Rent the old "Copala Butter Company" located in Copala Sinaloa, Mexico (look that up on the internet "Copala Butter Company") This is a Rustic and historic building that was used as a hotel and restaurant and Has main home, You will have access to the main house and any additional hotel rooms located upstares next to the main home that you may need for your party, bring your friends and family this place has room for all. All included in the rental price of $800.00 u.s.d per month. Close to Mazatlan and Concordia for shopping and night life, great ocean fishing and beautiful tropical weather. Rent this home by the month or rent for the summer. (We will also consider renting as a restaurant location and hotel, and long term rental. We are very flexable lets talk!)

Area Description

Copala is a delightful little town, founded in 1565 thanks to its rich mineral lands. Built into the slopes of a small valley about 40 miles from Mazatlan, its cobblestone roads, colonial style homes, flower patios, and provincial air has converted this town into a refreshing resort in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Copala will make you feel that you have just stepped back into time. For years Copala was a virtual ghost town. This village has been slowly restored and is once again thriving, now it is tourism that is bringing people to this charming foothill setting of what once was the ancestral home of former President Lopez Portillo. The impressive Church of San Jose, built in 1740, is one of the finest among its area. A drive from Mazatlan to this small ex-mining town, visited daily by Mexican and foreign tourists, is well worth a day visit if you want a little taste of what life was like in the past. Spend a little time exploring one of the country's most productive mines of gold, silver, and other minerals, then enjoy a gourmet lunch in one of its Mexican restaurants.

The town´s most prominent landmark is the Iglesia de San José facing the plaza. Built in the early 1600s, it is one of the region´s oldest churches. From the top of the church´s baroque façade juts a statue of a dour-looking priest. He peers down menacingly at parishioners, no doubt checking to see if they attend mass regularly. Sunlight streams through the church´s high wooden doors, illuminating an airy interior with neoclassical-style altars.

The Copala Butter Company building anchors the opposite end of Copala´s main square. This restored colonial mansion named after its former owner, Charles Butter, now houses a funky hotel and restaurant that also serves as the town´s unofficial museum. Newspaper clippings and faded photographs of Copala and its citizens decorate the restaurant´s walls, and there is a room crammed with helmets, pickaxes, and other mining paraphernalia. It is charming and comfortable and remains a beautiful peaceful place to unwind relax and make your home bace for your Mexican summer vacation.
