Description of the Massanutten vacation home rental
There are 11 sturdy, hand made 48"bunk beds in our home. They were handcrafted to accomodate adults comfortably. All bunks are bolted to the walls so they can't tip.
We also have a kingsize bed, a a queen size bed, 2 double beds, a twin over a double bed and a futon.
Area Information
Also on the mountain, in addition to the skiing and snowboarding, are a Go-kart track and putt-putt golf and a zip line. Don't overlook the great hiking and biking and fishing.
While our home is within the Massanutten Resort complex, we are not connected to the Resort and get no special discounts or access to Resort amenities. Everything that is open to the public is available to you. In the summer you can use our Owner's Pool Pass for the outdoor community pool. The fee at the pool is $5 per person with 5 and under free.
Harrisonburg is fun to explore and we are about 30 minutes from Charlottesville. There are vineyards close and caverns to explore. The area is also rich in Civil War sites.
We want to rent our home for spiritual retreats and to good friends and families who want to spend time together in a peaceful environment. Our home is not a "party house" and we don't rent to college students unless accompanied by parents.

| Deposits: A damage/reservation deposit of $395 is required for all rentals. This must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within fourteen (14) days of departure provided the terms of our contract and house rules are met. 50% of the rental rate is required 60 days before arrival, the remainder within 14 days. | ||||||

| Other Fees: There are no other fees or taxes. We offer a 10% active duty military and repeat renter discount. We operate on a strict first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not guaranteed until the deposit and signed contract and signed house rules are received. Holiday periods are Easter, JMU graduation, 4th July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Holiday rates are $540/night or $3295 per week. Three night minimum stay over holidays. | ||||||

The SunGrazer is a very welcoming and accommodating rental. There was even a decorated Christmas tree! We enjoyed the panoramic view of the mountains and slopes while watching the deer playing in the yard below. The spacious kitchen was especially well equipped for preparing family meals, and having linens provided and laundered was a plus. Besides being just minutes from skiing and all the other Massanutten acitivities, our family times around the fireplace during meals and playing games are special memories. The bed, bath arrangements were great for everyone, ages 5 to 65. Carol, the owner, was very helpful and did everything she could to make our stay a very positive experience. We really enjoyed our stay and would use this rental again. The only criticism we have is that, although the house was clean, there were some areas that we felt could have been cleaned more thoroughly.

Perfect Get-away from it all family reunion

This was our third trip to the Sungrazer, and I am getting ready to book our fourth. The Sungrazer, in addition to having SPECTACULAR mountain views from the second you walk through the door, provides everything you and your family will need for a relaxing mountain getaway. There are more beds than we could ever use, and even with 11 people, we have never had to wait to use a bathroom. The property owners are extemely accomodating, and willing to assist with any questions or issues that might arise. We visit Massanutten in the summer, and it has become my kids favorite week of summer vacation. They enjoy the pool, the water park, and fishing among other things that are availible to do there. The adults mostly enjoy happy hours and barbeques on the deck overlooking the beautiful mountain views. Can't say enough about the Sungrazer for both young and old, as well as the hospitality provided by the homeowner on each of our visits. Highly recommended if you are looking for a get-together of any kind

Our Family Stay

My mom"s cancer recently came back so before she had to undergo chemotherapy again- I decided it would be a great idea to take her and all her grandchildren somewhere to bond. My best friend whom just just lost her grandma to cancer decided to join us bringing her mom (w/ all her grandchildren) as well. It was a great experience and enough room for everyone. We laughed, we cried and I couldn't have picked a better place for us to experience such wonderful energy, love, and great vibes.... Thanx ~Angel

Old Friends

Met at the Sungrazer for a reunion of 7 college best friends and a few family members. Others from our group joined us for dinner "at home" after the game. Being all together for the first time in 29 years would have been great anywhere, but the Sungrazer made it even more special. We were able to seat 12 around the dinner table, with plenty of room in the kitchen for the kids to have their own table. Comfy beds and ample bathrooms for our large crew. The fireplace - with a bundle of wood supplied - was especially welcome after a chilly day of football. We're already talking about coming back next year!

Great Experience

We held a mini-family reunion here with 14, including four children, two small and two teens. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay; the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Everything was provided, as claimed. Note that many of the sleeping provisions are bunk beds. We would have preferred a couple more queen-size beds for the adult couples. Highly recommend!

Retreat was a success

I'm a college soccer coach and brought my soccer team to Massanutten for our team retreat during preseason. 13 girls stayed in this house and there was plenty of room. The upstairs living room and downstairs living room provided plenty of space for the girls to hang out together, watch tv and relax. The area around the house was safe and peaceful. Massanutten offered plenty of activities for the team to do during the day. We played mini golf, went go karting and went to the pool. The house provided a pool pass for everyone. Overall great weekend and would recommend this house to anyone who has a large group and wants everyone to be all together!

The house had plenty of room to accomodate our 12 family members and there was no shortage of activities for the entire family (young and old alike). Used this house for a girls getaway weekend with 14 friends. The house is absolutely stunning, as is the neighborhood and surrounding area. There are tons of rooms and beds, making it wonderful for a large group. Beautiful kitchen and great large open areas for hanging out. Near to hiking and lots of other activities. Would most definitely recommend this property!

All, If you are looking for a place for a reunion with atleast 15 people then this is the place. Marty and Carol are very warm and accomodating. They let us check in early and always answered all our calls and concerns. I would highly recommend this place for families in VA looking for a quick get away and wanting to spend quality family time.

The house was very practical and served the purpose of housing our large group quite comfortably. We were unable to get the surround sound working downstairs, so ask about it ahead of time if you want to use it. The gas fireplace downstairs also required a bit of hunting to find the gas valve to turn on gas, but once lit, it was great to have on as it got pretty cool in the basement. Beds were comfortable and all needed cookware was readily available! Great place for a great price! Owner very accommodating and helpful
