very safe in the area and enjoyed all of the perks of the Upper West Side. We recommend Sarabeth's for breakfast/brunch and Isabella's for lunch/dinner. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Would Love To Return!

First time in NY for everyone in my family except my wife who was born in NYC on Staten Island. We all had a very pleasant 4 night stay in Tony & Elaine's two bedroom apartment in Upper Westside Manhattan. Apartment was clean and well kept. All beds incl sofa bed very comfortable. Tony was the perfect host. Easily accessible if there was a problem, but left with complete privacy otherwise. Appartment was furnished with everything expected or needed, even coffee available to brew first morning. Apartment is in perfect location. Two block walk to Redline Metro in one direction and two blocks to Blue and Yellow line Metros in other. Two blocks to Central Park and Museum of Natl History, Metropolitan Museum of Art straight across Park. Safe, kid friendly neighborhood with good resturants and grocery/dry goods shopping in easy walking distance. Big Nicks Burgers at 2175 Broadway and Francesco's Pizzeria at 186 Columbus Ave my two favorites. Smartest thing I did was renting this flat!

Fantastic experience in New Your
March 17, 2009
I would like to thank our host's for a great stay for first timers in New York. They had all information and direction on hand in the appartment. Apartment in located conveniently to the subway and bus system with many restaurants and bars located close by. The locaton is in a very safe part of Manhatten. The appartment was clean and met all our requirments. We cooked a few nights as everything that we needed was there. I would not hesitate to recommend these host and their appartments to our friends and family. Thanks again for our wonderful time in New York.

We were 4 adults in the apartment. The space is tight but nothing is lacking. We felt at home especially in the kitchen. We cooked twice at home and we found every thing we needed. The neighbourhood was very proper, quiet, safe. Tony was always helpful and nice. All our correspondance was very fluent. We will remember it as a good experience.

Upper West Side Delight
November 19, 2008
Our entire family of 10 adults and a 7 month old baby just spent 4 exciting days using these 2 delightful apartments on the Upper West Side as our home base. We have always stayed at mid-town hotels in the past and were very pleased that we chose this option instead. The apartments are just far enough off Amsterdam and Columbia Avenues to provide a quiet, almost suburban feel. Yet the proximity to the shops on Amsterdam, Columbia and and Broadway, and the ease of getting downtown via either of the subway lines within a 3 minute walk provided for all the convenience of a mid-town hotel. Elaine and Tony are charming, helpful and gracious hosts. We will return!

Great location-within walking distance to Central Park attractions and many little shops and outdoor restaurants on Columbus and Amsterdam...good location if you do not want to be in the craziness of Times Square- you are close enough to walk to shopping and the Museums and just a taxi ride away from Times Square, Canal Street, etc. Nice size apt for our family..was able to cook dinner a couple of nights and save a little money on meals. Great to have a refrigerator and microwave. Owners were very accomodating and met us upon arrival even though our plane was delated for 4 hrs and we did not arrive until 2am! The whole process was very easy. All done through emails.... Looking forward to returning again!

We have just enjoyed 5 nights at this property and had a wonderful time. The location is fabulous, with great access to subway, grocery, shopping, restaurants and quiet nights. Bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and with air-conditioning units and ceiling fans, we had a comfortable stay in the middle of summer! We totally recommend this location - we are a family of 4, two adults and two kids (ages 9 and 11) and this met all our needs! Enjoy!

Great apartment
August 1, 2008
We (four of us) stayed in the apartment 2 A for a week and we enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, only one block away from the American Museum of Natural History and only a block and a half away from a subway east or west. Also, there are a great deal of nice restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood (Zabar's!!!). The apartment was clean, comfortable and everything worked perfectly. We would like to make one suggestion: it would be usefull to have more cutlery in the kitchen. We would definetely recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to stay in New York for a longer period of time.

Excellent Stay
July 15, 2008
Apartment was as advertised with plenty of space for our group of four sisters. It was easy to access by car and by cab. We enjoyed the neighborhood immensely, even beginning to feel like it was "ours" by the end of our stay. The owners were easily contacted for questions and the information they provided was very helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone considering for their rental.

Great place to stay in Manhattan
June 2, 2008
This apartment was a perfect location for our Manhattan vacation. Steps to the park, restaurants, shops and subway stations, yet in a quiet brownstone neighborhood. The apartment was clean and well furnished. Instructions were clear and our hosts were very well organized and helpful in finding interesting things to do during our stay.

Great apartment, great location
March 24, 2008
We feel really lucky to have found Elaine & Tony's apartment in New York for our first family holiday to USA. The apartment is lovely - bright, clean and really well stocked and was perfect for our family of 5, including 2 teenagers. The location is fantastic, really close to subway, buses and with great restuarants/shops nearby. We particularly like "Good enough to eat" at 483 Amsterdam Avenue for breakfast and for dinner, "Al Dente" on corner of Amsterdam & 80th, about 2 minute walk from the apartment. Definitely worth a visit is "Fairways" supermarket at 212 Broadway - as I'm coeliac I have to eat a gluten free diet and 2nd floor in Fairways has a fantastic selection of gluten free and organic foods. Also fruit & veg is amazing. Overall, a brilliant first taste of NY which has left us all wanting to return soon. Finally thanks to Elaine & Tony who were great to deal with at all times. We will be back.........

A great experience
March 24, 2008
We are a family of five and our stay in Apt 2A was a 5 star experience. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We were able to be together as a family, but still have enough space to spread out and have some privacy. Having a kitchen allowed us to prepare some of our meals or bring in pre-prepared meals from great eating places all within walking distance. Apartment location was great. We felt safe walking to the corner deli at Columbus St. for a quick snack or drink. We were conveniently located near bus, taxis and subways. We were always 2-10 minutes away from tourist attractions, but after a day of noise and crowds, we could come "home" to a nice, quiet street. Thank you to Elaine and Tony who were gracious hosts, making our trip a complete New York experience!
