Egret-A waterfront cottage on the Albemarle Sound

Your cottage is wonderful and such a relaxing and quiet place.
We thoroughly enjoyed being there. Your home is laid out well, the screen porch adds to the enjoyment.
It was a much needed and restful place to take a break.
The breaking of the water on the banks, watching the boats glide by and the fishermen
haul in crab cages and watching the pelicans swoop down over the water was so restful and pleasant.
Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege to have such a lovely place to rest.

The Egret cottage is everything I need for the ideal coastal plains vacation.
Seclusion and relaxing solitude, can't be-beaten scenery and views on the
Albemarle, a day trip within an easy drive in each direction, and within 5 minutes from a quaint down east village.
The fishing and paddling variety can't be beaten. I paddle and fish different water every day.
We have been staying at the Egret regularly for years. It's my secret hideaway.

So, we fell madly in love with your charming cottage and the area!!!!

We could take our kayaks out the back door
and spend the day paddling up and down the shoreline.

I was just going to let you know that my husband and I had a wonderful time
at Egret! We just loved the privacy and isolation while still getting to
enjoy the water and a beautiful view! We loved sitting out on the pier and
watching the sunset. The screened in porch is awesome and so comfortable.
We took the [Scuppernong River] boat ride that is offered at the Visitor's Center and
enjoyed that and went over to Bodie Island and sat on the beach. We looked
for bear but didn't get to see any this time.
We enjoyed our getaway and thank you for opening your place to us.

Our stay at the cottage was WONDERFUL. It was the perfect place for some
much needed R&R, regrouping, and most importantly reconnection. Although
the weather was not as cooperative as we would have liked, the comforts
and coziness of the cottage set the perfect ambiance for the much needed
quality time we spent. We look forward to returning since it is now a
special place for us.

My husband and I really enjoyed the stay at Egret! We really had a wonderful time
and it is so peaceful there! We were so sad that we only had 2 days to enjoy it!
We didn'tdo anything but stay in our last full day and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

The cottage is beautifully furnished and located on a quiet stretch of
the Albemarle Sound- it provided the backdrop for a perfect weekend
getaway! The screened porch is a great place to relax or bird watch, and
the dock and views over the sound are lovely. The property is close
enough to the outer banks for a day trip, but far enough from the
touristy areas for some peace and quiet. There are also some nice local
historic sites and opportunities to view wildlife. We visited in late
November, and had great luck with the weather- sunny and sixty-five degrees!

This place was perfect for relaxing, and for day trips to shop or dine at the beach. I'm coming back with my son for Easter! I think honeymooners would love this cottage.
