EATING OUT
SEAFOOD: Mermaid Inn -- 96 2nd Ave at 5th Street
Fantastically fresh seafood in a non-pretentious atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. Reservations recommended.
ITALIAN: Frank -- 88 2nd Ave at 5th Street
Fresh made pasta in a vibrant and lively atmosphere. They also own Supper and Little Frankies which are equally delectable.
INDIAN: Brick Lane -- 306 E. 6th Street between 2nd and 1st Aves
Great if you're craving something spicy from the charming Curry row.
SNACKS: Pommes Frites --123 2nd Ave at 7th St
Great late-night eats or something to snack on to tie you over.
NOODLES: Momofuku -- 163 1st Ave at 10th St
The chicken ramen is hits the spot if you're thinking noodles and the pork buns are outrageously delicious. They also own the Ssam Bar.
SPANISH: Boca Chica -- 13 1st Ave at 1st Street
Love this place and they make a killer margarita. Great food (can't miss with anything on the menu) in a fun atmosphere.
SUSHI: Natori -- 58 St. Mark's Place between 2nd and 1st Aves
Small and no-nonsense, but solid sushi that delivers.
FRENCH: Jules -- 65 St. Mark's Place near 1st Avenue
This place not only has a great atmosphere, but the food is great even if the service can be very... French at times. Jules usually feature a live jazz band.
THAI: East Village Thai -- 32 7th Street between 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave
This joint is ideal for take out. It's my fave Thai joint in the East Village and is always consistent.
