Egret On The Sound is a waterfront cottage on the Albemarle Sound in North Carolina. Egret is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with full kitchen, screened porch, dock and gas grill. It sleeps 4.

Area Description

Egret On the Sound vacation rental is close enough to the Outer Banks beach towns of Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Manteo to explore, yet far enough away to be in our own peaceful and private location. Ideally sited to explore the natural and historic areas around the Albemarle Sound, from Plymouth to Edenton to Elizabeth City, or Lake Mattamuskeet, Palmetto Pear Tree Preserve and the Great Dismal Swamp.

If you like watersports and boating you can bring your kayak or canoe and put right in at the cottage. A number of boat ramps in the area are available for motor boats. Hunting is also popular in the area. You can fish right from the dock at the cottage. Several natural areas have hiking trails.

Birdwatching, fishing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, boating are several of the options for you at our vacation rental near the Outer Banks on the Albemarle Sound in North Carolina.

If historic properties are of interest, there are several historic plantations, including Somerset Place and Hope Plantation, and towns with lots of historic interest.

Columbia is our closest town - with only 900 residents, the town still retains the warmth and friendliness of southern small towns. Two restaurants, a marina, wonderful walking trails, a new grocery store. Within 30-45 minutes are other towns that have everything you could want, too.
