Rambling Home with 4 Bedrooms in Beach community

A four bedroom house on a large corner lot in a quiet traffic-free community. One minute walk to sandy beaches. Located on Point Connett in Mattapoisett, a 100 year old summer cottage colony. Town water and sewer. Tennis courts available. This is an excellent location for families with small/young children, for family reunions, or for general relaxation. Because the house is rambling you can have 8-10 people there without being on top of each other. Outdoor shower. Although the house is set up for summer occupancy it does have heat. Also the house is positioned to catch the prevailing southwest breezes in summertime. The house is on Buzzards Bay and the Point Connett community faces Falmouth which is eight miles away across Buzzards Bay making for long over water vistas to the east, south and west. The Elizabeth Islands, Martha's Vineyard and Woods Hole are clearly visible across the Bay.

Sleeping arrangements: Two bedrooms with queen sized beds. one bedroom with a queen sized bed plus a twin. One bedroom with two built in bunks. One pull out sofa bed in a small sitting room. Two sofas that can be used for sleeping in main living room and a sitting room.

Baths: two full bathrooms with toilet, sink, tub/shower.
One outside shower with hot and cold water.

New electrical service controled with circuit breakers.

Safety: Several Fire extinguishers and Smoke Alarms.

Many beach and yard toys and equipment are on the premises.

A clamming license and equipment are available at the house.

Mattapoisett is on Buzzards Bay, just across the Bay from Falmouth (see map). Mattapoisett has the same water and the same land form and same natural habitat as Cape Cod. Like Cape Cod it was formed by the last glacier. But there is much less traffic and it is easier to get to as ones does not have to cross the canal bridges. Mattapoisett was a part of the original Plymouth colony. Historic attractions in Plymouth are a 30 minute drive away. Historic New Bedord with its National Historic Park and first class Whaling Musaeum are a 12 minute car ride. Mattapoisett was a former fishing and ship building town that also served from the late 1800s as a summer destination. The Town is charming and has many nooks to investigate by land or boat. A new Bike Path has been completed from Mattapoisett to Fairhaven. The Cape Cod Canal, a 20 minute drive, is bordered by bike/pedestrian paths on each side. There are excellent local restaurants. The Town has a golf course and mini golf and a driving range are near by. A ferry from New Bedford makes daily trips to Martha's Vineyard and also to Cuttyhunk.

Buzzards Bay has the same water as the western and southern shores of Cape Cod and as Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. It is warm, unlike the Northern shore of Cape Cod, where the water is COLD.
