This vacation rental is centrally located, off the beaten path (US1) in the middle of the island of Marathon. You will be only a couple of minutes in either direction from grocery stores, drug stores (Eckerds and Walgreen's), K-Mart, and many nice restaurants. A ground level duplex, it is spacious, well maintained, and very clean.
Nearby and available for your vacation enjoyment are Sombrero Beach (one of the Keys' popular public beaches), Pigeon Key (a 1930's Keys railroad museum and conservatory), and Marathon's Museum of Natural History. Also nearby are boat rentals as well as fishing, diving, and snorkeling charters. We would be happy to assist you with your charter reservations.
On the coral reefs off the ocean side of Marathon is Sombrero Lighthouse, one of the premier dive/snorkel destinations in the Florida Keys. It is absolutely beautiful.
Located on the Gulf side of Marathon, this property is on a clean, protected deep water canal that offers two minute access to the Gulf, five minute access to the nearest public boat ramp, and ten minute access to the Atlantic Ocean.
With ample dock age and easy access to the Gulf and Ocean, this property offers all of the amenities you will need for a boating vacation or just a quiet stay in Paradise.

I rented this house on Bruce Ct for my honeymoon. Over the years I've spent several months in this town enjoying the area. This location is near the airport, which may bother some people, but there is so little air traffic that it's not really an issue. Street location is such that you can safely walk or bicycle out for ice cream after supper if you like. The house is canal front, not ocean front, so you don't have spectacular views - but then you aren't paying for those views either. You can sit on the dock and watch fish if you like; you can dock your own boat (or rental) there also (up to about 30ft). Public ramps are available about one mile away. The house was as advertised, well supplied and in good working order. You can park your car underneath it - which is a real plus to keep it cool in the hot sun or to give dry access if you happen to see the unusual heavy rain that sometimes falls. We did find some minor operational issues in the house but nothing that really interfered with enjoying our stay greatly. The property manager seems attentive to problems and I have reported them to him. Cable and Internet are included, we were able to have Skype calls with no problems. A local phone is also present. The beds are good and are firm - no pillow tops here. I would like to stay here again and can recommend it to you also.
