Located just outside Mason, TX in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, this comfy family residence features rural living with the convenience of a 2 minute drive to downtown Mason. The 3BR 2-1/4BA brick home has a comfortable sitting area in the master bedroom;offers a king bed in the spacious 2nd bedroom and a comfy double in the 3rd bedroom. A daybed with trundle is also provided in the sunroom just off the breakfast area, and the full kitchen features a microwave and ample dishes and glassware for your stay of up to 8-10 guests.

Set on a 9-acre property, the scenery at Miller's Retreat is country and your neighbors are far enough away to be unobtrusive. You'll find the wildlife very close in this open yard, with comfortable viewing from the front porch or from the wood deck in the rear.

The family area includes a 25" TV with DVD player. DirecTV hookup is available for those who want to bring their own receiver. There is no wired telephone service, but cell-phone reception is very good from AT&T and West Central Wireless, a partner of T-Mobile. Books abound here with mostly classic titles for your reading pleasure. A slightly out of tune console piano awaits if you feel like pounding the ivories. Mason, Texas is known as the Gem of the Hill Country where you can find blue topaz on the area ranches. Mason is host to acres of bluebonnets each spring and is on the Texas Hill Country Wildflower Trail. Settled by German immigrants whose influence is still felt, the town of Mason also sits on the Texas Forts Trail and flourished after the creation of Fort Mason as protection from the area's native Indians.

Mason is a huge tennis town, as well as being a destination for hunting and fishing. The town is proud of its M Beven Eckert Memorial Library which in addition to traditional services, provides internet access and computers to it's patrons. The Odeon Theater offers first-run movies and sports a new facade as restoration continues on one of the oldest movie theatres in the state. Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve lets you experience the wonder of Mexican free-tail bats as they emerge on their nightly flights. The Comanche Creek Golf Course is ready to provide your golfing fix with it's nine hole course located in Ft. Mason Park.
