Cottage near Harrisburg Hershey Pet Friendly Creek

Located near Lisburn and Mechanicsburg (suburbs of Harrisburg), Pennsylvania, the Yellow Breeches Cottage is a cozy vacation home sitting directly on the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek, a nationally renowned location for fishing and popular for kayaking and canoeing. Its proximity to US Route 15 and Interstate 83 make it only a two hour drive outside of the District of Columbia area and Baltimore, 30 minutes to Hershey (Chocolatetown, USA and home to HersheyPark), 15 minutes to center city Harrisburg (the Capitol of PA) and 30 minutes to Gettysburg with its infamous Battlefield and outlets.

The Yellow Breeches Cottage is a great location as a base if you are from out of the area, visiting family or several locations in Central Pennsylvania. Since we are dog friendly, you can bring your four legged family member and use the fenced in side yard for playtime. It has a large shade tree and lots of room to romp. Of course, the creek is just a few feet away too! Located less than a mile away is a large community park along the creek, complete with a fenced in dog park, nature trails and more!

A stay in the Yellow Breeches Cottage offers year round activities. In the winter, take a 15 minute drive to Roundtop Mountain Resort (formerly Ski Roundtop) and spend the day on skis, snowboards or go tubing, day or night. Or you can drive to Hershey, PA and visit Chocolate World at Hershey Park or go shopping at the Outlets of Hershey.

Spring, Summer and Fall are wonderful times to stay at Yellow Breeches Cottage. The tranquil, scenic Yellow Breeches Creek is a perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing and tubing. Imagine having a cup of coffee on the deck and walking a few steps to the creek to cast your fishing rod while sitting on the private dock or just relax on the deck with family and/or friends.

If you like to golf, you can almost walk to Liberty Forge, home of an 18 hole golf course as well as a miniature golf course and restaurant.

Located only 30 minutes or less to Hershey, you can visit Hershey Park and enjoy rides and entertainment, visit Chocolate World, shop at the Outlets of Hershey and learn about Milton Hershey at The Hershey Story Museum. In the fall and winter, if you are a hockey fan, you have to check out a Hershey Bears game!

Also located 45 minutes away is Gettysburg, home of one of the most historic landmarks in the US, The Gettysburg Battlefield as well as many antique shops and outlets.

Harrisburg, the Capitol of Pennsylvania, is only 15 minutes away and is one of the most historic and beautiful State Capitol buildings in the U.S.! You can tour the Capitol, visit the Pennsylvania State Museum, Whitaker Science Center and enjoy a walk along the beautiful Susquehanna River. City Island, home of the Harrisburg Senators minor league baseball team is a fun activity or take a ride on a riverboat, The Pride of the Susquehanna.
