Large deck on the front of the home for awesome views. Second, lakeside bedroom with a queen bed, and 3rd bedroom with two twin beds. Modern amenities include Internet service, computer, copier, printer and satellite TV, washer & dryer. Area Information
The Manitowish Waters area is the ideal spot to get away from it all. Manitowish Waters is known for its quiet, less stressful surroundings perfect for a family vacation, reunion, romantic getaway, hunting or fishing excursion. The town is best known for its chain of lakes. It is also known as an artists' enclave, with many artist studios and gift shops located in the downtown and surrounding areas. With a unique connection of 10 pristine lakes and rivers, the Manitowish Waters chain of lakes is perfect for leisure boating, water sports, and fishing, or go by boat to the beach or downtown for lunch or dinner. You can also enjoy the Manitowish River, which offers breathtaking beauty and quiet seclusion for canoeing, kayaking or tubing. If you preference is land over water, Manitowish Waters scenic forests offer many opportunities for hiking, biking, birding, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. The fall colors are a must-see in the Northwoods, and Manitowish Waters is the place to glimpse them. You can fish, hunt, hike, bird watch, bike, or take a nap! Another highlight of the fall season is the cranberry harvest. Many of the local cranberry growers offer marsh tours that make for an entertaining and educational family excursion. When the ground is covered in snow you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride on several miles of well-groomed snowmobile trails. Cross country skiing is also available and down hill ski hills are nearby. Manitowish Waters is a great place to get away from it all. With a wide variety of restaurants for any taste or budget, whatever your pleasure, Manitowish Waters is a can’t-miss destination any time of the year.
Several parks in the area offer additional recreation: Koller Memorial Park in the downtown area hosts “Music in the Park” – free entertainment on Sunday afternoons mid-June thru August, swimming, boat parking, and Fishing pier, Grills, Picnic Tables, and Port-a-Potties. Rest Lake Park, has a boat ramp, Pavilion, Picnic tables, Grills, swim area, restrooms and is the home of the Skiing Skeeters water ski shows (mid-June through mid-August). There is also a Playground located at the Community Center by the Airport with restrooms and tennis courts, and Little Star Beach is accessible by watercraft (or car). The North Lakeland Discovery Center is nestled on 63-acres within the Northern Highlands State Forest and offers countless opportunities to explore the Northwoods. With twelve miles of hiking, biking, groomed skiing, and snowshoe trails you can wander through large pine and maple forests, see bogs and lakes and even get stunning views of the beautiful Manitowish River. Other drop-in activities include kayaking, canoeing and fishing on pristine Statehouse Lake. And with naturalists on staff, their programs offer learning adventures for adults, family and children.
This is a dream vacation location. Everything you need for a memorable vacation is here.
