Description of the Manzanita vacation home rental

Lovely, warm and golden, this home that sits back from the beach still gives a panoramic view of not only the Neah-Kah-Nie Bluffs but waves as they roll in. A two story with two bedrooms down stairs and a large master bedroom upstairs affords privacy and yet is cozy at the same time.
This home features an abundance of wood accents in the home, from cute furniture pieces to the gorgeous lofted living and dining room so the warm feeling in conjunction with the great views promise a relaxing stay away from home.
Not only cozy on the inside, the home features a deck on the upper level for enjoying a glass of wine on while waiting for your dinner to simmer and there are two seating areas outside, one enclosed in a sunny spot and one for enjoying a deck sheltered from the wind.
As with all of our homes it is fully equipped with all kitchen items, linens, Wi-Fi, satellite TV w/DVD players, games, books, and more. Other amenities include a park within easy walking distance and, of course, the beach, a minute away... Close to town, the Lookout promises pleasant downtime...

Deposits: Security/Cleaning deposits: A $150 deposit is required. Deposits will be returned within 14 business days after departure, minus any accrued charges. Cleaning charges depend on you, are billed by the hour, ($30 per hour) and come out of your security/cleaning deposit. There is a standard check out sheet to follow, however, to help out with costs, you may choose to do some of the cleaning yourself. The minimum charge is $15, no exceptions. $40 per hour for excessive cleaning/laundry

Could use some updating but great place to stay!

If you're looking for an modern, up to date rental, this may not be the place for you. The floorcoverings, appliances, cabinets, etc. are very dated. But it kind of fit in with the charm of the place. It was very clean, cozy, & comfortable for us. We were worried about the master bed due to a previous review, but found it to be comfortable & we both slept like babies. We were worried about the view as well as you can never really tell how the pics were taken. You absolutely do get a view of the ocean & part of the beach, keep in mind you're also looking at roof tops too, but still a decent view. We actually put the beach style chairs on the outdoor bench to get a little better view over the roof tops while sipping Oregon pinot noir. You can definately hear the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked, there actually are old pictures on the walls and decorations on the tables & shelves in this place, where so many of the other places we considered had bare walls and were very sterile. The place does have a wood stove, so bring wood/kindling if you don't want to blow $5.00 for a tiny bundle of firewood from the local grocery store. It also has a gas grille in the garage. There are some quirky things about the place, pocket door from the garage to the laundry room, weird little nooks and crannies, small master bath, storm door to deck squeeks horribly, & even a little musky air to the place, (no one had rented it for a while), but we bought some cheap scented candles at the grocery store and after the 1st night it was gone. Beach access was easy with paths both to the north and south across the street from the house, (the north access has a creek you have to use logs to get across and then a steep bank), the south was easiest. Walking to the downtown shops/stores was simple whether we walked on the beach or road. The downtown wine bar, Vino, was cute and cozy with super friendly people and had great wine and music. The Big Wave had awesome food, (the eggs benedict at breakfast were amazing). While the place could use some updating, it was great to have a place with a view of the ocean, that was that close to the beach with good access, and at a great price. All the other places we considered were much more.

Great Getaway Spot

We spent two nights here over the Christmas Holiday. We try and get away with our college-aged sons at this time of year as we are Jewish and don't have other commitments on that day. The house was perfect for our party of five. The kitchen is the best equiped we have ever found at any rental property and made creating meals a breeze. Location was very good with great beach access and views. The King sized be was a little soft for our liking but the linens were more than adequate. Master bathroom was very small but with two other baths this was not much of a problem.

I have never taken a vaca with my little sister who is 30 or my little bro who is 25 in our whole lives. We wanted somewhere we could all meet up and this was the perfect place. The beach access was 50 ft away and perfect for our mom to walk to and easy on her, I took all my adult children and grandchildren our view was AMAZING and the weather was perfect waking up everymorning to drink my coffee to the sound of waves and the view will be very much missed. It was big enough for us all to eat,drink and socialize together,the house had everything we needed and nothing was off limits which was nice not seeing signs don't touch this,don't open that, it was like our friends invited us to stay at there home. Everything was clean and in good working condition and it had all supplies we needed including a great big fridge upstairs my husband is a chef and enough space is a big deal to him. We had a family party and there was even still room enough for that. Thank you so much we had the best time.
