Description of the Manhattan vacation apartment rental
Stylish apartment on top two floors.

An oasis from the bustle of the city, this is the prefect base to discover New York City, enjoy Central Park and to visit Museum Mile. Well connected by subway and bus. Easy waking distance to many great restaurants - or order in!

Lovingly decorated with a Southern French touch, you will feel right at home. The apartment is spread out over two full floors, which makes it spacious and comfortable. The high ceilings give an extra sense of ease.

Many lovely features include a grand staircase, working fireplace, dining room, sky lights etc., The couch in the living room turns into a fold-out bed, so the apartment can accommodate up to 6 people.

Our house is located on York Avenue, 1 block from Carl Schurz Park. The park looks out over the East River with it's lively boats and ships, framed by the impressive TriBorough bridge and the 59th Street bridge.

The park has been beautifully renovated and is the home of Gracie Mansion, the residence of the New York Mayor. In the summer people use the park to sunbath, walk their dogs, play basketball, skate hockey, for jogging and bicycling. The park is also home of a large playground.

York Avenue is more quiet than the other avenues, and has a distinct neighborhood feel. The neighborhood is family friendly and very safe. You find many shops, restaurants and movie theaters on 86 Street and the surroundings. If you prefer to eat at home, we have many menus to order in.

Central Park is an easy 15 minute walk away. You can also take the crosstown bus, which stops across the street, for a 5 min. ride to 5th Avenue & Central Park. Many of the museums and cultural institutions are right there, including the Metropolitan Museum, the Guggenheim, The Cooper Hewitt Museum, Neue Galerie, The Jewish Museum and so on as part of the Museum Mile.

"Me and my friends enjoyed Goetz's apartment: it is cozy, tidy and well organized. He is a nice host, neat and always helpful.

The neighborhood is so quite, safe and typical that I would suggest this accommodation to any one who would like to feel like a real new yorker."

Eugenio, January 2014

"Goetz was a wonderful host. The home was clean and in good working order. All in all, a great experience with Goetz and his place. Highly recommend!"

Patrick, October 2013

"My girlfriends and I really didn't know what to expect with the apt or what the neighborhood would be like upon arrival. Well I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood was great. The apt was just as great. We walked in and felt right at home. Plenty of room for the three of us. It was nice that we could gather in the living room to talk and have some drinks without the worry of having to meet in a lobby somewhere. The apt was decorated with very interesting pieces and was very clean and cozy. Our host, Goetz was great answering any of my silly questions. I highly recommend this property."

Lyn, October 2013

"Goetz's place was lovely. Immaculately clean, well furnished. Great location -- we enjoyed walks by the East River, had easy cross town access to the West Side as well. Goetz was responsive and great to deal with."
