Description of the Massanutten vacation home rental

The St Nick, our newly constructed home, is rare for the Massanutten resort. Not only do we have a flat entrance with two small stairs into our home and plenty of parking, we also have a big, flat yard in the back. The "St Nick" is located in the kettle, right around the corner from skiing, tubing on the slopes, the mini-golf course, the GoKart track, and one of the two 18-hole golf courses. While we are within the Massanutten Resort complex, we are not connected to the Resort and get no special breaks on or access to Resort amenities. Everything open to the public is available to you. With 2 great rooms, 2 massive decks, 7 bedrooms, a game room with Air Hockey, your entire family with have all the space they need to stretch out and relax. There are two master suites, one on each floor, 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 3 bedrooms with 2 sets of twin/twin bunks in each, and one extra large bedroom with a twin/full bunk, a queen bed and sofa.

This is a gated and quiet resort but it is also home to many full time residents who have chosen Massanutten as their home. Please respect out neighbors and the community when visiting our home. We discourage groups from visiting who are looking for a large home to "party" in. We hope you will come and relax, unwind, but please be courteous. The new $30M Water Park is a short drive down to the base of the Mountain. It is a wonder with indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting). The buffet dining area is excellent and the arcade is a magnet for all gamers. Massanutten features a Go-Kart track, mini golf, 2 championship 18-hole golf courses (one designed by Arnold Palmer), horseback riding, biking, hiking, and many caves within a 30-45 minute ride including the famous Luray Caverns. James Madison University is located a short 15 minute ride away. While we are in the Massanutten Resort complex we are a private residence and get so special breaks on access to Resort amentities. Anything open to the public is available to you.

This is a very, very big and brand new home with loads of space. There are two marble gas fireplaces, custom built 48" wide bunks beds, two huge decks, a bar room and game room with air hockey table, a big flat yard, great views, no steep driveway access, too much to list!

• Required Stay: 2 night minimum stay, 3 nights over holidays
   
• Deposits: A fully refundable damage/reservation deposit of $395 is required. This must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; refundable within fourteen (14) days of departure provided the terms of our contract and house rules are met. An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required 60 days before arrival, the other 50% 14 days prior to arrival.
   
• Other Fees: No other fees or taxes. Holiday rates $540/nt over Christmas/NY, Easter week, JMU graduation, Independence Week, Thanksgiving. 3 night minimum over holidays. $3285 per week over holiday periods. Midweek specials, 3 nights $920 for Mon/Tue/Wed or Tus/Wed/Thur.

We had a great time at the St Nick. We rented the house with a few other families for our 10-year JMU Homecoming reunion. The layout of the house was perfect b/c we were able to separate the folks with kids and the folks without kids on separate floors. The scenery was beautiful and all of our interactions with the owners went smoothly.

Our family enjoyed the weekend at ST. NICK'S. The house was larger than expected, there was enough room for the 18 of us to sleep comfortably. The house was close to everything and at the same time, away from it all. The neighbor was friendly and the guards were very helpful. The children enjoyed the back yard and the animals they saw in it. We will definately be going back to ST NICK'S and Massenutten Mountain.

We had a wonderful stay at your home - it was perfect for our family reunion in which 17 of 19 members were present. The layout is great with the kids hanging out downstairs & the adults relaxing upstairs. We especially liked the upstairs deck where we could just sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We liked it so much, that we are planning on returning next summer.

Our family, sixteen of us ages 5 to 76, enjoyed a wonderful winter weekend in this pleasant and sizable home. Aside from our food and personal items, everything we needed was provided. We took advantage of all the activities available, and had great fun. We did find that the Massanutten gym and swimming pool isn't available to renters of private homes. The water park was a treat, though, after enjoying the slopes and the tubing.

24 of our family members gathered in this home for Thanksgiving 2005. There was plenty of space for everyone. Kids dominated the lower level with games and DVD's, but we could hardly hear them from the upper level. We all had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again. The owner provided everything needed. All we had to bring was our food and personal belongings. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. None of us wanted to leave!
