Description of the Marquette vacation home rental
The home is located at the end of a road with limited neighbors. The shoreline at the house itself is rock but 1/4 mile walk to the east there is a beautiful secluded sand beach with no homes within 1.5 miles. Perfect for that early morning stroll or swim.
Area Information
Marquette is a 15 minute drive west and Munising is 30 minutes east. Both offer beautiful settings for whatever civil necessities you feel you need - movies, restaurants, taverns, site seeing, grocery stores, gas stations, video rentals, and much more. Charter boat fishing 15 minutes and Pictured Rocks cruises and Grand Island trips only a 30 minute drive. Local attractions also include the Superior Dome, Lakeview Arena, Mattson Lower Harbor Park, Northern Michigan University, Presque Isle Park, Berry Events Center, and the wonderful historic downtown Marquette. This was a fantastic rental for what we used it for. A large group and lots of entertaining. It was costly compared to other rentals but the seclusion, room and water access were worth it. Great kitchen but short on utensils and cookware so bring some of your own. Trash day is Wednesday. This would have been good to know ahead of time... Absolutely gorgeous setting! Comfortable beds and furniture, awesome water heater.

We had ten young adults in need of a house to use as a home base for our organization's planning weekend. This home was a perfect find. It's incredibly specious, offers plenty of options for fun breaks, and comes complete with a perfect view of the lake. We appreciated the cleanliness and ability to cook our meals with the dishes supplied. I recommend this house if you're looking for a place that immediately feels cozy yet requires a little more convenience than a shack in the woods.

Graduation from NMU family celebration

We recently stayed at the Lake House when our son graduated from NMU. We had several family members, including 3 small children. When we weren't at the graduation or other activities associated with the graduation, we were able to relax, unwind, and make our own meals together as family without having to go out to eat all weekend, and the children were able to have some space instead of the small, cramped hotel rooms all weekend. The space at the Lake House was more than adequate for our family. Most everything we needed was available. No major issues. Beautiful setting. Loved the fireplace. Would be great for a summer gathering for a large family as ours. If we're ever in the area again, we would love to stay at the Lake House.

A wonderful stay with breath-taking views and lots of outdoor fun with family. Great location--best on Shot Point--next to private beach with Eagle sightings a daily occurrence. The home exceeds your expectations with apple trees, awesome patio out on the lake, and canoes for getting to the beach. This is a repeat visit and my first choice when I'm in Marquette. Thanks to the Grove family for sharing their home with us!

What a beauty!

We stayed at this home two years ago, and I can't wait to go back. It is situated at the end of Shot Point Road, and the views of the lake are incredible. The house is very spacious, with a nice, private master suite, two more bedrooms upstairs, and two more downstairs. The fireplace and sauna are great to have. It was a wonderful experience, you won't be sorry!

Great Family Lake House

We recently stayed at this house for our daughters college graduation and had a great experience. The view of Lake Superior was incredible and the house was comfortable. While we were there a big snow storm came through; we did not have trouble getting to the home; the road and driveway were plowed. We would definitely go back.

Shot Point Home

The house was generally clean and in good shape and we very much enjoyed ourselves. There was ample space and the beds were comfortable. A few surprises - a forest "critter" had buried sunflower seeds under the linens in two of the beds, which created quite surprise on the first night (especially after a long day of travel), but we didn't see any other sign of the critter in the house. The house was well supplied and warm, which was important given the cold weather and high winds. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. Nice library to choose from. Minor issues included a few pots and pans were put in cabinets with food residue on them. Overall, it's a lovely home, with a spectacular view of the lake. We hope to stay there again.

We really enjoyed this rental.The home was nicer than we expected.The fire pit was wonderful,we roasted hot dogs late one night. Weather was awesome- sunny and cool. Firewood for fire pit and house provided.Kitchen very spacious. Wonderful views from all the rooms. Overall we would definitely recommend this house.

Great house with great location. Incredible sunsets. Loved the bald eagles flying over. Dining & living area provide a large space for a big group to enjoy many meals together. The firepit on the beach makes evenings so enjoyable to just sit and visit. There is something for everyone to enjoy here.
