Family Vacation

August 6, 2012

CannonPoint Fortress is a great place with a large family. We had six adults and a 10month old. Lots of room and plenty of space to move around. The kitchen was well equiped, plenty of towels and they even had baby items that you would need such as a crib, pack-n-play and highchair. This was a big help to my son and daughter in law so they didn't have to bring it all with them. We all enjoyed the pool, hot tub, kayaking and fishing so much no one wanted to go anywhere. The owner Patricia was wonderful and responded quickly with any questions I had. Thanks Patricia we had a great time.

Lovely location. Not really on the ocean like I thought but still a very pretty area. Loved the Kayak/pool/whirlpool availability! Interior of the house/furniture needs a good scrubbing, but the bed was very comfortable. We all had a great time.

Place was nice and in a great location. Not a long commute to Miami or Key West. The place needed a couple of things mended such as the window screens for the master bedroom. Tools were left on the back patio and the hot tub cover did not function properly. Pool was excellent. Only disapointment was the grill not having bricketts.

Not as advertised

The view, water access and location of this house was great. There is plenty of dockspace and a nice pool. This is a one story house on stilts that has the ground level finished into extra bedrooms. These were very musty smelling and requires exterior access to go from first to second floor (not great for younger kids). The furniture in the house consists of mismatched leftovers. For example the diningroom table was worn and the chairs were a collection of leftovers and many were loose and falling apart. The "hometheater" was an open room off the kitchen and the leather theater couches were very dirty looking. The master bath had mold on the a/c vent and the shower curtain. The kitchen worked well and has what we needed. This house is fine for a group of guys but not worth the price or not for families.
