Marquette Camp Luke Charles Cottage Lake Superior (#35311)
Marquette, MichiganDescription of the Marquette vacation home rental
Camp Luke Charles is a peaceful and private home overlooking the Sand River next to a gorgeous stretch of Lake Superior Beach. This awesome 2 mile, uninterupted stretch of Lake Superior sandy beach ( between Shot Point and Laughing Whitefish Point) is but a short walk down our secluded wooded driveway and across the road (see aerial view picture). This stretch of sugar sand beach is known by the locals as some of the best Lake Superior beach around. Virtually no people, no buildings, just clean, fine sand and amazing water. The Sand River is excellent for easy, relaxing, slow moving kayaking and canoeing which leads out to Lake Superior a 1/2 mile away.
Normal occupancy is 8 people with plenty of beds and room for up to 14 guests (additional fee). The spacious living room has 2 full size futon couches, 2 rocking recliner chairs, and a sofa. The dining table can seat up to 10 people with a beautiful view overlooking the gorgeous, winding Sand River. A woodburning fireplace rests in the corner of the knotty pine living room for a wonderful cozy feeling. Reviews for this vacation home rental in Marquette, Michigan
RELAXATION AT IT'S BEST, September 14, 2009
Very cozy and comfortable, August 24, 2009
Relaxing, August 11, 2009 What time it is.
What day of the month it is.
What's going on elsewhere in the world.
Time is a walk on the beach.
Stories around the fire.
Picking wild blueberries.
Long walks in the woods.
Kayaking Sand River
Knitting
Watching birds and other little critters
Watching Autumn creep up red on leaves
The day of the month is the sun coming up and going down
it is mass on Sunday
and maybe some time at a festival.
What's going on in the world are matters of the heart and soul-its the pounding surf of Lake Superior, washing grief from the heart.. if only for a moment...
it's live music at the Seafood festival, and watching my sister dance- and seeing joy and light on her face...if only for a moment...and knowing that just for a second, grief, like shards of glass, were under her feet- and she danced, no matter the pain on her bare feet. Cate
