Description of the Marquette vacation home rental

A beautiful home located on the southern shore of Lake Superior that sleeps 10 comfortably - more with the pull out couch and air mattress! Dubbed the Lakehouse Retreat, this home has all the amenities you want when looking for that spot to reconnect with loved ones and friends - a beautiful view, a large patio right on the lake with a built in fire pit, a town nearby (15 miles) that offers movies theaters and plenty of restaurants, and a lot of things to do outside at any time of the year.

The home is located at the end of a road with limited neighbors. The shoreline at the house itself is rock but 1/4 mile walk to the east there is a beautiful secluded sand beach with no homes within 1.5 miles. Perfect for that early morning stroll or swim.

The world's largest fresh water lake is within 50 yards of the back door. Travel beyond that and you have the best fresh water fishing anywhere, hiking, biking, skiing (cross country and downhill), snowmobiling (the UP trali network is across the highway from our 1.5 mile road), canoeing, kayaking, ATV, and site seeing.

Marquette is a 15 minute drive west and Munising is 30 minutes east. Both offer beautiful settings for whatever civil necessities you feel you need - movies, restaurants, taverns, site seeing, grocery stores, gas stations, video rentals, and much more. Charter boat fishing 15 minutes and Pictured Rocks cruises and Grand Island trips only a 30 minute drive. Local attractions also include the Superior Dome, Lakeview Arena, Mattson Lower Harbor Park, Northern Michigan University, Presque Isle Park, Berry Events Center, and the wonderful historic downtown Marquette. A lovely home with everything needed to enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior. Great location, private beach, beautiful sunsets, canoeing, apple trees, awesome patio on the lake to enjoy family get togethers. Nice library of books and DVD's for "down-times." Pin-pong table and bag game for indoor fun. We were pleasently surprised that it was MORE than we expected! The family was near-by to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer questions. Lots of information at the house for things to do and places to see. Great over-all experience.
