Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Manhattan, New York
October 19, 2014
"My sisters, mother and I enjoyed a four night stay in this comfortable little apartment from October 9 to 13. From inquiry to check out, the entire experience was very smooth and easy. Anthony and Elaine are extremely good to deal with, respond to all inquiries immediately, and made the payment and check in process very easy and clear. The apartment is in a great location, with plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops all around. It is also very close to the subway stops for easy transportation. We felt very safe and comfortable in the neighborhood, even at night. The apartment building is a little older but well maintained with a locking lobby. Ours was on the third floor and there is no elevator. It wasn't a problem for us but could be for those with mobility issues. The apartment has plenty of room in both bedrooms, and the sofas are quite comfortable for relaxing although we didn't need them for sleeping so can't comment there. It is well stocked with all a lovely little kitchen and nice appliances. Linens and towels, etc are plentiful; not high end but very clean. Plenty of dishes, glasses, cutlery as well as a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. It makes it easy to pop by Zabar's market for some basic breakfast and snack supplies. Because of the placement of the apartment in the rear of the building, it doesn't get much natural light but on the plus side it is very quiet, which was important to us. Each room has a ceiling fan plus a window air conditioner, which is great as even in October we liked some cooler air. The only thing I would recommend are needed are a couple of tall floor lamps in the living area to cast more light, and some more functional lamps in the bedrooms. For a two bedroom apartments, with a queen, double and single bed (plus two fold out couches), we paid $1500.00 for four nights, taxes and cleaning fees included. We considered this a great deal for the space, location, and comfort. For sure we recommend this hidden gem and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Anthony and Elaine!

This was an excellent stay for our party of six adults. There were two rooms and two pull out beds. Great location for getting around town in Manhattan and a very safe neighborhood. It was easy getting access to the apartment and for checking out. We were able to check in early, which was great since we didn't have to carry our baggage around. The fair to LGA airport wasn't bad either, give or take somewhere around $30-40. The place was located between Amsterdam and Columbus and had many restaurants around it. Would stay here again.

Everything you need in a perfect location!

I spent a week in this apartment and was very happy with the accommodations. I walked into a spotless apartment. That was a major plus! There is ample space to spread out. Not cramped at all! There are working air conditioners in every room. There are ample supplies of clean towels, bedding and paper products. The location is amazing. Did I mention how clean it was ;) I felt safe at all times of day and night. A short walk a few minutes in one direction gets you to the #1 train and in the other direction the A,C, and E trains. Restaurants abound, Central Park, and the Museum of Natural History are minutes away. Communication with the manager is quick and super efficient. If you want a break from the madness of Times Square, this quiet location is just right.
Cute apartment and excellent location

We were 4 adults returning to NYC to play tourist after moving away 20+ years ago. Upon arrival, the apartment had a major heating problem which was resolved. The landlord was responsive and once it was fixed, we found the apt to be charming and in the perfect location. The Upper West Side neighborhood was perfect because of its proximity to transportation, multiple restaurants and pubs. We particularly enjoyed Cafe 82 on Broadway for its delicious and CHEAP breakfast specials. Also Fred's and the Barley and Grain restaurants were close and excellent. We parked for free on the street except for 2 days when we used the garage down the street. Our trip was wonderful! Thank you Anthony and Elaine. :o)
Great location, Great Apartment, Nice and Easy!!!

Enough space for six persons, cozy apartment, very quiet and safe. Near by 81th subway station, very close to Central Park. Is close to many grocery stores, I recommend the Zabar's. There are a lot of variety of restaurants and places to have breakfast or do a brunch. The apartment is very well equipped, the internet is fast. In short, is an excellent apartment to meet and discover NYC. The owner is very discreet and friendly. It was a great trip, a fantastic experience.

Nice Area, nice accomodations
November 13, 2009
Accomodations were nice and well appointed. Everything appeared to be clean, but we noted dirt and food particles underneath the sofa. However, overall, we would stay here again because of the ideal location and the relatively economical rates, along with all the amenities in the condo.

Great for Families Looking to Explore NYC
August 9, 2009
The neighborhood is wonderful and the apartment was clean, well-equipped, and spacious enough for our family of five. The location could not be better, in a safe and fun neighborhood close to restaurants and attractions. We were able to explore the city easily from this "home base" with many attractions within walking distance and metro stops nearby. Central Park, the Natural History Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Zabar's, and restaurants galore are all within easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend the apartment and would stay again ourselves.

safe and satisfied

This second floor apt was in a safe neighborhood and close enough (within two blocks) to three subway lines. This is a long, narrow apt with larger bedroom in the rear with twin beds for two of our kids, a pullout couch in the small living room for our college son, and a smaller but adequate bedroom with a comfortable king size bed in the front of the apt. The walls are thin and we could hear a baby crying and people moving around above us. Yet, we were so tired we didn't mind. Renters were responsive and available. Didn't need more than an extra towel. Internet wokred well thru ethernet cable they provided. Safe enough that we let teenage daughter walk around the upper west side alone during daylight hours. Right next to Museum of Natural History. Need to climb about twenty fairly steep steps to get to your second floor apt. Highly recommend this for families of four or five who want to spend a week exploring New York. I would stay here with my family again.
