Charming Manzanita Oregon Beach House Retreat with DSL internet access ( WiFi wireless internet access). Three bedroom, one bath beach vacation home located in north Manzanita, Oregon (Neahkahnie). Starting March 2010, this home will have two bathrooms. This lovely vacation rental is situated on a large lot in a beautiful setting. Large panoramic windows overlook Neah-kah-nie Mountain and meadows where the resident elk often graze. There is a nice view fom every room. (the photo of the beach is not the view from the house, it is the beach you see when you walk 5-7 minutes down the street.)

This Manzanita vacation home has brand new hardwood floors, new furnishings, new high-end linens and a fully equipped kitchen. I took pride to provide the highest quality furnishings, linens and kitchenware. Each bed is new and mattresses are exceptional. The sheets are high thread count 100% cotton, the duvet covered comforters and pillows are high-end down and the towels are new, plush and soft. Each room is designed very tastefully. We have children, so we decorated the twin room with them in mind. (Regatta theme) There are also a basket of toys, books, many, many videos for all ages, , child's table and chairs and a large yard to run and play with a playhouse and swing set (swing, tireswing and climbing platform).

Free WiFi (wireless internet) throughout the house for our renters. The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchenware for 8 people. All the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. are new. There is also a coffee maker, toaster and microwave, waffle maker, rice cooker and much more. There is a deck, table and chairs in the back and a charcoal barbecue for outside grilling.

Just a short 5-7 minute walk to a spectacular beach (see photo of beach) and a one mile walk to downtown Manzanita, Oregon.

This home is a wonderful place to have a fun, relaxing family vacation or a romantic beach getaway.

No smoking/ No pets....no exceptions!!

Here's some information about things to do in or near Manzanita.

Oswald West State Park is located a few miles north of our house. This is a great place for the family, and one of our favorite destinations. The short walk from the parking lots to the beach is beautiful (rain forest with bridges, rivers etc) and the beach is wonderful.

Hug Point - about 10 minute drive north of our house on HWY 101. During low tide, you can go inside caves and see lots of sea life in tidepools.

Arcadia Beach - just north of Hug Point. It's best during low tide. Beautiful beach, lots of tide pools and large rocks jutting out of the water.

In Manzanita, you have everything you need from ice cream stores to very nice restaurants. You can go horseback riding, rent a kayak, rent a surfboard (Oswald West beach is great for surfing), go fishing in Nehalem River just south of Manzanita. The mountain you see from our house is called Neahkahnie Mountain. There's great trails to hike, and an amazing view of the coast.

Nehalem, couple miles south of Manzanita, is located on the Nehalem River which empties into Nehalem Bay. The river offers excellent fishing. The Nehalem Dock offers a small float with benches for sitting and enjoying the peace of the river (located next door to Nehalem Dock Restaurant). There is a public boat launch just south of Nehalem with a large parking lot and easy access for kayakers wishing to paddle on the river or up to the estuary at Wheeler. Wheeler, a few south of Nehalem offers several large antique stores. It's a small but nice town to visit.

Tillamook is about 30 minutes south and they have tours at the Tillamook Cheese factory. I prefer to be outside, but the kids enjoyed it. There is also an Air Museum in Tillamook.

If you chose to not go anywhere but the beach down the street, that's great too. The attached picture of my son walking on our beach at sunset.

Hike up Neah-kah-Nie mountain, bike along the beach. The beach, just minutes walk from the house, is one of the best kite boarding and wind surfing locations on the North Coast. Manzanita/Neah-kah-nie beach is a pristine, seven-mile stretch of clean, hard sand...perfect for building sandcastles, running, or building a bon fire. There are state parks on either side of Manzanita/Neah-kah-nie. To the north, Oswald West State Park is a beautiful rain forest with spectacular hiking trails and Short Sands Beach, popular with surfers and boogey boarders. To the south, there is Nehalem Bay State Park, with beaches that
offer birding, horseback rides to the jetty and a boat launch on Nehalem Bay, for great fishing.

The town of Manzanita, one mile walk, offers restaurants, a tavern, cafes and shops. Cannon Beach is a short 15 minute drive up Hwy-101.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was pretty kid-friendly, comfortable, and had an excellent location, very near the beach (a five minute walk), and so much to see and do if one is willing to get in the car and take short half day trips.

This property was better than expected! Property was very clean, fully equipted kitchen, bathroom, laundry and living areas, upgraded linens were appreciated. We enjoyed both vcr and dvd players for movies. Super location to town, resturants, ice cream shops and beaches. The house had a lot of upgrades and had recent remodeling giving it a modern feel. Huge private lot with great views of surrounding peaceful homes in meadows offered a wonderful quiet setting. The BBQ, childrens playhouse and large separate outdoor deck were great as was the weather. This home is great for families with children. The visiting Elk and deer were a extra bonus as was the short walk to the beach. We recommend staying here and visiting Manzanita because of our fantastic experience.

Words cannot describe how much we love this little house in Manzanita. It is so pretty, clean and has a very comfortable feel. The location can't be beat, with access to both the beach and town. The kids loved running around the huge backyard, while we hung out on the porch late into the evenings. We will continue to return to this home in the years to come without hesitation!

We love Manzanita, and your little cottage is just perfect! We used to go to Seaside, but once we stayed at your place, we were Manzanita converts. The house is clean, well stocked, and exceptionally comfortable. There is a bubbling creek nearby, and I have seen lot's of deer and serene wildlife right outside our window. Last year my friend's came to visit, and their kids had a blast frolicking in the playhouse and the sizeable yard. The beach there is amazing. The best sunsets I have ever seen. When we stay there we have a bonfire on the beach every night. It is truly magnificent, and hard to leave. Thank you again for turning us on to your vacation rental!

Wonderful house...Great location! Surprised at the quality of the beds, sheets, towels...basically everything. We slept sooo well--much better than at home. Our three children loved it and so did we. We enjoyed relaxing and looking out the large windows in the mornings to see the mountain, meadows and elk. Yes...everyday we saw a family of elk right outside of the window! We went to Hug Point up the hwy and explored in the caves and played in the tide pools. The walk to the beach was short and easy. (We picked blackberries along the way.) The sunsets were amazing.
