This is an ideal place to unwind and get away from it all. Located on Sand River in Northern Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula. Clean air, water, wildlife and beautiful scenery abound.
Our Retreat is a custom built home on a 1.8 acre Riverfront, Lake Superior view lot. Features a relaxing Master Suite with Jacuzzi tub, separate glass encased shower, marble floors, custom cherry vanity and two decks. One with stunning Lake Superior and river views, the other with peaceful views of reflecting pond and trees. Solid oak custom built stairs lead to suite. Retreat also features unobstructed views of the Sand River Bridge, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Living room, dining room with gas fireplace and spectacular lake, river and bridge views, kitchen, deck, 24x30 recreation room with 15 foot L-shaped solid oak custom-made wet bar and modern electric 6 person cedar sauna with shower. The outdoor grounds include horse-shoe pits, fire pits, volley ball court, canoe and barbeque grill. Small pets accepted, upon approval, so you don't have to leave your furry friend at home! After all, they love, and need, a vacation sometimes too :o)

Area Information
The river is great for canoeing, fishing, kayaking and other water sports and has great access to beautiful Lake Superior and sand beaches. Home is under a mile from the Mangum Rd. entrance to the North Country Hiking Trail, also near biking, skiing, snowmobiling (we're located right on DNR designated trail 417) & snowshoeing trails, casino, hunting and many other outdoor activities. The spectacular Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising is also a reasonably short drive from the cottage, as well as two casinos, one under 7 miles away and the other just over 20. Chocolay Downs Golf Course is located 8.5 miles away. The location is 17 miles east of the city of Marquette, which was recently designated as one of America's Most Livable Communities. In October 2010, Forbes announced their "Ten Best Small Cities to Raise a Family," and Marquette was designated #3 in the nation. Marquette was designated a "Bicycle Friendly Community" by the League of American Bicyclists in April 2010. Had a great time

We shared the house with another couple and had a great time. It was clean, well stocked and really convenient for Marquette. LOVED the basement bar and Pool table. The views out to Lake Superior were a treat.

We came to Marquette to our Daughters wedding and to spend time together. It was the most beautiful and relaxing spot. Even better than we the pictures on line. We had a amazing time with or children and grand children.
