Write a review We had the best time possible in NYC made that much better staying in Winstons Apartment in Queens. Close to manhattan by subway but far enough to get a great feel of the city we had no problems with this accommodation at all. Winston was very helpful answering all our questions before we even asked them. The Apartment is well set up with a family in mind. We travelled (with 3 children) through many cities on this trip and this was the best apartment we found. We are reccomending this place to all our friends and can't wait to go back. Thanks Winston. We spent our (one week) holiday with our three children (21,20 and 18) and liked the aprtment very much. It takes only 10 min. from JFK and Manhatten is easy to be reached by subway; it takes about 30 min (10 min walk and 20 by subway). The apartment had all the facilities we needed: kitchen, bathroom and a comfortable place to stay after a long day of hard sightseeing in the city. There are several shops nearby (only 5 min. by foot) and another big advantage is the price: you won't find a place like this for this price in Manhattan! Overall: we had a wonderful stay and will definitely recommend this place to others. My stay in NY would not have been so perfect if i had not found this wonderful apartment. It is conveniently situated arnd 30 mins from NY city centre (via subway), 5 mins walk to the subway station, adjacent a grocery store and a beautiful park just around the block. The apartment is very clean on the second floor of a 2-storey house. It is fully equipped with everything you need including clean towers, kitchen tools. It even has cable tv with 2000+ channels to choose from! This first visit to NY from Hong Kong was very worthwhile and this apartment made everything perfect! I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends who plan to visit the city. Last time in New York we stayed in a Manhattan hotel and did all the main Manhattan sights. This time we wanted to taste the other side of New York -- Queens, Brooklyn and further afield. Winston's first floor apartment -- clean and well-equipped -- was ideal for two adults and a teenager. TVs in both bedrooms plus a kitchen and a "compact" living/dining room. It is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood with never a hint of trouble or unpleasantness when we came back late at night. Two subway stations are within 10 minutes walk (about 30 minutes to central Manhattan)-- a big supermarket and a brilliant buffet restaurant are 3 minutes away. Weekly tickets for subway and buses are great value at 21 dollars. Winston was a great host, unobtrusive but always on hand. I have to admit that we were warned before going that some advertised apartment deals around New York are a scam so we were a little wary. But this is the real deal for those who want to stay somewhere out of the ordinary. We were in NY for the US Open and Yankee game and this was the perfect place to stay for the trip. Very convenient to subway as advertised. The Apt. is very clean and comfortable. Thanks to Winston and Paloma for their help with everything from helping us find a local pizza place late at night to transportation into Manhattan and other locations. We enjoyed our stay in Queens very much, the area was very safe,no problem coming and going late at night.The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Winston was a wonderful host who was always on hand with information and assistance. I'm so glad that I found this apartment when I was looking for a place for my family to stay during our visit to NYC. It was large enough for my two teenage sons who like to spread out and they loved the TV in their room! The whirlpool bath saved my legs after we had walked all day. And the towels were the best we've ever had away from home. It is very convenient to the subway which we used a lot. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. There's a laundry about 3 or 4 blocks away that we used twice, several food choices, and a grocery store. And the rental price was fantastic! We definitely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to NYC. Hi Winston! It was our first trip to NY and we found this apartment as a very good alternative to the hotels in Manhattan (much more space and a lower price). The standard is good and with two nice bedrooms and a great bathroom the four of us (my wife and two teenage-girls) had nothing to complain about. The distance to Manhattan is just 20 min. with the subway (Metro-card 7 days=25 dollar). We would love to come back another time. We had a fantastic stay at this property in Queens, New York. The apartment was excellent for us and our three children aged 7, 9 and 11. The Subway station is about a 10 minute walk along interesting tree lined streets and Manhattan is about 20 minutes away. Staying in the Queens neighborhood showed us a real, traditional New York suburb and we spent some evenings watching the local lads and girls play basketball and racquets in the park, which also has a great play area. Winston could not have been more helpful with maps, directions and general advice. The apartment is a good size so we were able to spread out and when we apologized to Winston for the noise the children were making his response was that it was a happy noise so it was good to hear. In june 2008 we(2 couples) visited Winstons' apartment for our NYC vacation. At the beginning we look apartments in manhattan. Bec of prices and apartment conditions we choose Winstons' apartment for our 1 week vacation to NYC. Its a very nice and confortable apartment. If you want to visit NYC and do not want to pay lots of dollars to a hotel or apartment in manhattan you need to choose Winstons apartment. Apartment is close by the subway, a huge grocery, food court, rent a car service etc. Area is safe to walk also at midnight. For the 3 of us, who went on holiday to 4 different cities and stayed in 4 different accommodations, we all agreed that this apartment was definitely the best we stayed in. 2 big bedrooms, kitchens with everything included, a bathroom with toilet and bath, which includes a whirlpool. We sure used that one a couple of times. Supermarket, pharmacy, laundry, restaurants, etc are all very nearby. So is the subway who takes you directly to Manhatten. Neighbourhood is quiet and very safe. We're all students, which means that we had to keep costs very low, especially when you're travelling to 3 other big cities. My friends were surprised that we got such a great apartment for a cheap price. Especially when you're in New York, because we have been looking for accommodations in New York, but everything is so expensive. It was our first time in New York and we had such a great time in here. We all will definitely come back to New York and stay again in this apartment. I've been to New York several times and stayed in lots of different hotels, but this was by far the best experience. The apartment was very nice and very clean. There was more than enough space in the apartment for me and my two friends. It was great to be able to get up and cook a nice breakfast before taking the subway into the city. We came home very late a couple of times, but felt secure in the unfamiliar area. Although the subway ride was a little long coming from the city, it was well worth the comfort and the price of the apartment. With a grocery store right around the corner and only a five minute walk to the subway, I would recommend staying at this location to anyone who wants to experience what living in New York City is really like. We had a great time and can't wait to come back and do it all over again. Thank you for making our trip memorable! The apartment is cute from the street and very nicely decorated inside. It has brand new appliances and a luxury bath. The bedrooms both have cable and comfortable beds. Paloma was very friendly and kindly met us when we arrived very late at night. She showed us how to operate the various appliances and TVs. Paloma also left us a map and directions to local restaurants, shops and other facilities. The apartment is conveniently located in Queens near to JFK (but you can't hear the planes, so don't worry). It is close to several subway stations (within 10 minute walk). If you are from London it's like staying in a flat in Hammersmith and Fulham, where you get the benefit of more space than a central London hotel, but still near to the underground and closer to Heathrow airport (which is handy if you have an early flight). I highly recommend the apartment and intend to stay again in the future. I just can't say enough about my stay at this apartment!! My friend and I had stayed at two other apts in Manhattan and this was our last place, we definitely saved the best for last!! Winston was such a wonderful host and help to us, and the apt had every amenity you could possibly need when staying away from home!! The jacuzzi was awesome, especially after coming home from a day of walking around all day! My advice is to stay in Queens and take the subway into Manhattan, you won't regret it! The subway makes it easy to get into the city quickly and trust me, you will like this apt much more than any apt in Manhattan.
