This is an extremely comfortable and quiet apartment, full of art and personal details, ideal for a couple or single person wishing for a lovely, safe and central location in Manhattan. Please note that this is a pre-war walk-up, classic New York tenement, and therefore there is no elevator and 3 flights of stairs up to the apartment.
This is also a no smoking, "no shoes" apartment. Thank-you.

One of the best coffee shops in New York, Grumpy's is across the street.
It's quiet and safe because there is a neighbourhood police station on the friendly, tree-lined block. Restaurants flank the block on each avenue and everything is within easy walking distance.
There is immediate access to subways and taxis. The closest subway is 1 and other lines 2,3,A,C,E,L,F and V subway lines are within a 3 block walking distance. You can get to Times Square, Central Park and Soho with a 5 minute subway ride.
Trader Joes, the most economical grocery store in Manhattan is just 4 blocks away. Whole Foods market which offers great quality and organic food is 4 blocks away. There are 24 hour delis on the corner, plus a laundromat, liquor store, pharmacy and daycare within 1 block.
Some of the best restaurants and shopping are close to the apartment, including Eataly, Cafeteria, The Shake Shack at Madison Square Park, Westville, and many Home Decor and design stores and antique markets.
It is a 10 minute walk to the West Village, Meat Packing District, Flatiron district and Madison Square Park - all of which offer different experiences of NYC. The newly opened hip Highline park is only a 5 to 10 minute walk away. The Chelsea Gallery district is 15 minutes (walking) from the apartment, and there you'll also find the Hudson River Park and its bike and walking paths, the Circle Line, skate parks, Chelsea Piers etc.
It's a 10 to 15 minute walk to Union Square, Washington Square Park and 34th Street Penn Station.
All airports are fairly easy to get to. La Guardia is a 30 minute cab ride, 20 minutes when no traffic (6am). The A,C,E subway line takes you straight to JFK or a cab would take you there in 45 minutes. Newark Airport is about 45 minutes away. Ofcourse with heavy traffic these trips will take longer.

This was our first trip in NYC with our children. We were looking for an accommodation close to children friendly points of interest, safe, clean, in summary somewhere we could just fell like at home. This apartment is exactly what we were looking for. Plus Anu's hospitality already mentioned many times by previous travelers.

A very spacious and sunny (southern exposure) apartment on a friendly street in the heart of Chelsea. Me and my friends were able to eat out every night and then hit up the bars all within walking distance. Everything you'll need for a holiday in NYC has been provided in the apartment. Anu was always available to answer any questions. I will certainly recommend this place to friends.

My wife, son, his girlfriend and I stayed for five nights in the apartment and found it to be very adequate, charming, well kept and clean and, more importantly, the owner was delightful and helpful. All and all an excellent stay, many thanks.

Anu is lovely to deal with, the apartment is cozy and very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, 2 large windows look out onto a quiet street (the 10th Precinct is on the block) and there is a very good coffee shop just across the street too. The 3 floor walk-up is good for your legs! The rent is reasonable for New York and 2 couples could split it. Loved the apartment and loved New York! Shelley Hakonson.

Thanks to Anu for her hospitality. The apartment was very clean when we checked in and Anu helped us a lot. The building is very close to meatpacking district and good restaurants. The only thing I can criticise is the uncomfortable sofa in the living room. It's a good idea to rent this apartment if you spend couple of weeks in manhattan.
