Description of the Maryville vacation cottage rental
Awesome Mountain views from this Smoky mountain home. 3BR/2 BA Fully furnished w/ log furniture. Leather sofas w/recliners to enjoy the stone fireplace. Sleeps 6. Master has king size bed. 2nd BDRM has Queen size bed. 3rd BDRM has log bunk beds, twin size. Linens, pots, pans, dishes, everything needed to enjoy your serene stay. 100 acre back yard. You don’t even have to visit the smoky mountain park to enjoy this area as there are 4500 acres of TVA public land across the street for hiking and hunting. East-Chili falls is a ¼ mile from the foot of the driveway for your own private swimming hole. Family’s, hikers, bikers, and hunters welcome. This home is atop the mountain with spectacular views of Chilhowee Mountain (Foothills Parkway). Although we are not located in Gatlinburg, we cater to folks looking for a quiet non-touristy scenic spot from which to enjoy our mountain environment. If you think that you would enjoy staying in a cottage in the forest, like camping but in an air conditoned/heated house rather than a tent this is the property for you. If you prefer to stay in a cabin subdivision where the view is another cabin than Gatlinburg has many options like that. We have recently finished paving our driveway in so that our home is accessible by any type of vehicle. 100% of the road is paved up from the county road and is accessable by any vehicle. This home is located up on top of the mountain and the mountain top setting is invigorating and well worth the trip up!

Great value and comfortable. Drive was steep but did not have a problem going up or down. Had an outstanding view of a big mountain from the front porch. We will stay again when we return to this area.

Owner's reply:

Great smoky mountain hideaway

My husband & I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It's a beautiful mountain hideaway. The view is gorgeous. It was not hard to find but a well hidden treasure. It comes furnished with most things one would need. It is also convenient to "town" & attractions like Cade's cove, Townsend, pigeon Forge, gatlinburg & many other mountain activities. We will definintaly be staying again.

Owner's reply:

It was pleasure to be of service to you. We alway want you to feel like our mountain home is your mountain home

Great Secluded Vacation Home

This was a very nice home up high in the mountains in Tennessee. It was great for our family. If you are looking for a rental away from traffic and noise, this is for you. It is several miles from any stores, so take all you might need with you before you head up the mountain. The roads are flat until you get to the driveway, but the driveway up the mountain is quite steep. At the top there is parking for 3 vehicles if you position them correctly. We loved the view!

David Baglin

Owner's reply:

Thanks for staying with us Mary Lou. I'm glad you guys enjoyed your stay!

Great home - fantastic location!

We spent last weekend at Dave's home. It was exactly what we were searching for for our trip to the Smoky's! The home is plenty big and nicely secluded to get that true mountain experience. I had planned on bringing my motorcycle to ride the Tail of the Dragon. Unfortunately it rained so I was forced to ride in the car. Easy access to the Dragon so location could not be beat for what we wanted to accomplish. The house is stocked with all the amenities that you would need. Saturday night was fantastic as we sat on the deck with dinner while taking in the beautiful views. We will certainly be back again so thank you Dave for the fantastic accommodations!

David Baglin

Owner's reply:

Thanks for staying with us Chris. I was eager to find out how the bike went up and down. Maybe next time we'll find out

Excellent View: Get away from it all!

My husband and I have five children. This cabin was perfect forus! It was fully stocked with linens, a stove, refridgerator, and the big one for us a washer adn dryer! Having children means packing a lot of clothes and being able to keep up on dirty laundry was amazing. The view was perfect! Every morning and evening we were able to take in the beauty and majesty of nature, we even viewed a double rainbow while we were there. It was quiet and refreshing. The drive to the Sugarlands entrance to the Smokey Mountain National Park follows a river the entire way and has beautiful twists adn turns. The garden tub was also a plus, my two toddlers took more baths that week than they ever have. It was also wonderful to have three bedrooms to relax in and have some space to spread out. We will absolutely be back again to enjoy this mountain hide-away. I believe that as a family of seven we were able to significantly SAVE money by renting this cabin as well. I am glad we did not camp, as it rained at least once every day on our vacation. WE were able to play games and relax during the brief interludes instead of sitting huddled in a tent. Mr. Baglin was very accomodating and quick to answer any questions that we had during our trip and friendly on the phone. The children picked berries on the mountain and tried to catch lizards that were abundant in the terrain around the cabin, they even found a several foot long snake skin. Thank you for a gloriously relaxing time spent at your cabin in the woods.

A great place for a vacation!

We spent 4 nights at the home and it was LIKE home! We walked the dogs, did our laundry, relaxed on the porch (when it wasn't raining!)......great! The kitchen was stocked with anything you need, the beds were comfortable.....all good. Severe storms hit the area and washed gravel onto the paved road below which mad it really slippery (the cars actually slid about 10 ft down the paved road on the gravel/mud!). The walk up the hill to the house is no problem empty-handed, but tougher when you're loaded down (of course, we are in our 60s and 70s!). The driveway was the only drawback ...but doable!

David Baglin

Owner's reply:

Thank you so much Mary & Tom. It was a pleasure having you as our guests. We've always wanted our guests to feel like our home is their home, so I'm glad we achieved the desired effect.

The cabin was great and the view from the top of the mountain was even better. The cabin had plenty of room for my wife and I, my daughter and three of my grandkids. We even invited my other daughter, her boyfriend, along with three more of my grandkids and one great grandkid over for dinner and everyone had a great time. The two complaints were that one of my cars could not get up the gravel portion of the driveway, but we were warned ahead of time so no big deal. The other complaint was that we only had it for two days. My wife and I plan on going back for a week by ourselves real soon. Thanks for a wonderful experience Dave and thanks for accomidating us at the last minute.

Best Tennessee Getaway!

I attended classes at the University in Knoxville and my family and I REALLY loved this place! Close enough to Knoxville and yet far enough to be truly country. Amazing views and sunrises greated us on the porch each morning as we enjoyed our coffee and overlooked "our amazing mountaintop." Best find in Tennessee! Best price! And best owner! Thanks Chili, we will be back again and my sister is already planning her next trip as well. :)

Hidden in the hills

This beautiful home was a great spot for my husband and I to spend 9 days just relaxing. Its only about a 30 minute trip to restaurants and Starbucks. Just far enough to feel like your out of the city and close enough for convenience. Prices just can't be beat for the quality of this rental home. Deer and bunnies came and visited us during our stay, the deer got REALLY close too so if you rent this place, get up early and look out front and you may see some! The whole place just felt like home from the minute we got there. Thanks for allowing us to have a GREAT VACATION!

We had a great time. Family loved the Country setting. We even picked wild blueberries for our pancakes. Hiked out in the Back 99 Acres. Would definitely stay again.
