The bedrooms have comfortable beds, pillows and linens and are all tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are clean and spacious with tub/shower combinations. The living space has comfortable seating to enjoy watching a movie or sitting by the fireplace. There is 2 recliners, a comfy couch and chair.
The home is owned by designer and is classy and simple, but every room makes you feel like you are at the beach. With a hickory hardwood floor and wood ceiling, people really feel warm and cozy in this house. Nestled in the trees, away from the wind, there are two large, furnished decks you can enjoy. Its is truly the perfect location to enjoy walks on the beach and digging in the sand, while the main street is only a short walk that even toddlers can handle Amenities include: 3 hi-def TV’s with cable, VCR, DVD, Wifi, Ipod stereo dock, ping-pong, washer dryer, fireplace, comfortable furnishings.
Area Information
The quaint, outdoorsy town of Manzanita is both a family’s delight and an active persons dream. The town is located 13 miles South of Cannon Beach and 30 miles North of Tillamook. The town and beach is bordered on the North by Neakhanie Mtn (which is a wonderful hike) and to the South by Nehalem Bay State Park (which has a multitude of activities).

While strolling the beach one can often see surfers, boogie boarders, windsurfers and kite boarders testing their skills. Families activities include kite flying, sand castle building, bicycling, beach combing, dog walking, driftwood fort building, and bonfires. The beach is 7 miles long and flat, and easily accessible. Our home is 1.5 blocks to the beach. Manzanita can be warm and sunny while other towns in the summer can be foggy.

The quaint little town of Manzanita offers shopping, art galleries, wine tasting and some nice restaurants, which is all with in close walking distance of our house. Once you arrive and park your car, you do not need to use it until you leave! Other activities include a wonderful downtown park with tennis courts, a basketball hoop, and playground for small kids. Manzanita is one of the few coastal towns that has a golf course. Manzanita Golf Course is a nice little 9 hole track that winds through the woods and houses and is very well maintained and reasonably priced.

For the more active there are a number of hikes located nearby including Neakhanie Mtn. The Neakhanie Mtn trail starts about a mile North of town and is a relatively short (3 miles) but consistently uphill hike (900 feat of elevation gain) that affords one of the most breathtaking and spectacular views along the Oregon Coast. On a clear day if you’re adventurous and need to burn some energy this is a “can’t miss” and you will not be disappointed. Another mile North of Manzanita is Oswald West State Park, which is a beautiful, short hike down to the beach through old growth forests. This beach is a favorite among surfers and locals.

We find that family bike riding in Manzanita is ideal as the town is off the main highway (101) and does not get a lot of traffic that many of the Oregon Coasts towns do. Biking to the Southern end of town allows a family to take advantage of the bike trails within Nehalem Bay State Park where deer and elk can often be spotted. The trails lead over to the bay side of the park where there is a boat launch, some great sand dunes for the kids to hike up and run down, and a great stroll along along the bay side where interesting enormous driftwood and snags can be seen and climbed on by kids. The majority of the biking can be done on flat terrain with little traffic. Bikes can be rented in town for use on the beach.

Crabbing can be found by either renting a boat from the marinas on inlet side of the bay or by simply renting crabpots and going right off the docks. If you’re luck isn’t great at crabbing you can purchase crab directly from marina. It’s a great activity for kids and a nice diversion. Additionally clamming is done right in the park as well, but you need a liscense. Be sure to check the tide tables and check with the locals regarding whether it’s a good time to crab or shellfish.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
The home is in a perfect, central location, right down the street from the ocean and a few blocks to the main street of town. Park you car, and walk everywhere! Manzanita can get windy in the afternoon. but this house is in an area where the wind is blocked, it is quiet and relaxing to sit outside at all times. The street is quiet and does'nt have much traffic, so kids can play out front, while relaxing on a chair on the large front porch. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, art galleries and coffee/ice cream parlors nearby, that young kids can walk to. Nehelem bay state park is nearby, city park, which has tennis and a playground, and Oswald West State park, which has the best surfing on the Oregon Coast. Everyone that stays here, wants to come back!

Great house, Location, Owners

this house was great. one block from the beach and a few blocks from the downtown, you couldnt ask for a better location. everything in the house was very modern and up to date so it felt very homely. You could sleep 8 very comfortably so it would be great for a family getaway. the owners were very helpful with information and prompt with returning calls to answer questions. We would definitely rent again.

Our family had an amazing time in this home in Manzanita. It was clean, comfortable, and close to the ocean. The kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable! There were games, books, puzzles, and toys available for the kids to play with. The house sits on a quiet street a short walk from town. Fabulous Beach House!

Just a quick note- my daughter and I retirned yesterday from 5 days at The Prince of Tides beach house. Such a gorgeous home, we were thrilled because it exceeded our expectations. Large well-lit open living and kitchen area were great because we could chat while one relaxing and the other preparing dinner. TVs in the master suite & bunkbed room were a welcome surprise and the beds were super comfy. Large kitchen table was perfect for playing Boggle and Scattergories! Beach walk is literally 2 minutes down the road. We will be back with more family next time, a perfect reunion venue.

Beautiful Manzanita Location

What a wonderful stay! Just as advertised. Short walk to the main business area and the beach. Clean!!! Everything was wonderful. Though the weather was stormy, the cosy house was warm and easy to relax in. We needed the rest and would highly recommend it. The owners were extremely helpful and ready to assist with any issues, which by the way, we never had any.

Great House!

We really enjoyed the house. It was perfect for 2 couples. The owner Doug was great with communication on the property. The house was modern with a real cozy/comfy feel to relax and enjoy. The kitchen is well stocked and ready for use. The house is in great condition. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a nice relaxing time on a quiet street. It is perfect for a family of 4-5. We plan on staying here again.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
Guestbook

My friends and I rented this house for the first time in April 2011. We were pleasantly suprised, this house is even nicer than the photos! We felt warm and comfy, even on a weekend that is was rainy outside. All the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and decorated nicely, and we were all happy. The bathrooms are clean, "beachy" and have nice linens. We cooked in the kitchen and had everything we needed to create a nice meal, while being a part of the rest of the house. I would recommend this house to grandparents with their kids and grandkids, two families, and also to groups of friends. All the bedrooms are large and everyone will be happy no matter which one they sleep in. Its also a perfect location!!!! Jenna Hill
