Our NC antique log cabin for rent is located in the gated Wolf Laurel Resort 45 minutes North of Asheville. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the heat, come to the cool breezes of the mountains while enjoying the magnificent wide-range view of Big Bald Mountain and watch the hikers on the Appalachian Trail. While sitting on our covered porch watch the humming birds feed and sometimes see wild turkeys and deer roam the property close up. No need for air conditioning at 4,700 feet. The breezes are wonderful.

ABOUT OUR CABIN WITH A HISTORY: Fully furnished antique pre-blight chestnut log two-story cabin from Tennessee with another 17’ x 19’ single story pre-Civil War N. C. poplar MBR. Downstairs: Master BR has door leading to outside, porch, large walk-in closet with Master bath; carpeted BR/office (pull out queen bed) with wall to wall cherry desk facing the mountain ranges with full bath which also leads to the kitchen-dining area; fully furnished kitchen appliances with beautiful wormy chestnut cabinets, dishwasher, garbage disposal, built-in microwave, gas range and oven; gas floor furnace to take the chill off on rainy days if you don’t want a fire in the large stone fireplace in the living room. Upstairs are two carpeted BRs (queen bed and twin beds) with full bath; Cabin has been totally renovated. 1,940 square feet, wide plank floors with antique nails; lots of trees and shade; covered 50-foot porch to watch the rains come from over the mountain and across the valley in one of the many rockers; one of the few lots on a ridge making the lot level in back and gently sloping in the front; .63-acre lot backing up to Mars Hill watershed woods;; ceiling fans in all bedrooms and on the front porch. Best of the seasons anywhere; owners are charter members of Wolf Laurel County Club, which allows you to eat at the club using their membership number; hike mountain trails to Big Bald (Appalachian Trail); watch the leaves turn gold and crimson in October.

Rental for months of August, September, October and November $2,750; week $1,250.
Deposit of $500 required. Perfect for two couples or one family. No pets.
All you need to bring is your toothbrush and clothes.

Area Description

The Wolf Laurel Resort is beautifully landscaped with blooming flowers. It is located where the deer and wild turkeys roam free. Hummingbirds love it. Many other amenities are available at or near Wolf Laurel: swimming, golf, horseback riding, tennis, water rafting, bike-riding, trout fishing. One hour to Asheville airport, even closer to Asheville and the Biltmore House; close to many other attractions such as Jonesborough, TN story-telling and theater productions in Mars Hill or Burnsville.

Hiking trails, horseback riding, we are Wolf Laurel Country Club member and you can eat there as our guest, See people walking on Applician Trail on Big Bald mountain from cabin's 50 foot porch, long range view across mountain. Deer and wild turkey roam our property as well as humming birds to enjoy watching while sitting on porch. Very private setting placed the woods while still enjoying the amenities at Wolf Laurel.
